Photo and description

Theater of Drama and Comedy. Aronetskaya in Tiraspol is the only theater in all of Pridnestrovie that has the status of a professional one. Since its opening, the theater has repeatedly faced many problems. But despite this, from an ordinary theater-studio, he gradually grew into the Pridnestrovian State Theater of Drama and Comedy. The theater bears the name of Nadezhda Stepanovna Aronetskaya, who made a huge contribution to the development of the theater, bringing it worldwide success.

In 1934, the local authorities decided to build a special theater building in the city of Tiraspol. The author of this project was the architect G. M. Gotgelf, professor at the Civil Engineering Institute in Odessa. The project was a compact, symmetrical neoclassical complex.

Until that time, three theater troupes had already been fully formed: Moldovan, Ukrainian and Russian, which historically were destined to work in a new building until 1940, and after the founding of the MolSSR, two of them moved to the new capital - the city of Chisinau.

The theater building was badly damaged during the Great Patriotic War. Restoration work was completed only in 1963. For 5 years, the theater was used as a stage for all city events, as well as for performances by visiting groups.

Since 1969, after the issue of the order of the Ministry of Culture of the MSSR "On the organization of the Russian Drama Theater in Tiraspol", a new page began in the history of theatrical art of this region. The official opening of the Drama Theater took place in March 1969 with the performance of A. Arbuzov's "The City at Dawn" staged by N.S. Aronetskaya, which determined all the laws and traditions of the theater.

More than 30 performances staged by the Drama and Comedy Theater. Aronetskaya, were awarded high awards at various international, all-Union and republican theater competitions. Only in 1975, thanks to the play "Vasily Terkin", the theater added 7 silver medals named after A. Popov to its treasury.

Today, the theater employs more than 30 actors. Together with the People's Artist of the Republic of Moldova and the PMR I. Taran, the People's Artists of the PMR A. Ravel and E. Tolstoy, the Honored Artists of the PMR I. Serikova, V. Klimenko, N. Volodina and T. Dikusar, a young generation of actors, who already managed to achieve success in theatrical art.

The Pridnestrovian State Theater of Drama and Comedy is one of the first Moldovan theaters. Its discovery took place in the 1930s. Initially, it was simply called the Studio Theatre, then the City Drama Theater and the Republican Drama Theatre. In 1992, it became the Pridnestrovian State Theater of Drama and Comedy, and in early 2001 it was named after Nadezhda Stepanovna Aronetskaya, an artist of the Moldavian SSR.

In 1990-2005, a major reconstruction of the theater building was carried out. Despite the difficulties associated with this period, the institution continued to actively release performances. In 2005, a large hall was opened here and in honor of this they staged the play Crazy Day, or The Marriage of Figaro.

Currently, the theater building impresses tourists and locals with its beauty and grandeur. At the entrance there are massive rectangular columns, behind which there is a huge semicircular balcony. The top of the facade is decorated with natural marble. Despite some baroque features, the whole building is made in the neoclassical style, so it has a strict and harmonious appearance.

It was named after the honored worker of arts of the Moldavian SSR, the founder of the theater, Nadezhda Stepanovna Aronetskaya.
