Tired of extended nails? Recommendations on how to remove them at home

The modern woman always looks her best. Various tricks help you maintain beauty at any time. There is no longer any need to dye your eyelashes every day and spend years growing gorgeous curls. All this can be purchased in just a couple of hours in a beauty salon. Women's hands can also remain well-groomed for a long time. For this, girls choose extensions.

Extended nails have a lot of positive aspects. They do not require correction for a long time (about three weeks). Throughout this period, the hands are well-groomed, and the natural plate is strengthened. But over time, you will want to change the design, shape, length or material used. To do this, you must first remove the artificial material. This can be done in the salon and at home.

Type of technology

Before removing extended nails, you need to find out what extension technologies exist. There are 5 types of them:

  1. Acrylic system. This method makes nails stronger and more elastic. They are quite thin, so they look very natural.
  2. Gel. This manicure has a beautiful glossy shine. This type of extension should be chosen by girls who have a soft natural plate by nature.
  3. Glue powder. A fairly fast way to build up. The manicure turns out matte, it resembles porcelain. This method involves the use of standard blanks.
  4. Fabric technology. To create such a manicure, you need fabric (fiberglass, silk). You won't be able to increase the length this way. The technology is used to repair acrylic or gel nails, or to strengthen the natural plate.
  5. Combination of gel and acrylic. This manicure is very durable and looks incredibly impressive.
  6. Gel polishes. This method was invented quite recently. It differs in that it is gentle on natural nails, strengthening them for a very long period (2-3 weeks). A very convenient and quick way to create a manicure.

Each of the procedures includes a polymerization reaction, that is, thickening of various materials. This allows you to make your nails incredibly strong. But to remove such a manicure, you will need time and certain materials.

How to properly remove acrylic nails

If the nails can no longer be corrected, they need to be removed, since the manicure no longer looks neat. This can be done using the following drugs and materials:

  • acrylic nail remover;
  • tip cutter or nail clippers;
  • pieces of foil measuring 10x10 for each finger;
  • cotton pads;
  • file for acrylic nails;
  • buff for polishing;
  • regular nail polish remover;
  • cuticle oil.

If everything you need is available, it’s time to remove your nail extensions. To remove them, you must do the following:

How to remove gel nails correctly

Gel nails are distinguished by their durability. The process of removing artificial material at home is somewhat more difficult than the same procedure for acrylic nails. You can remove gel nails in the following ways:

  • soaking nails;
  • cutting down artificial material;
  • removing gel;
  • sugar method.

The first method is very similar to the method of removing acrylic nails at home. Only slightly warmed acetone is required to remove the gel material. To do this, place a bottle of acetone in warm water. Be careful! This is a highly flammable material.

Second method. To do this you should do:

  1. Trim the free edge with a tip cutter.
  2. Using a coarse grain file, carefully file the surface of the nail. Movements should be smooth. This action can take a lot of time, but do not rush, as it is easy to damage the natural nail.
  3. Use a fine-grained file to remove any remaining material.
  4. Polish natural nails and moisturize them with a special product.

This method has a negative effect on the natural plate. Damage cannot be avoided. But they can be reduced by being slow and careful in doing the work.

Third method. It is very simple and does not require any additional materials. The gel begins to come off on its own after 2-3 weeks. He can only help. To do this you need:

  1. Pry up the edges of the gel. To do this, you should use a cuticle stick. This should be done extremely carefully, otherwise you can easily damage your nails.
  2. Carefully remove the gel, using tweezers to grab the free edge. There is no need to tear off the material, as the layer of natural nail will come off with it.
  3. Repeat this procedure with each finger.
  4. Shape and polish your nails.
  5. Moisten with a special product and cover with medicinal varnish.

Fourth method. A very unusual but effective method. You can remove extended nails with sugar:

  • Melt 150-200 g of sugar in the microwave or on the stove until the grains dissolve.
  • Cool the mixture to a temperature that allows you to dip your fingers into the melted sugar.
  • Dip your hands into the container and hold for 10-15 minutes.
  • Remove the gel using a spatula.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly.

This method is gentle on natural nails.

How to properly remove gel polish at home

The easiest way is to remove gel polish at home. For this you will need:

  • nail polish remover with acetone;
  • 10 pieces of foil measuring 10x10;
  • manicure spatula;
  • buff for polishing;
  • fine-grained file;
  • cuticle oil.

The method is the same as when removing acrylic nails. You just need to soak a cotton swab in nail polish remover, place it on your nails and wrap your fingers in foil. After 20-30 minutes, remove the softened material. Gel polish is easier to remove and the material does not remain on the natural platinum.

Nail care after extensions

Extended nails are very strong and beautiful. The same cannot be said about your nails after removing artificial materials. In order for your hands to quickly regain their well-groomed appearance, you need to take proper care of them.

During the first weeks, it is better to use preparations that contain natural ingredients, such as aloe, burdock, peach and others. There is no need to paint them with regular varnish. It is better to give your preference to special medicinal varnishes that can be bought at the pharmacy. They must contain protein. It quickly restores the structure, improves growth and evens out all the grooves.

It is also worth taking baths during recovery. To do this, dip your fingers for 10-15 minutes in a warm liquid, the composition of which can be varied. The most popular option is purified water with the addition of sea salt and lemon juice. You can also use herbal infusions such as medicinal chamomile. You can smear your nails with iodine at night. The next morning the yellowness will disappear, but the effect will exceed all expectations.

As you can see, you can remove extended nails at home without much difficulty. Everything needs to be done very carefully and slowly. Otherwise, your own nails will have to be treated for more than one month after such a procedure.
