Cala Meri is the daughter of the Kraken. Kraken is a legendary mythical sea monster of gigantic size, a cephalopod known from the descriptions of Icelandic sailors. Kraken is an animal "the size of a floating island", which is able to grab with its tentacles and drag even the largest warship to the bottom.

Its lower part is not in the shape of a mermaid's tail, but as a large blue tail with different shades and squid tentacles. It looks like she can stand on her own.

All previews are real and are distributed by Mattel to stores in electronic format. Perhaps we will even see some of these new products at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, but for now we will only look forward to the appearance of new dolls, unusual and very interesting.

First of all, let's start with one of the most unexpected collections, which simultaneously confirmed the new feature-length Monster High cartoon in 2016 - Great Scarrier Reef.

Great Scarrier Reef

The Great Scary Reef has been known to us since the start of the Monster School. First of all, because this place is the birthplace of Blue Lagoon. In the spring of 2016, a new sea adventure awaits us, and above all, it is very unusual and somewhat reminiscent of the Haunted cartoon. The Great Scary Reef itself is based on a real place - Australia.

Why does it resemble Haunted? For the reason that our heroes will again be reincarnated as other monsters, namely, sea creatures - mermaids. This is a rather bold and unusual decision on the part of Mattel, but only after the appearance of the first real photos, we will be able to understand for sure - have they done something really unique and interesting?

The Great Scarrier Reef collection features new characters that are quite unusual at first glance. Let's take a closer look at them.

New "Great Scarrier Reef" characters:

Peri & Pearl Serpentine | Peri & Pearl Serpentine

Pearl and Peri Serpentine are new characters from the Great Scarrier Reef cartoon. It is very difficult to say about them as "characters", and I want to call them one whole - after all, the doll has two heads and two necks on one body! How long have we been waiting for such a monster, there were a lot of custom and about. Miraculously, Mattel heard our prayers by introducing us to the new 2015 doll from the Great Scarrier Reef collection.

Pearl and Peri are the daughters of the hydra, and therefore the two-headedness is well justified. The name Pearl comes from the English word "Pearl", meaning "Pearl". Peri is supposedly derived from the word "Peri", meaning "to be near, in the neighborhood." Peri is right next door to Pearl, literally cheek to cheek. Their surname "Serpentine" is derived from "serpentine" - snake.

As you can see in the photo, the main feature of this doll is two heads on one body. The body itself is milky white with long fins on the elbows. The Pearl and Peri mold reminded many of the mold from the Monster Exchange collection. Whether they are single-mould molds or whether this is another hybrid of old molds - we will find out only after seeing real photos and comparisons of molds. Presumably, the head with the larger head of blue hair is Peri, and the one with more white hair is Pearl. However, we cannot say with confidence yet - this is just an assumption.

The body of the Serpentine sisters is long and thin, blue in color. The peculiarity of these bodies is the knee joint, which Sirena Von Boo did not have. On the tail are bright blue and purple fins. Whether the doll can stand on its own is a moot point. Most likely not, since Sirena had a large luxurious fin at the end of her tail, while Peri and Pearl seem to have a rather thin tail. The girls are wearing a black T-shirt with a multi-colored pattern and luxurious gold jewelry, which are fixed on the necks of each and on the belt.

The dolls have a funny duality - one head has blue hair and white streaks, while the other has white hair and blue streaks at the back. The eyes of both Serpentines are blue. Lipstick - dark purple and coral.

A big feature of the dolls is that they will glow in the dark (presumably their tails and fins). The approximate price of these beauties is 21.99 dollars (which is 1300 rubles at the time of writing).

Kala Mer'ri|Kala Mer'ri

Another new character is Kala Mar'ri, who we will see in the Great Scarrier Reef cartoon. The name and surname of Kala comes from the English word "calamary" - squid. Unlike the other girls, her lower half is not shaped like a mermaid tail, but rather a large blue tail with a pink/yellow gradient and squid tentacles. Judging by the structure of the tail, such a doll will be able to stand on its own, and perhaps its tentacles will also move. In addition, the doll glows in the dark.

The upper part of the doll is a rich purple color. Another feature of Kala is four hands, which in structure resemble the hands of Vaidona, who has six arms. Kala Mar'ri's face is a little puffy and formidable, which adds to her charm, coupled with bright red makeup and blue-orange hair. On three of the four hands she has bracelets - two long and one small. Perhaps there will be four of them on the original doll. In Kala's ears are blue earrings, and the outfit is quite unusual at all - a black and yellow open sweater with a throat. In the middle is a top and a blue belt.

Posea Reef|Posea Reef

After the departure of S. A. Cupid, the adopted daughter of Eros, the regiment of the daughters of the gods again arrived and this time, we were introduced to the daughter of Poseidon - Posi Reef. Her name is formed from two words "Poseidon" - Poseidon, her father and "Sea" - the sea. The surname is consonant with the name of the collection in which it is included - "Great Scarrier Reef". "Reef" is a reef, rocky elevations under or above water.

Posey Reef has a unique body again, like all the characters in the "Great Scarrier Reef" collection, new items from Monster High 2015. The base is a blue body with a bunch of tentacles braided with transparent algae and various sea creatures - crabs, seahorses, fish skeletons, eels and the like. A very interesting and unique body. Whether there are hinges in it is still unknown. Perhaps the base has the same knee joint as the previous new Monster High characters.

