    Picture frame: where to start?

    The main condition for creating a masterpiece is inspiration. It’s better not to copy someone else’s work, but to try to feel the mood of your own home, imagine what is missing in the interior, what could highlight its advantages. It is better to write down any thoughts and sketches in a separate notebook - they may come in handy when creating a painting. Think about where the future work will hang - in the living room, kitchen, bedroom.

    Having decided on the style, you can begin to select materials for the future work:

    • Paint and canvas.
    • Cardboard, designer paper, magazine clippings, old photos.
    • Textiles, leather, ribbons, braid.
    • Glass or crystals.
    • Buttons.
    • Dried flowers, shells.
    • Advice! Don't throw away old children's drawings, scraps of fabric, magazines, jewelry - all this can become part of the picture. Store them in a separate box, periodically reviewing and arranging them together.

      DIY paintings: painting with paints

      The easiest way to create an original painting for your interior with your own hands is to paint it. The subject is limited only by the imagination of the creator. Even if you have no artistic skills, you can create a masterpiece: use abstract techniques, study master classes and photos of finished works.

      To create an original painting, minimal painting skills are required.

      Abstraction is always in trend

      The spectacular combination of colors in the painting will attract the attention of household members and guests.

      A simple but very attractive picture

      Simple abstraction is suitable for a fusion style interior

      Oil, watercolor, and acrylic paints will become faithful assistants in creating paintings for the interior. As a base, you can use either professional canvas or regular thick paper or a primed board. You can draw inspiration from nature if there are picturesque places near your home. If you are unlucky with either the location or the weather, feel free to draw your household, pets, fruit compositions - whatever. The accuracy of the reproduction of reality does not play any role, the main thing is to approach the process with soul.

      You can order a frame for your work at a framing workshop, where it is easy to find a suitable edging option.

      Stencils

      Using paint in a spray can, it is easy to apply an image through a stencil. It is better to take plywood or very thick cardboard as the basis for the picture. The background paint should be different in color and effect from the color of the drawing. For example, colored patterns on a gold or silver field look original. You can make several pictures of the same size and arrange them into a single piece, similar to modular paintings, which will decorate the wall in the living room.

      Advice! Instead of paper stencils, use dried leaves and herbs in interesting shapes.

      Modular paintings in the interior

      Modular paintings look very original and give the interior a mysterious depth. They represent an image divided into several canvases, often asymmetrical. You don't have to be an artist to create such a masterpiece.

      To make a modular painting with your own hands, you need to find a suitable image - it can be a beautiful old photo, landscape, still life, abstraction, and print it in a photo workshop on paper or fabric.

      All that remains is to cut it into segments and fix them on a suitable base. The paper can simply be carefully glued onto a base made of plywood or fiberboard, and the canvas can be stretched onto a wooden frame and secured on the reverse side with a stapler.

      Advice! When painting an interior painting yourself, the image is applied on top of already prepared modular segments. The canvas can be replaced with any suitable fabric, painted with batik paints. It is better to paint on paper blanks with acrylic or waterproof markers.

      Modular paintings are suitable for almost any room: from the kitchen to the living room, but it is important to select the appropriate images. If you don’t have the time to create a masterpiece with your own hands, then we have good news for you - today you can buy modular paintings in any specialized store or on the Internet.

      Photo printing

      The technical side of the issue is taken care of by a photo workshop, which can print a suitable image on almost any basis: canvas, paper, ceramics, etc. These can be ordinary posters depicting interesting places, people, ornaments.

      Advice! A poster is not just a picture, it must convey a certain idea, correspond to the interior, the theme of the room and the character of the owners of the house.

      For the loft style, paintings using photo printing are popular

      Black and white photos in white frames as an alternative to paintings

      A small bedroom in gray tones will be decorated with a black and white painting in a black frame

      If the poster is large-format, you can divide the image into several segments and, when combined into a single canvas, play with the joints, making it look like a modular picture.

