Sergei Tkachenko, latest news: the ex-owner of the Soho Rooms nightclub was unlucky in love and business.

Former owner of the Soho Rooms club Sergei Jeff Tkachenko, in Moscow on January 29, 2017, has recently been constantly faced with life’s troubles.

According to acquaintances of the deceased, several of Sergei’s projects failed miserably not long ago. So, the ex-owner of Soho Rooms could not open a new establishment. One of them was supposed to appear in the building of the Mir cinema on Tsvetnoy Boulevard in Moscow.

“The whole club scene in Moscow was buzzing about how cool it would be and that the whole audience intkbbach from Soho Rooms will move there. Then “Mir” was taken over by Misha Danilov, and Seryoga was left out of work,” Eg.RU quotes Dorffman club owner Sergei Loskutov.

His second unsuccessful project was the construction of a club on the seashore in Odessa: the building was literally washed into the water during a storm, and the businessman lost two million dollars.

At the same time, Sergei was unlucky in his personal life. Thus, the girlfriend who was next to him at the time of his death had previously worked as his assistant at the Paradise and Icon clubs. However, in the end, Sergei kicked her out due to the fact that the girl “got hooked on all sorts of crap and went crazy.”

Producer Alexander Valov also spoke about Tkachenko’s personal problems.

“Sanya, all the chicks are just creatures. They have already made me hesitate. Find me a good girl for a serious relationship!” - he brought Tkachenko, but he failed to find a companion for the famous DJ.

A firm gait, a clear and swift gaze, a rare but infectious laughter and a clear position in life. Minimum words and maximum actions. This is a portrait of Infiniti promoter, head of the D’Lux promotion group, Next FM host - Sergei Tkachenko aka “Jeff”.

E- I was surprised to learn that you started with go-go dancing. To be honest, I didn’t think you could dance at all. You have the image of a very serious and businesslike person. You are the head of the D’Lux promotional group, you broadcast on Next radio, and in addition, you are a professional Dj. How did this happen?
J- I've been dancing since kindergarten (laughs). Dancing is in my blood, apparently I inherited these abilities from my parents. At that time, breakdancing was fashionable and if you danced, you were cool and all the girls were yours! We watched video clips on TV and tried to imitate the same thing in training. But starting in 1989, I started dancing professionally and opened my own school. In 1992 he participated in the dance team of Bogdan Titomir, from 1994 he joined the MF3 group, constantly took part in dance competitions, thus developing in this direction. By the way, we danced on Arbat for three years as street breakdancers, returning with broken knees, but full of energy and enthusiasm. And I became a DJ a little later, when my friends decided to organize parties, and my first serious attempt as a promoter was, of course, Wednesdays at the Garage club.

E- Nowadays all young people, one might say, are eager to become promoters. What should an ideal club promoter be like? The main quality without which you cannot become a promoter.
J- Well, the real promoters in Moscow can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Yes, this is a fashionable profession, because... it is promoted by people whom many want to emulate. The main quality is openness and sociability, but to the required extent. A promoter must carry a certain mystery and energy. He must be able to present himself correctly, attract people and create a holiday. Walking holiday. But very professional.

E- Were you the first to hold a “Vip-wash” party in Moscow? Whose idea is this? I also heard about fire-show, you once set a car on fire at the doorstep of an Infiniti.
J- They burned the car? Well, no, to be honest, this didn’t happen. And there was a car wash two years ago at the entrance to Infiniti as part of a promotion for the Next radio station. Strippers gracefully washed cars. (Laughs) It was a shocking sight, which attracted a lot of people. Our know-how!

E- Add: the success of the party depends 100% on...
J- From the atmosphere. And the atmosphere in the club is created by DJs, MCs, promoters, staff, light, sound. The atmosphere is one of joy. People want a holiday, and we give it!

E- Remember your best party, something like D’Lux’s calling card?
J- Oh! Of course, the birthday of the promo group D’Lux in 2004 in Infiniti! We prepared for a month! There were amazing decorations: they ordered a huge cake, from which strippers then appeared. Many artists, our friends, performed on this day; in short, they invested their hearts and a lot of money.

E- Lately there has been a meteor shower at Infiniti: performances by Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes, Maya, who came to the club’s birthday, Coolio, JARule. Did you manage to communicate with anyone? Who do you remember?
J- No one was able to communicate with Missy. She turned out to be a secretive person. I personally really liked Busta Rhymes.

E- What exactly?
J- He is a very calm, confident person, he correctly positions himself when communicating with people. He's a professional! At the same time, he does not push others away, he always makes contact and is always positive. Strength, positivity and intelligence are the three components of a man that command the respect of everyone. And the most original one turned out to be JARule. Our boy!

E- What is the main criterion for selecting resident DJs at the club?
J- You know, this may sound trite, but, as in any profession, only people who are fanatically dedicated to their work achieve results. Conscientiousness, talent and desire. But even if you have no talent, you can become a good DJ if you work honestly! There are living examples of this, but I don’t want to name names.