Posi Reef's body itself is pale blue. Unlike Peri and Pearl, there are no fins on her arms, only transparent green bracelets. The upper part is covered with a purple top with a multi-colored pattern, on top of which there is an unusual decoration in the form of purple corals. She has blue octopus earrings in her ears, which is pretty cute. Posy Reef's eyes are pale blue, and her lips are accentuated with dark crimson lipstick.

Her hair is long and dyed dark crimson with a touch of dark turquoise. Part of her hair is tied up in an unusual curl, on top of which there is an ornament that looks like a black fork. Is it a reference to Ariel, who so much enjoyed combing her hair with a fork? :)

Judging by the structure of the body, it can be assumed that the doll will be able to stand on its own. Posi Reef will definitely glow, as we are promised in the preview, presumably her tail and jewelry. The approximate cost of the doll at the moment is 19.99 dollars (which at the rate of 30.06 equals 1200 rubles).

Other characters

In addition to three new characters, among the previews of the new Monster High 2015, there were three main characters of the Monster High line - Laguna Blue, Toralei Stripe and Frankie Stein. However, the "Great Scarrier Reef" series pleased us not just with the next main characters in changing outfits, but with characters that turned into real mermaids of various subspecies. It sounds rather strange, but this collection gives us the opportunity to see the main characters in new images. Whether there will be other heroes in the form of mermaids is still unknown, because Mattel always has a couple of trump cards in the form of surprises up his sleeve.

Blue Lagoon

It is rather unusual to see Laguna as a mermaid, knowing that she is the daughter of sea monsters. Yes, Laguna can swim even without a mermaid tail, but who knows - all of a sudden, you need to be a mermaid for a completely different purpose? :)

The biggest difference is, of course, the large blue tail with transparent patterned wings on its back and a huge patterned fin at the end of the tail. The tail itself is covered with a multi-colored print of whimsical patterns of pink and yellow flowers.

It is very interesting if the doll will be able to stand by itself, just like in the preview. In addition to the tail, another feature of this collection is the glow in the dark. Perhaps the doll will only glow in the tail, or maybe her jewelry or even her eyes will also gleam in the dark.

Laguna's skin in the promotional photo for the new Great Scarrier Reef collection appears more bluish than usual. The fins on the arms have become larger and of a different shape, as well as being made of darker plastic. From clothes - a small blue topic with a throat to match the tail with a pink pattern, and on top - a fuchsia-colored jewelry in the form of a jellyfish, braiding her arm, neck and connecting with a belt. There is a noticeable difference in the make-up - the eyelashes have become larger and more predatory, the eyes are lined with pale pink shadows, and the lips are blue. The hairstyle is quite simple - a high ponytail, but at the same time the hair of three colors - blond, blue and crimson. It seems that Mattel liked to change the color of the strands in Laguna in each collection.

Toralei Stripe

It was rather unusual to see our kitty in the Great Scarrier Reef marine collection as one of the mermaids. However, it's quite funny to combine a cat and a sea creature, sending it to the depths of the sea. Perhaps we are waiting for a lot of jokes on this topic and how Toralei cope with such a long fish tail. Like Laguna, Toralei has three points of articulation of the mermaid tail - the upper one, which connects the normal body with the tail, the knee joint and the tail joint.

Toralei, of course, predominantly features orange and black, which are perfect for her. Its special part, the tail. made in red color - the top is a little darker, the bottom is a little lighter. The upper part is also painted in black stripes, and the fins at the end of the tail alternate with red and black transparent plastic. There are also fins on her back in the form of thin small orange-black fins with the addition of white stripes. Another unique detail is Torah's "Great Scarrier Reef" red handles with fins.

The make-up consists of green shadows and pale orange lipstick, which looks pretty good in such a marine look. Toralei's hairstyle is a red ponytail with black strands, braided back. The bangs are missing.

Frankie Stein

Another unusual member of the Monster High 2015 novelty team is Frankie Stein. Pretty amazing - Frankie, are you in the water too? But will she kill everyone there with a discharge? But I hasten to reassure you - there is still a place reserved for her in the role of an eel-like mermaid. It is unlikely that Mattel will leave a hole in the Great Scarrier Reef plot and not substantiate this fact. Or maybe just use it to your advantage? For example, Frankie will start a discharge and lightly fry the main villain, who is still unknown to us. The preview is most likely a prototype, as many of Frank's details - scars and bolts are simply missing, and the face is drawn quite crookedly and looks more like a prototype than the final version. Don't worry - this often happens even with late previews, when prototypes or defective dolls get on promo.

It is worth noting right away that, as we saw above, everyone has different tails - and this is very delightful. Frankie's tail is a pale turquoise that borders on green. On the tail below are blue fins and the tail on top is painted in yellow lightning. We can't see it in the preview, but apparently the tail is long and thin, like an eel's. The doll glows in the dark.

Frankie "Great Scarrier Reef" has fins on her hands, but none between her fingers. They are not on the art either, so perhaps this is not a mistake - but an idea. After all, eels don't have fins like fish do. The top is quite simple - a blue T-shirt with a print of zippers, like branches growing all over the print. On top of the shirt is a small black belt. The make-up is quite calm - pale purple shadows and red lipstick. Her hair kind of reminds us of Frankie from the Swim Class collection - blue is added to her usual hair color, and her hair is pulled back in a ponytail.