      If there is a child in the house, then you can scan his drawings and, choosing the ones that match the color and shape, make a collage out of them. Such a poster can be complemented by a photo of the artist himself. All that remains is to print the poster and place it in a frame that matches the color and style of the nursery’s interior.

      A collage of old and new family photos can be hung as a picture in the bedroom or living room, and posters depicting the corresponding paraphernalia and fruits are suitable for the kitchen. Finally, it is worth noting that it is recommended to choose posters and panels for the kitchen in rich and bright colors, however, no one forbids you to go against the rules and create a stylish monochrome kitchen design.

      Paintings using photo printing are very popular in Art Nouveau interiors.

      Small black and white photographic paintings are also suitable for a cozy, bright bedroom.

      Textile paintings for interior

      From all kinds of scraps, fabric with beautiful patterns, ribbons, braid or lace, you can create real masterpieces in the patchwork style with your own hands. Fabric paintings are most often made using the appliqué technique. The basis is taken of dense textiles with discreet and inconspicuous patterns (stripes, polka dots, etc.), and the main elements are cut out from bright shreds.

      You can create real masterpieces from fabrics of different colors

      Original wall decoration with fabric paintings

      Most often, kitchens and children's rooms are decorated with textile works, since these rooms are characterized by a certain simplicity present in the appliqué. From felt, flannel and other fabrics that hold their shape well, you can cut out fruits, animals, cars, and houses. You can safely combine different textures and patterns on fabrics, use braid, decorative cord, and buttons for decoration. For the living room, you can make a textile picture from crinkled silk with abstract patterns.

      Pictures for the kitchen made of buttons

      Using buttons with your own hands, you can create original paintings by sewing or appliqué. Often this type of fittings is used to depict leaves on trees. Buttons can be glued in an original way inside any outline, for example, the silhouette of a butterfly or cat. In sewing stores you can select parts of various shapes, colors and materials and lay them out, like a mosaic, according to a pre-prepared pattern. Such button creations will fit perfectly into the kitchen, however, they can also be used for the living room and bedroom.

      Advice! Buttons can be glued around the perimeter of the picture frame, giving it individuality.

      DIY wallpaper and panels

      Often, after renovation, large pieces of beautiful wallpaper remain, which are useful for making unusual interior paintings.

    • Wallpaper in a frame is the easiest option for creating such a panel with your own hands. A piece of the desired shape is cut from the roll and placed in a frame. Moreover, the ornament may coincide with the pattern on the walls or differ from it. Such elements can come in a row of 2-3 pieces.
    • Golden paint and a stencil or small black and white photos, stylized in an antique style, will help to revive a boring canvas in a frame. Such wallpaper pictures will fit perfectly into the living room interior.
    • For a nursery, kitchen or hallway, decorating framed wallpaper with appliqués or funny themed stickers is suitable.
    • Wallpaper can become the basis of a modular picture; products with patterns look especially good against the background of plain walls. The pattern and color of wallpaper in each segment may differ from neighboring ones, as well as the size of the modules.

    • DIY interior paintings: embroidery and crystals

      Many people are fond of embroidering pictures, and in handicraft stores you can find a variety of patterns and kits for creating masterpieces. You can embroider the canvas with beads with your own hands or try your hand at laying out mosaic paintings. The latter are made using diamond technology, that is, by laying out rhinestones. This process is quite labor-intensive and requires perseverance and accuracy, but the result exceeds all expectations. You can use either a full lay-out technique or a partial one, where crystals cover individual areas of the canvas.

      Leather paintings, quilling paintings and collages

      You can create amazing collages from photographs, clippings, book pages and sheet music. Depending on the theme of the images, the paintings can decorate the living room, bedroom or any other room.

      Bright unusual painting created with your own hands

      You can also make three-dimensional paintings from leather or cardboard, use decoupage and quilling techniques, paintings, paintings from coffee and even crafts from pasta.

      To create such a picture you will need a lot of patience and time.