E- And the last question: why Jeff and not Michael, for example?
J- (Laughs) The “first” time they asked me this question! Well, when I was dancing, it was not fashionable to be Sergei. I really liked the then famous Dj JaZZyJeff&FreshPrince. Of all this, I liked Jeff. That's all!

On Sunday afternoon, January 29, the famous Russian DJ and one of the founders of the Moscow nightclub Soho Rooms Sergei Jeff Tkachenko died in Moscow as a result of a fall from a cornice located at the level of the 20th floor

The Investigative Committee has begun an investigation into the death of Sergei Tkachenko, who fell from a window on the 20th floor of a residential building in the center of Moscow. The deceased was a famous Russian DJ and former co-owner and creator of the Moscow nightclub Soho Rooms.

It was established that on the afternoon of January 29, the body of a 41-year-old man with injuries characteristic of a fall from a great height was found on the canopy of one of the residential buildings on Shmitovsky Proezd, representatives of the Investigative Committee report.

DJ Alex Kafer spoke of Sergei Tkachenko as a bright and purposeful person who could not commit suicide.

We met and worked together so much - I can’t wrap my head around how this could happen. He could be thoughtful in terms of work, he thought a lot, he approached all issues on a grand scale,” recalls Alexey. “Nothing was unimportant to him.” And fall out of the window... Honestly, I don’t believe that such a person could do this consciously on his own, because he was so purposeful. I turned to him for advice as a promoter, an artist, he is such a teacher, you could always ask him something or clarify something. Today I will definitely go to our mutual friends and find out what the mood has been there lately. What kind of quarrels can there be with your wife? They have such an idyll.

Alexey met Sergei three years ago, then they decided to create a remix of Sergei’s most memorable song - “Dreams”.

He wrote it a long time ago, and it sank into the souls of many people. Sergei was a bright and bright person who constantly gave people light and positivity. And he called the song “Dreams” his brainchild: in it he spoke and sang how to climb up, to the sun, to his dreams.

Investigators from the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow are ascertaining the circumstances of the death of Sergei Tkachenko. This morning, all representatives of the Moscow club scene received shocking news: the owner of the Soho Rooms club, Sergei Tkachenko, better known under the pseudonym S. Jeff, died. A man fell from the 17th floor. According to witnesses, Tkachenko had a fight with a woman with whom he lived in the same apartment and stormed downstairs. The terrible death of an ex-member of the “Tete-a-Tete” group did not leave many celebrities - people from the first Moscow “star” companies - indifferent.

Singer Anastasia Zadorozhnaya, who became popular thanks to the acclaimed TV series “Club,” told Life how Tkachenko became the founder of the capital’s club life.

“We are all in shock and don’t understand how this could happen,” Anastasia shared with Life. - I’ve known Seryozha for a very long time, since the time of the series. We spent time together on the set, one might say, we didn’t leave the club. Then it was still Infinity, and then Soho Rooms appeared. He was the founder of this whole party, a very respected man. We spent a lot of time with him, all those days on the set, we lived like a big family, Me, Seryozha, Alexander Tolmatsky. Unfortunately, we haven’t communicated much lately, mostly just congratulating each other on the holidays. Honestly, what happened was a shock to me, Sergei was never seen in any controversial things, he was always calm and friendly.

Russian producer and father of rapper Decl Alexander Tolmatsky, in turn, told Life that at a certain period of his life Tkachenko abused alcohol, but before his death he decided to lead a healthy lifestyle.

I haven’t seen him for a long time, but he was always normal and reserved. Many people knew him, everyone treated him with respect. I recently heard about this tragedy on the radio and am now very depressed. He recently had a new girlfriend, they say it happened because of a quarrel with her. But this is all strange, because he hasn't been drinking lately. Once he had a period, he drank, but then he quit and opened a business. There is no reason to jump out of a window.

In a conversation with Life, Andrei Grigoriev-Appolonov, a member of the Ivanushki International group, recalled that he knew Tkachenko even before he became the founder of many Moscow clubs. As it turned out, the artist remembers Sergei as part of the group “Tete-a-tete” together with Irakli Pirtskhalava. By the way, in 1997 the team performed at the “Christmas Meetings of Alla Pugacheva.”

On behalf of Sergei’s friends, we kindly ask, if possible, to post an article in memory of him, written by friends. We want people to know what kind of person Jeff really was, what contribution he made to the development of the club industry, music and the promotion of emerging talent." We publish the letter without editing.

His youthful passion for breakdancing and modern choreography eventually grew into a career. Alexey Kulagin, Artem Zvezdinsky and Vyacheslav Martynenko, together with Sergey, promoted the fashion for R’n’B and hip-hop in Russia. His friends and those around him noticed: the project inspired Sergei very much, he grew professionally, made big plans and received many offers from investors and colleagues. Sergei's business partners were industry leaders: Alexander Tolmatsky (56), Dmitry Braude, Mikhail Danilov. Since childhood, Sergei was fascinated by sports; he practiced wrestling and karate; football occupied a large place in his life: he was both a fan and a player.