Ghoul's Getaway

One line purportedly related to the Great Scarrier Reef is Ghoul's Getaway, which suddenly appeared among the new products of 2015. The name itself is rather ambiguous. On the one hand, it means an escape somewhere, on the other hand, a vacation. However, vacation is an escape from school workdays, therefore, we will not get hung up on this.

Three monsters have been announced in the collection: Jinafire Long, who has become frequent with the appearance in new collections, Spectra Wondergeist and suddenly, Meowlody, for whom her twin Purrsephone has not been announced.

The first association that comes when looking at this collection is aboriginal fashion. Decorations, patterns - everything suggests the idea of hot islands and bright tribes, the indigenous inhabitants of this island. That is why I suggested that this collection is associated with the Great Scarrier Reef. Let's look at the girls, bright and tropical, which cannot but rejoice in such hot weather.

Jinafire has a rather unusual image - first of all, in addition to purple and red, pale yellow is used. Makeup dark - made in purple. Green hair with black streaks and straight bangs, which looks great on Gina in the new Ghoul's Getaway collection. On top is an ornament with a purple flame at the back, reminiscent of tribal ornaments with feathers or bones. Jinafire wears whimsical purple earrings in her ears, and bracelets of the same color complement the purple set. The dress itself is dark red with a purple-yellow pattern. It is worth taking a closer look at the pattern itself - but there are masks of natives and a tribe, to which they may well fall during their adventure. Perhaps our guesses about the tropical adventure are not so far from the truth?

On top of the dress is a pale yellowish decoration, passing from the neck to the belt, decorated with the same masks and flames. On the feet of the new Jinafire doll are red open shoes, which, apparently, also have one mask in front. Quite an interesting and unusual image.

Spectra, on the other hand, is more overloaded with massive details than Ginafire Long and Meowlody from the 2015 wave of new products. First of all, these are massive yellow chains that adorn both her head and upper body. Chains also appear in earrings, loading her image a little. In addition to the chains, large pink flowers are applied to the jewelry. Spectra Wondergeist's hair in this collection is a bright purple shade with side-swept bangs.

The shadows of Spectra's "Ghoul's Getaway" doll are blue with pale pink lipstick, it looks very good and beautiful in her image. The dress is short, sleeveless, bright yellow. Covered with a yellow-purple pattern of flowers and chains. On the feet of the novelty are high shoes with an unusual golden sole with bright pink flowers.

Meowlody also became a kind of surprise for those who are used to seeing her only in sets with Purrsefona. It is not yet known if Purrsefona will still appear in the Ghoul's Getaway collection, or perhaps this will be the first solo debut of a Purrsefona doll in 2015. Meowlody's hair is slicked back and adorned with an orange wreath of tropical flowers, and a long red earring can be seen on her ear. At first glance, the hair does not show the additional "striped" color that was used in the early Monster High collections. On the shoulders there is an orange decoration, similar to the pendants made of bones and various twigs worn by the natives. The images are quite unusual and, most importantly, the theme is easily recognized through small details.

Meowlodia's dress is as simple as her "friends" in the collection - it's black, short, and covered in patterns of fish skeletons, scratches, and the like. On his feet are orange shoes with a fish skeleton and on the shoulder part of his arm are red bracelets.

Boo York, Boo York: The Monsterrific Musical!

As strange as it may seem to mention this collection, which is 90% already released, Mattel suddenly presented us with a small surprise in the form of a 3-pack set "City Ghouls". Surprisingly, in this set there were not the usual main characters in the form of Claudine, Frankie or Draculaura, but new characters in their urban, simple outfits - , and This is rather unusual for the reason that new characters never came out immediately in the same collections in a set, also in other clothes.

At the moment, there is no high-quality promo for this set, only a small preview from the Mattel service site with a description of the set. As you can see, the box is the largest among the Boo York, Boo York boxes. There are already three signs on the usual lantern and art - three at once: Luna, Mausedes and Elle. We have already seen these arts on the official website of Monster High, which showed us the everyday outfits of monsters. Attention, those outfits that dolls from single boxes wear are concert, not ordinary. As you remember, all three were at the celebration in honor of the arrival of the Crystal Comet.

Luna in this set has everything the same - both antennae and wings, but the outfit is more modest. But, there are wonderful glasses in the form of a huge moth. The dress itself is completely gone in her favorite Gothic style and a night city is depicted on the hem. Instead of high boots - small black boots. Her hair is pulled back in a ponytail, her hairstyle has not been changed much, despite the profile art, where her bangs are completely absent. There are fewer accessories this time, especially for those who would like a doll, but for whom all this glamor and sparkle of Bu-York sparkling costumes has become a bone in the throat.

Mausedes is the same as in her previous version - on a small body and with chic pale pink curls. A cute blue band sticks out of her hair, which makes Mausedes even younger in our eyes. She is dressed quite simply - in a yellow T-shirt and a turquoise skirt with a fancy pattern. It is possible that this is a one-piece dress, but to say for sure - you need to wait for real photos. On her feet are pale red shoes with ribbons tied at the top with a bow. Very cute and good image.

Elle Edie is amazing. Her hair and face are practically the same as her other friends, but her outfit is luxurious, real Boo York modern fashion! She has a turquoise robo-style jewelry around her neck. Her dark turquoise dress is printed with wires and various circuit boards. A short blue jacket is worn over the top. Of particular pride are purple high boots, which many wanted and were very upset that it was the live versions that came out.

Monster Exchange Wave 2 Second wave.

