Evgeny popov journalist biography personal life growth. The secret of the family life of Olga Skabeeva and Evgeny Popov is revealed

A film about how Western intelligence agencies, to the misfortune of the unintelligent Russian opposition, recruited Alexei Navalny, aired on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, could not help but draw attention to the figure of its author, VGTRK correspondent Yevgeny Popov. The path of a modest boy from Vladivostok to the most important special assignment in his journalistic career - tracked by The New Times

There were many revelations in the tape called “The Browder Effect”: it turns out that back in 1986, the CIA developed Operation Trembling to “change the constitutional and political system” in Eastern Europe and the USSR. 20 years later (when the USSR had already become Russia), in December
In 2007, the agents Solomon (the pseudonym of a well-known businessman, head of the Hermitage Capital investment fund William Browder) and Freedom (the pseudonym of Navalny) were allegedly involved in the implementation of these insidious plans. In fulfillment of the plans of specialists from Langley, Browder bought shares of Russian companies (in order to put pressure on them) and even organized the murder of his own financier Sergei Magnitsky in the Matrosskaya Tishina cell.

Dmitry Kiselev showed a 15-minute promotional trailer for the film three days before the premiere in his Sunday program. However, the announcement hit the forehead with inconsistencies: the place and time of various events were confused, “secret documents of the special services” and fragments of correspondence between Navalny and Browder abounded in grammatical, spelling and semantic errors. For example, the authors of the film “transferred” Navalny’s Moscow office to Kyiv, and in the “screenshots” of the characters’ correspondence in the Skype program, the question was asked two years after the answer.

Yevgeny Popov, who directed the filming of this tape, has already managed to become famous for using unreliable videos for professional purposes. In addition, he is also known to the public as the husband of Olga Skabeeva, nicknamed the “iron doll” for the manner in which information is presented. Other pages of the professional activity of the whistleblower Navalny are much less known. Meanwhile, Popov's career rise is impressive - from an employee of a provincial radio to the status of one of the most famous correspondents and presenters of the Rossiya 1 TV channel - this is not given to everyone. But only one of the interlocutors of the magazine agreed, giving his name, to talk about the thorns our hero had to go through on the way to the crown of his career. Others insisted on anonymity - some for reasons of corporate ethics, and some, frankly admitting their unwillingness to make an influential enemy.

NT made repeated attempts to get answers to questions from Eugene himself. However, the television fighter with the opposition flatly refused to communicate. Here's what we eventually found out thanks to other sources.

Evgeny Popov was born on September 11, 1978 on Aleutskaya Street in the city of Vladivostok. The mother of the future TV star, a biologist, taught at one of the universities in the capital of Primorye. Popov himself recalled in an interview that he got into journalism by accident. The parents stumbled upon a newspaper advertisement announcing a set of children who wanted to try themselves as hosts of the Sacvoyage program, which appeared several times a week on Primorsky Radio. Thirteen-year-old Zhenya made a successful debut as a journalist, which became the defining moment of his life. “Since then, I have been swimming in this boundless sea of the VGTRK corporation, practically without getting out,” says Evgeny about himself.

A little later, Popov began to cooperate with local television. On his first foreign business trip, he immediately went to one of the most closed cities on the planet - the capital of North Korea, Pyongyang.

By the way, Popov is a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism of the Far Eastern State University (today the Far Eastern Federal University). And the leadership of the alma mater still cites him as an example, along with other graduates - the editor-in-chief of the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper Vladimir Sungorkin and his deputy Igor Kots, correspondents for Channel One, NTV, the Zvezda TV channel ...

In his student years, Eugene did not shy away from revelry and even, according to the recollections of fellow students, he successfully played discs at the DJ console in the local Manila night cafe. Having received a university diploma in 1998, he continued his career on television: since 2000, he has been a Vladivostok correspondent for the Local Time program and a staff correspondent for Vesti, and after a couple of years of work in the regional bureau he moved to Moscow.

Sources NT the Federal Migration Service assures that citizen Popov for some time indicated the address of the building of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company as a place of temporary registration in Moscow, and later took shape in a “rubber” house located in the village of Yadrovo, Moscow Region, where, in addition to Popov, another 156 people fictitiously lived.

