Last year, the festival entered the Guinness Book of Records twice - we are going for a new record! The festival will be held in Moscow from 23 to 27 September 2017.
Venues of the festival “Circle of Light” 2017:
1. Ostankino tower
The opening ceremony of the Circle of Light festival will be held in Ostankino. An incredible show is being prepared using lasers, light, choreography of fountains and video projections, the height of which will reach 330 meters. With the help of all this, the audience will make a journey through the most beautiful places on our planet: from the Lavender fields to the Sahara desert. And they will also see how the Ostankino Tower will transform into the Eiffel Tower and other world skyscrapers. The performance will be clearly visible from all sides. The show will be shown on September 23 and 24 at 20.00, duration - 40 minutes. At the end, a 7-minute pyrotechnic show awaits you.
2. Theater Square
We will see boring classics on the facades of the Bolshoi and Maly theatres, united into one stage space. In cascades of light and visual effects on the walls of historical buildings, the works of Russian classics will come to life: fragments from Chekhov, Ostrovsky and Gogol. Performances will run every day at 19.30. Here you can also see the works of the finalists of the Artvision competition: architectural video mapping, 3D projections and new art trends.
3. Tsaritsyno
During the days of the festival, it is worth getting to Tsaritsyno. The facade will come to life with the help of light and music and will tell the audience about their feelings. A show of dancing fountains to the accompaniment of musical works by Russian composers will be arranged on the Tsaritsynsky Pond. Incredible light sculptures created by designers from all over the world will be installed in the park. On September 24, the Soprano project will perform. Every day starts at 19.30.
4. Patriarch's Ponds
We will see an elegant synthesis of video and music at the Patriarch's Ponds. All days of the festival from 20.30 to 21.30 VJs play here. In real time, they will create unusual visual images for a live performance of a pianist. And on September 25, a piano concert by Dmitry Malikov will take place.
5. Bronnaya Strogino
The largest show will be shown on the Stroginskaya floodplain on the closing day of the festival. Hundreds of pyrotechnic charges will be launched from barges on the water. Japanese fireworks are distinguished by their brightness and variety of colors - this is a must see. Only on September 27, beginning at 21.30.
6. Concert Hall “Mir”
Competitions of light and music teams will be held in the Mir concert hall. Each participant will present a 10-minute set. New works will be created in real time at the intersection of video, light and music. The event will be held on September 24 at 20.00, entrance by registration (opens in September).
7. Digital October
Professionals in the field of visual art and lighting artists will gather at a profile event at Digital October. The program includes lectures and practical exercises. The meetings will be held on 23 and 24 September. Entrance by registration, which will open on September 9th.

The Circle of Light festival is held annually. For five days, Moscow will again turn into a city of light - lighting designers and experts in the field of audiovisual art from all over the world will transform the architectural appearance of the capital. Colorful large-scale video projections will unfold on its most famous buildings, the streets will be lit up with fabulous installations, and fantastic multimedia shows using light, fire, lasers and fireworks will give unforgettable impressions and vivid emotions.
Entrance to the opening ceremony of the Circle of Light, as well as to other performances of the festival, is free. However, the opening ceremony can also be viewed up close - from specially organized stands. To do this, you need to get invitation cards. Invitation tickets to the opening ceremony of the festival can, in particular, be won by participating in the competition held on the official page of the festival VKontakte.

CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE FESTIVAL - PYROTECHNICAL SHOW
Spectators will enjoy a bright 30-minute Japanese pyrotechnic show, which has no analogues in Russia. Hundreds of pyrotechnic charges will be launched from four barges installed in the waters of the Stroginsky backwater, the largest of which, 600 mm caliber, has never been presented in Russia before. Japanese fireworks are unique in their properties and have no analogues in the world. They surpass other fireworks in their color and brightness, and the hand-made process, passed down from time immemorial, makes each projectile a true work of art.
Digital October
From year to year, the site remains the same meeting place for well-known professionals in the field of visual art and emerging lighting artists. An educational program consisting of lectures, seminars and practical classes helps beginners learn the basics and reveals many secrets and subtleties in working with light.

Thanks to modern technologies, festival visitors will be able to travel around the world and see their natural beauties: Niagara Falls, Yellowstone Park and Bamboo Flute Caves, the sands of the Sahara, the Great Barrier Reef, Lake Baikal, Mount Fuji, French lavender fields and other places.
And on the Ostankino Tower itself, a light show will be shown on the theme of the highest buildings in the world: in turn, it will turn into the Eiffel Tower, the New York skyscraper Empire State Building and the Dubai Burj Khalifa, as well as the TV towers of Toronto, Shanghai, Tokyo and Sydney. The height of video projections will reach 330 meters!

Taking into account the use of two facades at once, a unique light show was developed in which their interaction will become part of one story: the play "Heavenly Mechanics" will tell the audience about love and loneliness, about the impossibility of existing alone, but at the same time - the impossibility of fully accepting one person by another . The finale of the Circle of Light festival will be a grandiose fireworks display - the first show of Japanese pyrotechnics in Russia, which will be held in the Stroginskaya floodplain on September 27. To do this, barges will be installed on the water, on which pyrotechnic installations will be placed. The charges of Japanese fireworks are much larger than usual, each shot is made by hand, and the pattern is individual. They will open at a height of 500 meters, and the diameter of the light domes will be about 240 meters.