As soon as the first wave of Monster Exchange with Lorna, Marisol, Draculaura and Laguna came out, we were presented with the next one, which will include as many as three new characters and one old, but no less beloved. There are no good previews yet, but one of the store employees showed a page from the electronic catalog sent by Mattel. On it we see four new Monster High 2015 - Isi Downdenser, Kjersti Trollsonn and Betsy Claro. The fourth shadow is not a new student at all, but Finnegan Wake, who is also an exchange student and entered Monster High after hearing a lot of good things about this school. But we’ll talk more about each a little later, and at the same time we’ll analyze their unusual and wonderful names.

The second wave of Exchange Students will be released in the second half of July, after Comic-Con. Perhaps we will see these dolls at Comic-Con itself, which will be held from July 9 to 11. The Monster High panel will be unveiled with a new movie - July 11th!

Each girl and Finnegan comes with a bag and, most likely, coasters and a diary. As for Finnegan, it is not known whether he will have a stand, since he is sitting in his wheelchair and, in fact, it may well serve as a kind of stand for him.

Isi Dawndancer/Isi Dawndancer

Isi Downdenser is the daughter of a deer spirit. Her deer origin is hidden not only in the image, but also in her name "Isi" - which literally means "deer, deer-like." The surname "Dawndancer" would literally be translated as "Dancing until the morning, dancing until dawn." In addition to the name characteristic of Native Americans, Isi looks appropriate - she is directly saturated with the Indian spirit. Isi is from Bu Hexico, New Mexico.

First of all, Ishi is brown in color with ears, but she has no horns - instead, the horns are located on a red-colored decoration. Her hair is dark blue, somewhat similar in color to Nefera's. There are no bangs, and the face is painted partially white, which can be seen both in the promo and in the art.

Ishi's red jacket with a traditional pattern from a distance resembles a poncho. The sleeves are very wide, which creates such an impression on a slightly blurry preview. The image is complemented by long black pants with patterns up to the very turquoise shoes. Hoof, as expected - no. A bag of turquoise rounded color, presumably similar to a tambourine or a dream catcher.

Kjersti Trollson/Kjersti Trollson

Kjersti is the daughter of a troll from Norway (Horvegia). The most difficult thing is her name, which someone reads as Kjersti, someone as Cersti, and someone as Kjersti. Let's understand a little. First of all, the name is Scandinavian, Norwegian. However, in American slang there is a very interesting word "Kjersti", which has little to do with Norway and primarily refers to a sweet American girl - cool, witty and very funny. If the slang word in this case is correct, we can assume what kind of character the troll will have. Trollsonn (for some reason, Mattel goes with both Trollson and Trolsonn) is another reference to her roots with the familiar Scandinavian suffix "son" and "troll" - a troll. The suffix "son" translates the whole surname as "Son of the Troll", but it sounds rather strange given that Kjersti is a girl.

Kjersti is made on a pink child's body, according to the preview it is darker than Draculaura. For some reason, the helmet-hat, as in the art above, is not presented in the preview, but it will probably just go side by side in the box or appear in the final version. The hat itself is very reminiscent of a Viking helmet, but apparently, Kjersti "Monster Exchange" does not have horns, and they will only be on the hat.

Trollson's theme is gamergirl, gamer girl. She has pixelated glasses that look triangular in the preview. The hair is fluffy and voluminous, with a small strand falling over the forehead. Painted in pink and blue. In the drawing, Kjersti's eyes also look like pixelated ones, and we hope that this will also remain on the doll. Betsy Claro/Batsy Claro

Betsy Claro is the daughter of a white vampire bat, often referred to as a shikaka. "Batsy" is primarily from the very name of the bat in English - "Bat". Claro has several meanings. One of the most suitable in Spanish is "Light, light yellow." Betsy is from Costa Shrika (Costa Rica). The skin of the doll in the preview is pale pink with a red blush where the bridge of the nose should be. Her hair is white and light green, a strand of which is knocked out from under a green herbal bandage with a white bat. Betsy's wings are unusual and patterned, light pink in color. They dressed Betsy in a green blouse, a bright skirt with a multi-colored print and rather strange open shoes, on the side of which long pieces of rubber or plastic of the shoes protrude.

Finnegan Wake (Wake) / Finnegan Wake (Rider / Rider)

Finnegan Wake is the son of a mermaid and a minor character who appeared quite a long time ago, in the third season of the Monster High series, but according to the results of a fan vote, he got a chance to become a doll. Just a day ago, he entered the company of new Monster High products, which should appear in 2015. Conventionally, he is included in the Monster Exchange collection as the fourth and final character. Whether it will be exclusive is still unknown.

As some know, Finnegan used to be called simply Rider / Rider. It was given an official name for a fan vote, and ironically, it is almost verbatim related to the James Jones novel Finnegans Wake, which was originally spelled Finnegans Wake. Got a link?)

Art and doll Finnegan Wake:

Finnegan was a success for Mattel - a very huge resemblance to the original, as we can see in the art in comparison with the photo above.

One of the big features of the 2015 novelty is that Finnegan is not just a merman, but a merman in a wheelchair. Do not immediately call him "invalid" - Finnegan may well move on his own, but not on land. Since the Siren is a ghost, she can fly, but Finnegan has to act on his own, spinning the wheels. This is the reason for his powerful upper body, painted in blue and large hands. On his hands are drawn black gloves, as well as tattoos. A bandage was put on over his right hand, which we also see on art. Finnegan wears a yellow jersey with the number "01" on it, and swim goggles with a brown elastic band around his neck.