In 2003, our hero was seconded to the Ukrainian office of the Rossiya TV channel. Oddly enough, he recalls the Orange Revolution of 2004, to which many of his reports were devoted, today not without enthusiasm, contrasting those events with the Maidan of 2014. For example, giving a master class at the Higher School of Television of Moscow State University the year before last, Popov said: “...Then (in 2004 - NT ) a million people came out to the square, and they all had clean hands.”

family ties

Returning to Moscow in 2005, Evgeny worked briefly as a political observer for Vesti Nedeli and, having gained experience, in 2007 received the enviable position of his own correspondent for the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company in the United States. And some time later, he took up the post of chief editor of the New York bureau of Vesti, that is, he became the head of the bureau. The position is extremely comfortable: a salary of $5-7 thousand per month, in addition, the TV channel pays for a full social package, rent of decent housing, an expensive car, communications and other expenses. Now Popov recalls this time as “very interesting and useful” professionally. True, after three years of living in New York, he “began to ask to come back, because I wanted to be closer to the processes that are happening with us, because, of course, this is heaven and earth,” the TV presenter said during the already mentioned master class. As a result, Popov stayed in the United States, with which he is now waging an irreconcilable ideological war, for six whole years. During which he was engaged, judging by his own recollections, not only in journalistic work.

The first wife of the journalist Anastasia Churkina,Miami, USA, 2014

In an interview with the Vladnews news agency, Popov shared some details of his private life. “I met the girl who became my wife, and then ceased to be her again, although on a business trip, but spent his free time. Although he is terribly lacking ... And about office romances, Sasha (Popov's colleague on the Russia TV channel Alexander Khabarov) is right. What's wrong with that, especially since there are enough rare, as it is mistakenly believed, varieties of girls - beautiful and smart - in the corridors of our company!

One of Popov's colleagues at work in New York, on condition of anonymity, told NT that Evgeny's first wife was the daughter of Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and the UN Security Council Vitaly Churkin Anastasia, who worked in the USA on the Russia Today TV channel. “They met in front of everyone in a cafe in the UN building,” says the source of the magazine. “Then they were married. After the break in 2012, Nastya's father stopped letting Zhenya go to the mission. Once, when he saw Popov at one of the receptions, Churkin even asked the press attache what, pee-pee-pee-pee, the former son-in-law was doing there. As a result, Popov was forced to leave New York immediately after the official end of the business trip - in 2013.

According to another version, Yevgeny returned to his homeland not thanks to the efforts of the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, but in connection with a tempting offer - "to go on the air" as the author of the program, albeit coming out at a later time - "News at 23.00". At the same time, he prepared reports for the Special Correspondent program, where in September 2014 he took the lead, replacing Arkady Mamontov himself.

Some sources NT are sure that Popov owes his rapid rise through the ranks to the "influential roof" in the special services. None of the familiar people in uniform could confirm Yevgeny's regular cooperation with the FSB, but many spoke about the likely patronage of the "office".

Breaking news

You can evaluate Popov's professional qualities in different ways, but you definitely cannot refuse him courage. He managed to visit many hot spots: the war in Libya, the Japanese nuclear power plant in Fukushima immediately after the devastating earthquake in March 2011, both Kyiv Maidans, the war in Donbass, etc. The TV presenter himself recalls that he literally "attracts trouble to himself." So one day, during a flight, he got into a real disaster. The Utair plane, in which Popov was flying with the operator from the next shooting, had a damaged landing gear on fire during landing at a Moscow airport. Jumping out of the emergency inflatable ladder from the cabin of the liner, Eugene immediately began to work and immediately made a story in the news.

Later, Popov became the author of the films Telemaidan, Blockade. Slavyansk. "Big Brother", "Citadel 911", "Kyiv Sich", the documentary "Media Literacy", dedicated to the ideological confrontation between Russia and the West. His manner of presenting the material caused a stormy reaction even before the Browder Effect: the news story “Aggressive Islam: Stavropol split into friends and foes” was nervously perceived by the human rights ombudsman in Chechnya Nurdi Nukhazhiev, who said that “Russia 1” is waging an information war in favor of the separation of the North Caucasus from Russia and is generally engaged in inciting ethnic hatred. Another report by Popov, for which Popov's eminent colleague, Dmitry Kiselev, who was there, had to justify himself during the Tavrida youth forum, is about early childhood education in Norway. In the story, which was also aired on the program "Special Correspondent", the author said: in Norway, they say, in the first grade, children are taught the basics of sexual education and are told, among other things, about homosexuality. The thesis was illustrated with footage from the children's room, hung with photographs of naked men. The video turned out to be a fake: on the filming original, filmed by Fathead, photos from a computer game were superimposed. Popov had to make excuses for Popov and his other colleague, the political observer of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company and the host of the Vesti at 20.00 program Andrei Kondrashov, already in front of the audience of another youth forum, Territory of Meanings. Allegedly, Popov himself was not to blame for the fake, the fake video was obtained on the Internet by editors who collected material. As a result, the VGTRK holding even promised to create a special service to combat fakes.