      Unusual paintings made from wooden blocks

      Fusion style interior with a variety of small handmade paintings

      From thick colored paper, textiles and foam rubber you can create creative multi-layered images with curved space. Finally, it is worth noting that when choosing a frame for a masterpiece created by yourself, you can choose the simplest frames. They can also be decorated at your discretion using various decorative materials.

Every interior should have its own flair, and often the simplest and most elegant option to bring uniqueness to a room is a painting.

But how to find something that will decorate your bedroom, living room or other room? Most likely, you will have to pay a large sum of money for an original work.

But if you don’t expect to spend extra money, but still want to have something original, then it’s quite possible to make an interesting painting with your own hands.

At the same time, it is not at all necessary to be able to draw well. After all, paintings in the usual sense have long replaced three-dimensional images on the walls, abstract ideas embodied in a variety of techniques.

DIY fabric paintings

All high-quality canvases are made on a fabric basis. However, the modern interpretation of such paintings changes our view of art.

Modular fabric paintings have become very popular. But making them yourself is not so difficult. In stores now you can find a lot of fabrics with very beautiful, interesting and bright prints.

If you like one of them, then you can safely buy it and make an original piece of decor.

Modular picture

To create a room decoration such as a modular picture made of fabric, you will need a base in addition to the selected material. It could even be a door from an old cabinet or a piece of chipboard that could easily be lying around somewhere in the garage after renovation.

Cut out several pieces from the base to the size of your fabric and cover the tree with it. Make sure that the fabric is well stretched and does not form wrinkles. Your painting is almost ready. All that remains is to attach the hooks with which it will be attached to the wall.

Most often, such paintings consist of three or more modules, which may be the same size or different. Their shape can also be different.

The most common and easiest to manufacture are square and rectangular elements. But there are round, oval and other forms of modules for paintings. Frames for picture modules are not needed in this case.

Paintings from clothes

Even a T-shirt can decorate your interior. It often happens that stains or holes appear on clothes that you have not worn for very long, and their colors are still bright. You don’t have to throw away a seemingly damaged item, but make an original painting out of it.

Cut out a rectangle with an image from your clothing, glue it onto paper and place it in a frame. The photo shows that such paintings depicting cartoon characters will fit perfectly into the interior of a children's room.

Embroidery

In some ways, embroidery can also be classified as fabric paintings. This method of interior decoration is not new. Even our great-grandmothers had at least one hand-embroidered image in their house.

However, to embroider a picture, you still need some skills and patience. This method is not suitable for everyone, but if you do needlework, then hand-embroidered pictures can say a lot about you as a housewife.

Three-dimensional paintings

Relief images on the wall are also very popular as decorative elements in the interior. Three-dimensional paintings can be made with plaster on the wall even before its finishing.

But such decoration can only take place if there are no plans to stick wallpaper on the wall.

Note!

The method of making such paintings requires training and a considerable amount of time. Therefore, it will not suit everyone.

Paper paintings

There is an easier way to make a three-dimensional image. For this you will need colored paper or cardboard. Cut out several figures of the same or different sizes from it. These could be, for example, butterflies.

Using pins or double-sided tape, attach them to the wall in a chaotic manner or forming some kind of pattern. Your paper painting will look more impressive if you choose a color that contrasts with the tone of the wall itself.

The butterflies themselves can also be of different colors. Such a picture will sparkle with new colors when artificial lighting is turned on, so it will look most advantageous in rooms where the light is turned on most often, for example, in the corridor.

If your house has a staircase to the second floor, then kittens in different poses placed on the wall to which the steps adjoin will look original.

Paintings from bushings

Rolls of toilet paper or paper towels will help you create voluminous decor with images of flowers and leaves. It is enough to flatten the cylinder a little and cut it into equal parts approximately 2-3 cm wide.

Note!

To make the flowers brighter and the leaves stand out in color even before work begins, the bushings can be painted in different colors. The individual parts of the sleeve should be placed so that a flower is formed, so it is possible to create entire compositions.