The tail of the winner of the Monster High fan vote is blue, but thinner than on art. Perhaps the mobility of the tail did not allow the company to make a wider version of it, since the tail has three points of articulation (as in the Great Scarrier Reef collection) - the connecting part (with the body), the knee joint and the tail. Another feature - on Finnegan's head - is a tightly patched mohawk. But unlike the same Gil or Deuce, he does not have scales. Eyebrows, eyes and lips are blue. Many are dissatisfied with the fact that on the profile art he smiles broadly, but the doll does not have this smile. The lips are quite well molded, which is why his facial expression becomes neutral. A smile would just ruin the face.

Finn's stroller is a special piece that we've all been looking forward to. It was made according to all the canons - a black wheelchair with silver handles. There are small wheels in front, and huge wheels with orange plastic flames in the back. A brown backpack is hung behind, which once again says that Mattel approached this character very carefully and did not forget all the details that we saw in the series.

Finnegan Wake becomes the first wheelchair doll in the Monster High line. As you know, Mattel also produced similar dolls before, for example,

Fright-Mares, Wave 2

Not so long ago we saw the first wave of Fright-Mares, and the second wave has already arrived. Let's take a look at these unique and funny little creatures. In Russian localization, these horses have already received the name "Monster Centaurs". The second wave also consists of four centaurs: Flara Blaze, Penepole Steamtail, Skyla Bonesgate and Fountain Fallowheart.

Centaurs do not have joints in their hands, but there is a joint in the area of the belt and the hooves can, in principle, be moved, even if they do not have additional points of articulation, like Avia Trotter. All their clothes are either ornaments or are painted on their bodies. Each centaur is not just a multi-colored horse, but also a hybrid with another monster - ghosts, butterflies, pegasi and the like.

Flara Blaze/Flara Blaze

Flara Blaze is a phoenix from the 2015 Fright-Mares collection. As always, let's take a closer look at the name. Flara comes from the name "Clara" and the word "Flare" - flash, burn with a bright flame. "Blaze" - radiance. Literally, her first and last name could be translated as "Bright radiance or flash of flame", but the names are not translated literally :)

The centaur part of Flare is bright crimson, and the tail is bright orange with flames. The hind leg is covered in a flame feather pattern, and the front legs have two orange feather-style ornaments. Part of the normal body is painted orange, and on top of the preview is a red T-shirt with an orange pattern (although the art shows purple). A purple neckline is thrown over the shoulders, and chic golden phoenix wings are inserted at the back, bright and detailed. The hair in the preview is dark red, and in the middle is a purple feather comb (red hair on the art).

Penepole Steamtail/Penepole Steamtail

Penepole Steamtail is a butterfly, so it has bronze wings with gears visible on the back. The first association that comes with the name "Penepole" is a corrupted version of the name "Penelope" - Penelope. "Steamtail" is divided into two parts "Steam" - "steam" (remember Steampunk) and "Tail" - tail.

Penepoul we have a kind of unicorn, and therefore she has a pink horn on her head, the color of the entire main body. The centaur's body is dark crimson, very similar in color to Flare Blaze, another new addition to 2015 from the Fright-Mares series. Penepole's tail is purple and swirling like a cloud of steam, and the hind hoof has yellow cog and swirl patterns. On the front hooves there are blue decorations with the same "steampunk" theme - various straps, gears, curls. On the belt is an ornament with chains and a gear in green, and on the body is a blue T-shirt with molded straps and a yellow pattern with a gear. Another feature of this Nightmare Horse is yellow glasses, which other horses have not yet had.

Skyla Bouncegate/Skyla Bouncegait

Skyla Bounsgate is a ghost and a centaur. The main feature of this Monstro-Centaur is its transparency - both the main body and the centaur part are made of transparent plastic. The name "Skyla" is American. In slang, "Skyla" means a trusting and very caring person who will never betray you. Also, her name can be associated with the word "Sky" - the sky. "Bouncegait" can be disassembled into "Bounce" - cheerfulness, as well as "Gait" - gait, horse running.

Skyla's face is pale blue with blue eyes and lips. The main body is made of translucent blue plastic. The lower centaur part is made of milky-white transparent plastic. The tail is blue and decorated with a bow. On the back hooves we see a blue pattern with a horn, and on the front - shoes with pom-poms. In addition to this, Skyla is dressed in a blue and white cheerleader outfit with a silver belt from which a horseshoe and weights hang. All these details create an image of a cheerful and bright ghost cheerleader. Isn't it very cute?

Skyla has small horns on her head, and her blue-violet hair is braided into two perky ponytails.

Fountain Fallowheart/Fawntine Fallowheart

Fountain Fallowheart is a deer. This can be understood from her name, because "Faun" means a deer. "Fallow" means brownish-yellow, and the whole surname is possibly a modified expression of "Follow Heart" - follow the heart.

The main feature of the deer is its huge brown antlers with white birds and bird skulls. In the middle, the horns are decorated with pink flowers. The head is a pale brown, while the body is a lighter and warmer brown. Fountain's eyes are green, like her freckles, and her lips are pink. Eyebrows are very unusual - they are drawn like small branches. The hair, on the contrary, is very light, with green strands at the back. The body of a centaur is dark brown with a deer tail. The body is painted with a green pattern of leaves and vines, while the sash and front hoof embellishments also mimic leaves and vines, creating a forest look for Fountain from the second wave of Fright-Mares releases coming in 2015. The topic is also drawn on the body - it is pink with a green leaf pattern.