During the Kyiv Maidan in 2014, Popov's film crew was detained by fighters from the Right Sector (an organization banned in Russia). In an interview with Riga’s MixFM radio station in March 2016, when asked how objectively Russian TV channels covered events in Ukraine, Popov replied: “I can’t speak for all Russian TV channels, I can’t even speak for my TV channel. I can speak for myself. If you watch the programs that I host, you will always see two points of view ... I try to invite people who represent the whole palette of opinions.

Popov was not afraid to shoot during the conflict in the Donbass. Where, however, not everyone remembered only on the positive side. “We met Yevgeny in Slovyansk when I was working as a reporter for VICE News and was captured by rebels,” Simon Ostrovsky, an American journalist, tells NT. “They kept me in the basement of the SBU building together with other detainees for several days and suddenly they told me that they were going to let me go free. They untied my hands, removed the bandage from my eyes, ordered me to wash my face and took me upstairs. There it turned out that Russian journalists, led by Popov, wanted to interview me. I told him the story of my captivity and explained that I was being treated badly. Then the separatists again took me to the basement. I hoped that thanks to the news that a foreign journalist was in the basement, they would help me get out, but Popov did not broadcast this information. At the same time, he emailed my family that I was alive and told where I was.”

For his statements about the war in the East of Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea to Russia, Popov was included in the list of journalists who are banned from entering Ukraine.

Difficulties in translation

“Zhenya was never nasty in communication,” recalls his colleague from the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. “Many have turned to him and are turning to him for help. He has wide knowledge in completely different areas - from volleyball to the history of religion. How did such an erudite reporter fail to notice obvious mistakes in his film about Navalny and Browder?

According to colleagues, Popov, despite a six-year stay in the United States and numerous business trips abroad, speaks English quite poorly at the high school level. “This is the misfortune of many of today's Russian office workers abroad - knowledge of the local language at a level sufficient to order dinner in a restaurant,” says Popov's acquaintance from New York. - In the USA, for example, all our TV people in difficult situations are saved by an employee of the Washington bureau, Elena Sokolova. Therefore, Zhenya could easily have overlooked the errors in the papers used in his exposé film.” Errors were noticed by Internet users after the announcement of the film in Vesti Nedeli. In the full version, some errors have already been corrected, and some have been attributed to the illiteracy of Western intelligence officers.

“This is the misfortune of many of today's Russian employees of bureaus abroad - knowledge of the local language is at a level sufficient to order dinner in a restaurant”

According to experts familiar with the topic under discussion, typos are not the film's only problem. Indeed, it would not be difficult to find real compromising evidence on the same William Browder. So, data on the dubious economic activity of a merchant is even publicly available on the Internet. However, the authors decided to confine themselves to a clear fake. Perhaps the point is the urgency of the execution of the boss's order. People close to Vyacheslav Volodin, the first deputy head of the presidential administration of Russia, say that they had not heard anything about the preparation of the revelations of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company before the release of the film. It is possible that the filming of The Browder Effect was the initiative of another curator of the federal media - another first deputy head of the Kremlin administration, Alexei Gromov.

Among the employees of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, a version is widespread that the documents on the basis of which Popov’s revealing “masterpiece” was made were provided to him by the former head of the security service of the late oligarch Boris Berezovsky, Sergei Sokolov. “They say that Sokolov with these crazy pieces of paper ran for a long time through various channels, trying to regain his lost place in the clip close to the power circle of people,” says one of the NT interlocutors. - At first he seemed to offer them to the First, but was sent due to the obvious forgery. I can assume that Sokolov concocted these "super-evidence" himself, on his knee. Rossiya, on the other hand, seized the opportunity to please the curators from Staraya Ploshchad, undertook to implement the project and immediately close several of the most problematic topics: the death of Sergei Magnitsky, the investigation into the family of Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika, the subversive activities of Alexei Navalny and, most importantly, the Panama Files.

