Being professionals in their field, good showmen will arouse the admiration of all those present, attract attention and amuse everyone.
Are you still hesitating whether to invite an artist to the holiday?

  • the uniqueness and peculiarity of the celebration, which is achieved through an individual approach to each person and the selection of a scenario for a specific occasion
  • involvement of all guests in what is happening, maintaining interest on the part of everyone present in the hall
  • the scale and entertainment of the program will turn even a modest holiday into a real celebration

Artists of all genres will be able to take part in the experimental festival “Street Musician”, which will be held in Moscow from November 1 to February 1. Applications will be available soon. Registration will begin on November 1.

“As part of the experiment, for the first time we are giving the opportunity to perform to all artists who want to try their hand at the public. We do not evaluate musicians based on the quality of their performance. Their work will be assessed by the audience,” said the Moscow Department of Culture. — Anyone can write comments and wishes to the official email of the project: [email protected]. We will consider them and take them into account if possible. Our curators will keep order at the venues; if artists break the rules, we will contact law enforcement officials.”

The Department of Culture clarified that in the application for a performance, artists must indicate their surnames, first names and patronymics, contact phone number, name of the group and its composition, and also attach a link to their video performance, if any. Afterwards, they will have to read the rules for performing on the site and agree to them. Then the performer will receive a letter by email to confirm the booking, indicating the place and time of the performance.

As Alexey Nemeryuk, head of the Moscow Department of Trade and Services, explained, musicians will be able to independently choose temporary performance slots. One performance is given two hours. If the next slots are not occupied or the next festival participant does not show up, the musician can continue the performance.

“We already have positive experience in organizing performances by street musicians. At the recent Moscow Cinema festival, they were given seven concert venues, and 20 groups took advantage of this opportunity. The most popular spots were on Revolution Square, Nikolskaya Street, Manezhnaya Square and Kamergersky Lane,” said Alexey Nemeryuk.

There will be no pre-screening or auditioning. Everyone will be able to leave a request and choose any of 14 venues for a performance. The Moscow Production Center will coordinate the work with the participants. The venues will be open from 10:00 to 22:00. Performers will have to comply with moral and ethical standards. In particular, they must not use profanity, and they will also be prohibited from performing while intoxicated. In addition, musicians cannot use sound amplifiers because the venues are located on streets where there are residential buildings.

Within the time allotted to the artists, performers will be able to distribute printed materials and tell listeners about their team and the next performances at the project sites.

The Street Musician festival is organized by the Department of Trade and the Department of Culture of the city of Moscow.