Budget Dolls/Budget Dolls Line

At the end of June 2015, a rather unusual line of dolls was suddenly announced, which caused a rather negative reaction from the majority of the Monster High community. First of all, because this line is a simplified version of dolls that have no joints in their hands, very simple hairstyles and outfits, as well as repetitive shoes.

It must be said right away that such lines are developed primarily for children. The absence of hinges in the hands allows the child to play with the doll and not tear off her arms or hands, losing them. The absence of hinges and simplicity allows the company to set a lower price than for a regular doll. At the moment, these dolls have a preliminary price of 9.99 dollars, which, translated into rubles, is about 500-600 rubles per doll.

The accessories and shoes of the dolls are not dyed, the clothes used are old fabric from other collections. All the girls are dressed in small dresses, rather simple and not overloaded.

Ula's hair is long, without extra colors (except for her usual pink) and there is no bangs. She has small pink shoes and a plaid dress with a pink collar and white sleeves. GiGi wears golden pointed-toe shoes in her usual style and a small blue and pink dress. The hair is pulled back into a ponytail.

Claudine's hair is loose and a purple streak is added, like Skarizhskaya or Freaky Field Trip. The dress is made from a purple fabric similar to the one used in the Coffin Bean collection. On top is a green belt and green boots from the School's Out collection, but in this case they are repainted. Frankie has no bangs, with blue streaks added to her white and black hair. The makeup is a bit reminiscent of the "School's Out" collection with dark eyeshadow and lipstick. Frankie is wearing a blue dress, the top of which is made of mesh, and the bottom is made of fabric with a diamond pattern. The bracelet on her left arm completes her look and goes well with the red tie. On her feet are simple shoes, also red.

The heads of the monsters look completely out of the budget and quite interesting, however, as well as their outfits. However, it is worth recognizing that this collection is not useless - the price of dolls will be useful for people who make OOAKs and want to practice on the original, on which it is not a pity to make a mistake, or just try and for those whose parents cannot afford the original doll or do not want to spend money. Such a budget version of Monster High dolls will appeal to young children who want the doll to be original and look like his or her favorite character. So far, only Draculaura, GiGi, Claudine and Frankie have been announced in the budget line. Perhaps, if the budget dolls sell well, other characters of the budget cheap Monster School line are waiting for us.

Scarnival / Scary Carnival

The very name of the collection became known just recently, as well as confirmation of this collection. We've already seen Skelita Calaveras and Claude Wolfe too - Skelita's prototype was shown along with Frankie's "Freak Du Chic" prototype, while Claude's only showed the side of the box. However, the latest episode of the animated series showed us their real outfits, which means we can look forward to these Monster High novelties this year.

If monsters from Ghoul Fair make money, then Scarnival is dedicated to Freak Du Chic fair and various entertainments on it.

Skelita Calaveras/Skelita Calaveras

Daughter of Skeletons - Skelita, pleased us with a new prototype. However, you will be surprised - what a novelty it is if the fabric is taken from River Stix. I hasten to dissuade you - for prototypes, old heads and old fabric are often used to sew the first trial outfits and make the first trial firmware before starting a full-fledged work. Or perhaps Skelita just got into another workshop and was stitched with River fabric, but it will not go on sale in this form.

Along with Skelita, there are cups and a ball, which is one of the famous guessing games. where is the ball.

What will be the new Skelita Calaveras "Scarnival" doll, we can see in the screenshot of the animated series Monster High - Freak Du Chic. Act 2:

First of all, it is an unusual red-turquoise strand and a tail of hair pulled to one side. The shadows around the eyes are turquoise, the lips are red. The dress is the same style as in the box, but dyed differently, in a Mexican style. The base of the dress is orange, the patterns are greenish and red, and a bow is tied at the waist.

Most likely, the Scarnival collection is strongly associated with Freak Du Chic, since we already saw them in these outfits already at the show.

Claude Wolf / Clawd Wolf

Claude became a kind of surprise, which remains for us still an unsolved mystery. From what was shown, we saw only the side of the box with art, but on the other hand, Claude also appeared in the new series of the animated series, which means that we can consider him in a little more detail.

Claude in the animated series:

He wears the same turquoise cap as the base one, a turquoise dynamometer hammer, and a yellow sleeveless shirt with gray stripes and a bone pattern. Pants in dark gray with suspenders. At the fair, Claude will obviously have fun testing his strength.

Draculaura appeared next to him and also in an unusual outfit, although her skirt is clearly from the base one. Whether Ula herself will appear in the Scarnival collection is unknown. But in the Freak Du Chic or Ghoul Fair line, she did not appear, unlike her friends Claudine or Frankie. Will they give her another chance?

Monster High Vinyls

Abbey Bominable/Abbey Bominable:

Abby's figurine replicates her basic outfit and above all is covered in glitter, just like the doll itself. On her head is her fur headdress, and her long white hair with painted stripes of three colors falls down to her feet and is a holding force for the figure. It differs little from the base doll, with the exception of convex details and the absence of fur frills on the arms and legs.