“Even those who understand that we are engaged in cynical agitation will never admit it in a conversation with fellow soldiers. Reflections are not welcome"

The source of the magazine is sure that the decision to use the papers that fell into their hands was taken directly by the leadership of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, and Popov, who had proved his loyalty for many years, was appointed executor. Probably, the candidate was chosen by Dmitry Kiselev, who widely advertised the brainchild of the "chick" of his nest. “Zhenya is an absolute soldier of the party and government, clearly following orders from above,” continues an NT source in the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. - In our company, it is generally considered good form to publicly advertise your devotion to the sovereign. And for inner peace, living in a fictional reality and blindly believing that you are right is much more useful. Even those who understand that we are engaged in cynical agitation will never admit it in a conversation with fellow soldiers. Reflections are not welcome."

Colleagues argue that quite sweet and pleasant in personal communication, Yevgeny is trying to justify his, to put it mildly, not always transparent activity in terms of presenting information with patriotism, love for the Motherland and intolerance towards the enemies of its leadership. “In terms of faith in the correctness of his work, he probably has interesting dialogues with his wife in the evenings,” Popova’s old acquaintance smiles. “Sometimes being inside the system leads to the fact that once worn out of necessity, the mask finally grows and the person becomes a real watchdog of the regime. I remember how once we had a nice beer in their New York apartment with Nastya, where there was access to the roof. Some of the friends present in the company began to recall that in the State Duma they were selling deputy mandates. Zhenya was terribly indignant at these words and then did not talk to this narrator for a long time.

Olga Skabeeva is a Russian journalist, TV presenter of the Vesti. Doc” and “60 Minutes”, winner of prestigious awards.

Olga Skabeeva in her youth

Closer to the end of school, Olga confessed to her mother that she had decided on the choice of her future profession, decided to become a journalist. Therefore, the girl began to study books in advance for admission to the university. In order to be 100% sure of her choice, Skabeeva decided to test her strength in practice and got a job in the Volga newspaper "Week of the City", where she mastered writing articles on various topics.

Well-known journalist Olga Skabeeva

Convinced that she was on the right track, the girl went to conquer St. Petersburg, where she entered the State University. Olga graduated from the Faculty of Journalism with honors. While still a student, a young girl tried to make her first reports in the Vesti St. Petersburg news block. After the first broadcast, Skabeeva was finally convinced of the correctness of her choice.

Work at VGTRK

A certified journalist Olga was hired by one of the largest media holdings in Russia - VGTRK. Skobeeva in each of her reports gave all the best to 100%, trying to fully convey the specific news to the viewer. The girl has always been distinguished by an unusual manner of conducting the program, interviewing. Many critics believe that she has too harsh statements and an iron voice.

Olga Skabeeva interviews

In 2007, Skabeeva received the prestigious Golden Fleece award in the Perspective Television Journalist category. The following year, Olga was awarded another prize in the Profession - Reporter nomination. For two years, she was the host of the rating project on the Russia-1 channel - Vesti. doc. In this program, hot topics of world politics were discussed, and well-known businessmen and public figures were guests of the studio.

Olga Skabeeva, host of the Vesti program

In the fall of 2016, the premiere of the socio-political project "60 Minutes" took place, hosted by Olga Skabeeva and Evgeny Popov. The concept of the program did not differ much from the previous program, but not only public figures began to come to the studio, but politicians and subject matter experts. Repeatedly during the broadcast, when the participants disagreed, scandals broke out.

Olga always has her own point of view, which is clearly seen in all her reports. Perhaps that is why many skeptics and detractors consider her a cynical, cruel supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Repeatedly on the network, Skabeeva was called a follower of Dmitry Kiselev, but the wise and experienced presenter does not pay attention to these attacks.

Young family

Olga Skabeeva is married to a colleague in the 60 Minutes project, Evgeny Popov. The man is 6 years older than her, but this does not affect their family relationships. They got married secretly from everyone in New York. In 2014, a replenishment took place in the family of journalists - the son Zakhar was born.

Olga Skabeeva and her husband Evgeny Popov

When Olga was in the maternity hospital, Eugene was in the center of Kyiv, where bloody clashes flared up between opponents and supporters of the current government at that time. Popov was able to escape only to the discharge of his first child, but Skabeeva understands her husband, because these are the costs of the profession. During business trips of famous parents, Zakhar is with her mother Olga in her hometown of Volzhsky.

Read about the lives of other public figures

"60 Minutes" of the TV channel "Russia 1", hosted by the spouses Evgeny Popov and Olga Skabeeva, has been one of the most popular programs on domestic television for more than a year. Many viewers liked both the original format of the program and the charming presenters.