Rochelle Goyle/Rochelle Goyle:

Rochelle came out pretty cute and made like all the figures in her basic version. The figurine has both ears and wings, as well as a black headband over long pink hair with blue streaks. Compared to other monsters in the collection of vinyl figures, Rochelle's hair is the least "fluffy" and not as massive.

Deuce Gorgon

Deuce Gorgon was the first boy to appear in the Monster High Vinyls line. He has huge massive snakes and, unlike girls, his hair does not reach the floor. However, his body is not much different from the body of the girls - it is just as thin and the legs increase to the very bottom. The hands are slightly larger, and on the face are red glasses. His pose is different from other figures - it is more dynamic. Venus McFlytrap/Venus McFlytrap

Venus came out especially cute - she is made in delicate pink and green colors, just like the others, repeating her basic doll version. A noticeable difference from other Vinyls is the plastic shaved side. The vines of Venus in this case are not convex, but traced on the figurine itself.

Chase figurines are distinguished by a rather unusual design with patterns that suit this character in terms of theme. Of the chase figures, we have already seen Frankie and Draculaura, and now we have been introduced to Venus. This Venus has completely green hair and is more "varnished". The body itself is completely black, the eyes or mouth of the doll are not drawn. But flowers, vines and flycatchers of a green and blue-pink gradient are drawn all over the body.

Draculaura with snap-on fashions

An interesting figurine, a bit like Draculaura from the Monster High anime. At the moment, apart from a promotional photo, nothing is known about her. Perhaps the next Comic-Con in San Diego will show us the cards for this little and cute Draculaura.

The figure is made in black and pink and has a rather cute style, reminiscent of anime heroines - big eyes with huge pupils. The figure has articulated arms and legs and is slightly smaller than the doll itself, as seen in the preview of the new Monster High figure.

Details of the figurine, such as hair, are removable, which means that they can be changed and put on other details, combined with each other. Clothes are also removable, made of plastic and fastened to the body of the figure. Perhaps, such figurines will be designed for children, and perhaps for collectors who are not indifferent to anime and who are very pretty gothic lolitas and kawaii vampires.

Big Nightmare Reef doll Laguna Blue "Underwater inhabitant" - review

Greetings.

This review is dedicated to the gorgeous and terribly cute little mermaid Laguna Blue from the Great Nightmare Reef collection.

The "budget" collection of little mermaids "Glowsome Ghoulfish" ("Underwater inhabitants" in the Russian version) includes only old, already familiar characters: Laguna Blue, Toralei Stripe, Frankie Stein (Draculaura and Claudine came out a little later and were "separated" from the first three ).

So, according to the plot of the cartoon, our heroes fell into a whirlpool that suddenly appeared in the school pool, and as a result they became mermaids.

A mermaid is a character of Slavic mythology, representing the spirit of a woman or a young girl, often a drowned woman, with very long hair, guarding forests, fields or any bodies of water, or even drowning people. The legends and myths of the peoples of Europe tell about the Sea Maidens - the same mermaids, however, unlike Slavic myths, they have a fish tail instead of legs. In fact, there is no specific image of a mermaid: she can be humanoid, with a fish tail, and a restless spirit, or even an ugly woman.

But now about the lighter and more iridescent - let's move on to the review of the doll directly.

I'll start with the box.

Most of the packaging is a display part of a wavy embossed blister, which opens up an overview of the doll from four sides. Only the backdrop, the MH logo adorned with a tentacle, and the heroine art with the title of the series in different languages are made of cardboard instead of one large logo of the series. By the way, I personally don't really like this art - it's too crazy. But I managed to find a very beautiful Mattel's art of the Little Mermaid Lagoon ( see the photo below in the article).

The doll is made in Indonesia.

It was difficult to unpack the doll - you need to cut off the fasteners of the blister. At the bottom of the box, it is indicated that the doll's arms and wings are detached, and the tail fin is attached, which was originally detached from the tail. Also there is hidden instructions with drawings of dolls of the entire series.

The blister is the main part of the package, so you can see the doll from different angles.

Now we can move on to the doll itself.

I also managed to find a photo of the same Laguna with her hair loose and curled. Looks great and very pretty!

Laguna's skin color is normal for her - a very pale blue with a grayish tinge. Mold of the doll of 2008 with a new very bright make-up: the shadows on the moving eyelid are light yellow, then pink almost to the eyebrows, made like a lot of specks. These dots also go above the eyebrows and under the eyes. Above the pink specks, yellow-orange ones flash, but in a small amount. The lips are blue and as if closed. The corners of the printed lips are higher than the corners of the mold, but the doll does not look smiling. Neat freckles of Laguna nicely complement the bright make-up.

Lagoon's blond hair was diluted with large and noticeable strands of contrasting colors - blue and hot pink. They go from the temples, two of each color, as well as in a strand twisted into a bundle, going into a high tail, twisted from below. The hair is slightly slicked up, but there is an effect of oiliness and the hair seems to be a bit heavy.

Part of the hairstyle is a flagellum that goes from the forehead and straight to the tail.

In this issue, Laguna looks surprised and even a little sly.

The pattern of shadows on the eyelids is partly akin to dot patterns on the dorsal fin of a sailboat.

Ears without holes for earrings - only a basting for them.

The fins of Laguna this time are of a different shape - long, wavy and non-removable. Part of the arm from the elbow to the wrist is probably molded to match the color of the fins, and the loan is painted to match the skin of the doll. The fins are bright blue, with a pearly sheen. In the light, they are very beautiful, because they are translucent and seem to shine. The membranes are not painted in any way - they are just the color of the doll's body.