They organically look on the screen together and there is no doubt about their competence and high professionalism. Fans of the discussion show, of course, are interested in the biography and personal life of the charming Yevgeny Popov, information about his first wife (before Skabeeva, the TV journalist was already married) ..

Life's work

Evgeny Popov was born in Vladivostok into an intelligent family. He was interested in journalism since childhood and already in his school years he began to cooperate with local radio. So, one day Zhenya's parents saw an advertisement in the newspaper about the recruitment of young talents for a local radio station.

13-year-old Evgeny Popov made his rather successful debut as a radio host and began to broadcast "Sacvoyage". However, in his heart, the boy dreamed of television journalism.

Evgeny Popov

After graduating from school, he did not have to think for a long time where to go: the choice was obvious. Popov received his higher education at the Far Eastern State University. Here he studied journalism. In parallel, he collaborated with the seaside channel as a correspondent. And in his free time from study and work, he was fond of music. His fellow students recall how enthusiastically Popov stood at the DJ console and played discs in a local night cafe.

After graduating from high school, Popov went to work at Vesti. A promising newcomer was almost immediately sent on an overseas business trip to North Korea.

For some time, Popov worked as a special correspondent in his homeland, and then moved to Moscow, where he managed to get a job on the Rossiya TV channel. From that time on, Popov's rapid career rise and, by his own admission, "global professional happiness" began.

The capital's authorities send Evgeny on a business trip to Kyiv for 2 years, where he begins to cover the political situation in Ukraine and makes reports about the Orange Revolution. He began to be considered a television fighter with the opposition. Upon his return to Moscow, Evgeny becomes a political observer for the Vesti Nedeli program, and after 2 years he is sent again.

This time, Popov is flying to the US to cover American life for Russians. Over time, he, a staff correspondent of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, manages to grow up to the chief editor of the New York news bureau.

A good salary, a full social package paid by the TV channel ... In America, Popov once again manages to declare himself as a talented TV journalist and reporter. And also here he finds personal happiness.

First wife

In the biography and personal life of Yevgeny Popov, his first wife, Anastasia Churkina, occupies a special place. She had an influential father, diplomat Vitaly Churkin. Nastya works on the Russian channel Russia today and, apparently, they met Evgeny through work.

Once Eugene admitted that on a business trip to the States he had many affairs with “beautiful and smart”. Why he stopped his choice on Nastya is unknown. Perhaps it was just a passion that, as usual, passes quickly. After all, the marriage of Churkin and Popova broke up after a couple of years.

Anastasia Churkina

Rumor has it that Yevgeny's return to his homeland is connected with this: Vitaly Churkin did not want to meet with his former son-in-law in New York and Popov had to leave America as soon as his work contract ended.

Rumor has it that the marriage with Churkina broke up because of Olga Skabeeva. According to another version, Popov was lured to his homeland, promising him a good position. Eugene was supposed to lead the broadcast and conduct the author's program.

Popov and Skabeeva

Second marriage

After a divorce in 2012, Popov did not grieve alone for long. Already in April 2013, he signed with TV presenter Olga Skabeeva. Obviously, he met her while still married to Anastasia Churkina (Olga did an internship in the States).

The wedding of Evgeny and Olga took place in New York, the lovers were then on business trips abroad and it was decided that Skabeeva would fly from Brussels to Popov and they would get married in America. By the way, on the day of painting, they did not manage to fully devote time to each other, because before the wedding ceremony, Eugene had to shoot a report.

Spouses lead the program "60 minutes" together

A year later, a turning point occurred in the personal life of the spouses: Olga gave birth to Evgeny's first child, the son of Zakhar. Well-known TV presenters once spoke about their family life and raising a child in Boris Korchevnikov's program “The Fate of a Man”. Olga told the audience that Zakhar is a very inquisitive child and is constantly interested in the affairs of his parents and is happy to talk about his children's affairs in the garden.

She and Eugene are trying to pay maximum attention to their son and spend time together. By the way, Olga willingly shares family pictures with subscribers. Photos with her husband and son on her Instagram can be found without difficulty.

The TV presenter recalled how in 2014, having put the baby to bed, she went to the hospital corridor of the maternity hospital and, with bated breath, watched her husband's news from the Maidan. It is customary for Popov to report from hot spots. He managed to visit Syria, and the Donbass, and Libya, and Japan, during the accident at Fukushima.