Now the fun part is the mermaid tail.

The prototype of the mermaid image of Laguna is a sailfish. The tail fin of Laguna is very similar in shape to the fin of this fish, but the puppet tail is more graceful and ornate.

The tail is dark blue, with reliefs of scales. The front of the tail has patterns of pink and yellow flowers to match the makeup. The tail fin is the same color as the doll's fins and looks just as beautiful in the light.

The tail is hollow inside, which makes the doll lighter. It has three points of articulation: near the hips, the doll can be tilted forward, but not back, thereby planting it; in the "knee" you can not only bend the tail, but also turn it around its axis, just like the shoulder joints; the tail fin also rotates and bends in any direction. On it the doll should stand. But Laguna can stand on the tail only when it is pulled back. The caudal fin is impressively huge: standing on a straightened fin, Laguna reaches a height of about 40 cm! Above all dolls in the series.

The wings, or as I call them "dorsal fins", are paler in color than the caudal fin. They are also not very transparent. But on the other hand, they glow in the dark with a green light, and at the same time very brightly. They can be detached from the doll and put back on, but I decided not to risk anything and not break anything.

The doll can sit this way, but a back support is required. But if you place the handles, then she calmly sits on her own.

The patterns on the tail are not similar to those of a sailboat, so they can be considered quite peculiar.

The belt is removed.

Laguna's new fins are wavy and very long, just like her prototype sailfish.

In the light, the fins are magnificent!

The wings-fins on the back are similar to the dorsal fin of a sailfish, but on the doll they are girlishly small and torn in a montric style.

The doll's outfit is only a top with an "inverted" V-neck at the bottom and a high neck. It has two Velcro: on the throat and on the back, respectively. The top is made from a pleasant to the touch stretchy fabric in dark blue with hot pink starfish patterns.

Each wing moves independently of each other.

Glow in the dark is very beautiful!

Laguna has not only the highest "height" among the budget series, but also the largest number of jewelry: large beads with a flower similar to the flower clip of the base Laguna; bracelet to match the beads; "belt" covering the junction of the body of the doll and the tail of the fish.

Now you can sum up and name the pros and cons.

Pros: the doll stands on her own, she has glow-in-the-dark parts, she doesn't need shoes, she is more mobile than the first MH mermaids (as well as the whole series of Underwater inhabitants).

Cons: oily hair. Also, the Laguna itself often collapses and needs to be moved so that it finally stands straight.

Personally, I like both the character and the doll. Before this doll, I was indifferent to Laguna, but in the form of a little mermaid, she conquered me. I consider her the perfect mermaid with all her fins and webs, long tail and fish face. If you are looking for your perfect mermaid or Laguna in an absolutely fresh look, then I can safely recommend this doll to you.

Well, this is how Scary Reef Lagoon is with her hair loose and combed. We immediately see a hint of the waviness of some strands.

I pretty much tormented her in order to make a semblance of a more or less beautiful hairstyle. These are just samples, of course.

A completely unusual discovery was a parting closer to the right half of the head. Parting to the crown, that is, to the middle of the head.

I didn’t expect the parting at all, I thought that the head was sewn all the way and only the strands that used to be a tourniquet were sewn a little distantly. And it's out as it turned out.

Now about the thing that confuses me a little - the firmware. It's somewhere in the middle.

This is the left half of the head, everything seems to be in order.

But on the right side it’s more problematic, but since these dolls are considered budget, then they are forgiven.

Now the result.
The hair is oily, but after combing everything is at least better. They are heavy, because of this they do not fit, bristle, this is also the reason for the visibility of the firmware where it is not needed. They don't urinate.
Long, soft and very pleasant to the touch. Parting is generally lovely.

Yes, I have been following all the news for a long time, where Zombie Gaga flashed. Previously, I really liked the work of this singer, her images, now it just attracts me a little. The song "Telefone" is my favorite at the moment. The doll simply captivated, even despite the more delicate image than in the video. They tried their best, did something interesting, worthy of attention.
I have already washed little Jade's things by hand, dried them on a radiator, but I have no more experience in washing doll clothes. I think it's like handkerchiefs or socks: carefully, with your own hands, wash with water and soap, as you wrote, and also gently dry and admire the result.
Katie would like to change clothes, her shoes are beautiful, even classic, the outfit is also beautiful, but I would like to see something more calm and subdued on her.

To be honest, I am not familiar with her work at all, I can’t even imagine that she sings. Probably, on the radio in transport, I ever came across if it was played, but I didn’t listen to it separately. Just a familiar name. But the doll, of course, impressed.

Today the whole day was devoted to dolls. First it was necessary to undress everyone, then distribute what to do with whom. Then the clothes were washed. If everything is in order with Laura and Laguna, then Gulia will be washed again - the top of her head is in a terrible state, as if glued with honey, I don’t know what to do. Her head is like a stone.
It was not possible to fix Katie's bangs. Will have to redo it again.
As it turned out, Laura, Gulia and Kathy have the tightest joints. Spectra's elbows and right thigh seem to be loose. Twyla also has a "limping" right thigh. Cherise's knee seems to make some strange sound._. C.A.'s ring falls, stuck it on a transparent nail polish, which, if anything, can be easily torn off.
The whole day went like this, almost five hours. Didn't expect it, of course. Good dose☺