The life of domestic or foreign stars has always attracted viewers. People wanted to find out more, see pictures, maybe, if possible, see a personally chosen idol, get an autograph, listen to an interview. Especially if there are two of them, and they are now married. Therefore, Olga Skobeeva and Evgeny Popov, their wedding has become a popular, discussed topic. After all, both are leading.

As you know, Olga Skobeeva is a 32-year-old well-known journalist leading from the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, and viewers see Yevgeny Popov in Vesti, Social Correspondent, the man is the host of both projects. They recently got married, creating a strong, journalistic and marital union of two similar, talented people. Therefore, about Olga Skobeeva and Evgeny Popov, their wedding was discussed, discussed, interviewed. People wanted to know more about how the wedding went, how the life and work of their favorite hosts are now arranged.

When two creative, talented people converge, their union usually continues in terms of work. If they are actors, then there will be one or more joint films. If the directors, they will probably shoot the next film together. So the pair of presenters, having consolidated the union, became the leading colleagues of the new, large-scale talk show, this is “60 Minutes”, which viewers can see in “Russia-1”. Why do couples need a common project? This is natural. When loved ones are nearby, it is inspiring, especially if they are united by a common hobby or, even better, a professional path. It is not easy to run a program at the same time, it is not easy for two, you literally need to catch the remarks of a colleague on the fly every time, supplement it without getting lost yourself. The Skobeev-Popov couple succeeds very well. Viewers can see how the presenters worked perfectly together. They seem to read the thoughts of a partner, pick up the words.

If you look at how Olga Skobeeva lived, studied, started working, it will become clear to any reader that the girl's life is full of various scandals and troubles. To many, even her voice seems sharp, rude. But Olga is recognizable, she is known even abroad. This is a popular, charismatic presenter, professional correspondent. On December 11, the future TV presenter was once born. It was far away, 1984. His native city was Volzhsky, this is the Volgograd region. Here Olga Skobeeva's biography began. First, infancy, then elementary, high school. Already by the 10th grade, as a teenager, the girl determined her own future. She will definitely become a journalist.

Olga's career started in a local, small newspaper in Volzhsky, "City Week". After graduating from a local school, the girl went to St. Petersburg State University, becoming a student of the chosen journalism faculty. She graduated by 2008, received an “excellent”, then got a job, getting a job at the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, the largest, well-known media holding.

Even in her young, student years, Olga worked as a full-fledged employee of Vesti St. Petersburg, and her efforts were noted with a scholarship from the Potanin Foundation, which is always given for excellent, excellent studies. The teachers noted the girl's hard work and talent.

Then there was 2007, where the biography of Olga Skobeeva was replenished with an award, this is the Golden Pen, which is given to talented, promising journalists. Then she became the owner of the government award, and by the next year, 2008, in addition to her diploma, Olga took the prize, winning a journalistic competition. The girl conducted an investigation for him and the award "Profession - Reporter" became a well-deserved finale.

Further, by 2015-16, TV presenter Olga Skobeeva replenished her biography with a political, well-known talk show as Vesti.doc, it was broadcast constantly through Russia-1. This program opened to the audience frames with sensational, scandalous investigations, and various politicians, businessmen or public figures became guests. Everything is supplied with "fried facts", investigations.

By September of the same, 2016, TV presenter Olga Skobeeva harmoniously combined her personal life with her professional life when “60 Minutes” started, her common project with her husband, which both led as leading partners. The program is also broadcast by Rossiya-1, it reflects the fresh, main topics of the past day, the guests are various political figures and experts.

Alas, Olga's professionalism is sometimes criticized. They note her "iron" or "steel" voice, note the demeanor or views of the presenter. Some are amazed at the ways Olga uses to convey information.

Indeed, if you watch one or two broadcasts, you can see that Skobeeva has a strict, even tough style, which can give the report a touch of aggression. But on the other hand, thanks to this, Olga is recognizable, has a character, does not hide behind someone, does not pretend.

The journalist was often accused, saying that Olga supports the infamous Dmitry Kiselev, this is the deputy of the general director of the same All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, where the journalist herself works. Skobeeva often criticizes, openly, the Russian opposition. Sometimes she is called a bright, well-known supporter of V. Putin, but the journalist does not comment on this.

If in an interview people want to know more about who Olga Skobeeva is, her biography, habits or political views, the presenter notes her irony, with which she usually refers to various events taking place around. Moreover, he considers such a quality in a journalist to be indispensable and main. Yes, she is ambitious, assertive, confident in her own abilities, strengths, sometimes aggressive, but this never seriously interfered with the work being done, it even helped. Olga always gives her best when she works, tries to study the material in depth, not to miss any trifles.

The personal life of TV presenter Olga Skobeeva for several years has been closely connected with another presenter, Evgeny Popov, a man older than her, they are separated by 6 years, but when the couple is together, this difference is completely invisible. The wedding took place several years ago, and the couple lives as a full-fledged, happy family.
On January 14, 2014, the family was replenished with Zakhar, the first-born of the couple. Olga, as expected, was on maternity leave for some time, then continued to work. As partners, they are praised as high professionals. "60 Minutes" is a relevant, interesting program, the lion's share of this is the merit of the presenters. This is typical for many projects. The presenter is the face, the “facade” of the program, he has to lead it, tracking events and giving people information, interviewing guests. The celebrity couple are doing great.

Why is Olga so lucky? After all, only a few succeed in becoming famous, becoming a real master. Probably the secret is in the efficiency, talent and penetrating nature of the girl herself. If you look at the biography of Olga Skobeeva, you can see how she first decided on her future profession, then moved forward, overcoming various obstacles. It cannot be said that their property, the work is only the merit of Evgeny Popov. No, the union of presenters is equal, she is a capable, talented journalist and the criticism she meets, on the contrary, confirms this.

A busy schedule does not always give a couple enough time to spend together raising their son. Therefore, sometimes Zakhar is taken out to visit his grandmother. Common practice when both work.

Olga Skobeeva and Evgeny Popov: wedding, photo, biography

The biography of Yevgeny Popov himself began in Vladivostok, his place of birth, where he was born on September 11, 1978. Infancy, primary, then high school passed quickly. Even when Eugene was listed as a student, he had a chance to work as a host in the local, popular on the radio show "Sacvoyage". After graduating from school, having received a diploma, Popov chose the Far Eastern University by 2000, where he became a student at the Faculty of Journalism. Apparently, he decided early on his future, beloved profession. As a student, he worked part-time, was an employee at the local, seaside television. Then, in 2000, he was already a correspondent for Vesti, where his first position was a correspondent for his native city, Vladivostok. Then, he moved to Moscow, where since 2003 he was a journalist at the Ukrainian bureau from a well-known TV channel, this is Rossiya.

  1. 2005 - returns again to Moscow, becoming a political, already well-known columnist for Vesti Nedeli.
  2. 2007 - he is a correspondent for Rossiya, a TV channel, only in the USA, where at first he was a partner of K. Semin.
  3. 2013 - continues to work, political observer from Vesti. He visited Kyiv, followed by Euromaidan, was a member of the group of the deceased Anton Voloshin.
  4. 2013 - autumn, when Vesti was reformatted, Popov received his own, author's program, namely Vesti at 23:00.
  5. 2014, July, until 2016, June - he is the host, partner of M. Kiselev, along the way he makes reports for another program, namely the Social Correspondent, where the most popular are Telemaidan or Blockade. Slavyansk.
  6. 2014-16, when Kiselev went on his vacation or business trips, replaced him, led Vesti as the main presenter.

At the same time, Evgeny becomes close to the TV presenter Olga Skabeeva, whose biography he, as a colleague then, is well aware of.
September 12, this is 2016 - he is already Olga's partner. Through life, through the program.

True, for Eugene she is not the first, but the second wife. The first was another journalist, namely Anastasia Churkina, this is the daughter of a well-known Russian diplomat, the former permanent representative of Russia in the UN itself (this is 2006-17) - Vitaly Churkin. The couple divorced, then he already met Olga.

How many children do Olga Skabeeva and Evgeny Popov have

Why is their marriage so discussed now? After all, many famous, talented people get married, get divorced, share children. Each time it becomes a scandal, a rating story. It's simple, people love noisy showdowns, fights, verbal abuse. Here is a happy, harmonious family. For the biography of Olga Skobeeva, he, Evgeny Popov, became an important, even fateful page. Not surprisingly, for a girl this is the first serious, long-term relationship, the first marriage. The husband is older, but the difference is very small, they always complement each other with characters, manner of communication, professionalism. I see. They did not inflate any scandal or hold a luxurious, million-dollar wedding with diamonds, expensive yachts or villas. No. They united, and their union is complemented by work. Moreover, even the date of the wedding is unknown to the audience, the hosts do not disclose it even when they give interviews. Most likely, they got married somewhere by 2012-13, because Zakhar was born later, by 2014. People will be interested in such professional, bright couples. Moreover, both are seen every time, with the releases of "60 minutes".

Rumors, facts, speculation

Interesting rumors about Skabeeva, actively spread. For example, that her father is Dmitry Kiselev himself, whom she allegedly supports. No, this is easy to refute, because Olga's patronymic is not Dmitrievna, but Vladimirovna. Therefore, with Kiselev, apart from work, nothing else connects her at all.

Further, people are worried about her wedding, because the date is unknown, the details are also a rare thing. Artists or presenters usually, on the contrary, live as openly as possible, posting hundreds of pictures, videos of the wedding. It doesn't even have a date. Only the fact of the accomplished ceremony.

Height, weight - yes, Olga gained weight when she was pregnant with Zakhar, but then, as the audience sees, she returned to her original, “pre-pregnant” figure. How? The presenter does not talk about methods, does not advertise specific means, only gives a formula known to everyone:

  • physical exercise;
  • proper nutrition;
  • proper cooking (for eating).
  • the girl’s weight itself is not known for certain, most likely 61 or 63 kg, she may not be a model or standard of harmony, but Olga managed to remove 15 kg after giving birth. Therefore, the current weight is an achievement;
  • Olga's eyes are ordinary, gray.

The parameters of the figure are also unknown reliably. It can only be seen that she is a beautiful, well-groomed woman, clearly loving sports.

Evgeny Popov is a well-known journalist, correspondent and TV presenter in Russia and abroad. Since 2016, with his wife Olga Skabeeva, he has been leading the popular program “60 Minutes” at the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.

Childhood and youth

The future journalist was born on September 11, 1978 in an intelligent family from Vladivostok. His father left the family early and went to Ukraine, where he lives to this day. Despite this, Zhenya never felt like "fatherless" and regularly saw his dad in Odessa during the summer holidays.

The boy was raised by his mother and grandmother, so he had to become independent early and take on male responsibilities in the family.

He studied well, already in his school years he became interested in journalism, and at the age of thirteen he first got on Primorsky Radio as the host of the Sacvoyage children's program. Then he hosted a news program, later moved to work on local television.

Mom, a philologist by education, worked all her life as an editor of printed publications, so she encouraged her son's passion in every possible way and was proud of his first successes in the journalistic field.

By the graduation class, Eugene had already clearly decided on the choice of his future profession and, having received a certificate of maturity, he became a student of the Faculty of Journalism of the DSU. During his studies, he continued to work on local television, already as a staff correspondent for a news program.

TV career

After graduating from high school, the young man was enrolled in the staff of the Far Eastern branch of Vesti and immediately went on his first business trip to North Korea, one of the most closed countries in the world. Brilliantly completing the editorial task, Popov returned to Vladivostok, and was soon transferred to Moscow, to the main office of Vesti.

In 2003, he was appointed as a special correspondent for the Rossiya channel in Ukraine. During the Orange Revolution, Yevgeny Georgievich was at the very epicenter of the ongoing events, reporting directly from the Kyiv Maidan.

In 2005, Evgeny returned to Moscow and became a political columnist for the Vesti Nedeli program at VGTRK.

Two years later, Popov went to the United States, where he headed the New York bureau of Vesti.

In 2013, Yevgeny returned to Moscow, but did not stay in the capital for long, and again went to Ukraine, where the flames of another revolution were already flaring up. Like nine years ago, Popov found himself at the very epicenter of events, only this time tires were blazing around, Molotov cocktails were flying, and Maidan activists reacted quite aggressively to journalists from Russia.

Returning to Moscow, Popov became the host of the author's program "News at 23:00". In parallel, he made reports for Arkady Mamontov's program "Special Correspondent", and also led discussions of the plots of this program with invited guests in a television studio. During the absence of Dmitry Kiselev, Evgeny replaced him as the host of Big Vesti on Sundays, and also hosted the evening Vesti on weekdays, alternating with political observer Andrei Kondrashov.

But the real finest hour for Popov came in 2016, when he and his wife Olga Skabeeva presented the new political show "60 Minutes" to a wide audience. Literally from the first releases, the program began to gather a huge audience from the screens.

It would seem, what might be of interest to the next political program, of which there are already many on Russian television? However, the audience immediately appreciated the quality of the topics proposed for discussion (as a rule, these are the hottest news, often coming directly from teletypes), a clear discussion compressed to the main details, and, no doubt, the personal charm and professionalism of the presenters, who manage to keep the situation under control and in an intelligent way, without stooping to insults, pacify the "hot heads".