Artificial flower paintings

The easiest to make are paintings made from artificial flowers or other decorative elements. The main thing here is to beautifully glue the finished parts onto the base.

For this technique you will need a frame, a plain material and the image itself. Cover a sheet of paper with fabric, wrapping its edges and gluing it on the back side.

Then, having first removed the glass from the frame, insert the base of your picture into it and glue artificial flowers or other details (shells, dry twigs, etc.) to it. Finally, you can decorate the frame with beads.

If you already have a finished canvas, then there are many master classes on how to decorate a painting that is already boring to you and thereby update the interior.

Note!

A flat image of nature or still life can look completely different if several three-dimensional details are attached to it.

This can be either an image cut out of paper or natural materials in the form of dry leaves or even butterflies.

Photos of paintings with your own hands

Feather painting

Feel like real modern artists by creating an amazing canvas. It will be light and airy, as it is created from feathers.

Here's what you'll need to make these interior paintings:

  • feathers;
  • spray paint;
  • frame;
  • large bead;
  • glue;
  • sheet of cardboard.
Cut a piece of cardboard to fit the frame so it will fit there. If the base is not the color you would like it to be, then cover it with, for example, a white sheet of paper. Now attach the feathers to this base to understand how they will look in the final form.

Then on another surface you need to paint the feathers using spray paint.

As you can see, shades of the same color look great. Therefore, you can take dark and light blue paint. Glue the feathers first on the outside of the circle, and then make rows closer and closer to the center.

When this entire surface is filled, glue a large bead in the middle.

After the glue has dried, you can frame the finished work and hang it in the bedroom or living room, or present it to a loved one as a souvenir.

This picture looks great in the interior, like the following ones.

Paper painting

Floating butterflies will certainly lift your spirits.

To create such beauty, you don't need a lot of materials. You will only need:
  • colored paper in pink and white shades;
  • sheet of polystyrene foam or expanded polystyrene;
  • glue;
  • whatman;
  • scissors.
If you're good at drawing, you can create a small butterfly freehand. If you doubt that it will turn out the way you want, then you can use a template.

  1. Cut strips of pink colored paper to the desired width. The distance between the sides should be what you want the wingspan of this insect to be.
  2. Attach the butterfly to the beginning of the paper strip, fold the tape several times so that the insect has enough space in the square allocated to it. Outline the butterfly and cut out along the contours. You will get not one, but several insects at once.
  3. In the same way, folding the paper sheets into a stack of squares, cut out the remaining butterflies. Use dark pink, pink and light pink paper for this.
  4. Using double-sided tape, you need to cover a sheet of foam or polystyrene foam with whatman paper. Draw the outline of the future figure on it using a washable marker or chalk. Start gluing butterflies, filling this shape with them. When the work is completed, you can use it for its intended purpose.

Just like in the presented photo, make the left outline of the picture fuzzy, as if it were hovering butterflies that were gradually landing here.

Such works look especially beautiful in sunlight. You can not glue the foam, but tint it using a sponge and paint. Then glue the butterflies using double-sided tape.

You can create interior paintings by making cardboard frames with your own hands. And so that butterflies are visible on the canvas, draw their outlines on a sheet of cardboard and cut them out using a stationery knife. But the lower part of the base should be a more contrasting color so that the butterflies are clearly visible.

You can leave them snow-white or paint them.

Try this fun craft with your kids. After all, they can also create original paintings with you. Each butterfly can be painted and glued to the canvas.

To make a wall panel, use heart-shaped figures. For the next work you don’t even need a frame, you only need:
  • double-sided cardboard;
  • scissors;
  • fishing line;
  • bar;
  • dye;
  • awl.
Cut out the hearts using the butterfly method above. Make a hole at the top of each with an awl. Insert fishing line here. To make this easier, use a needle to thread the fishing line here.

You should have several rows of hearts. Paint the block and tie the top parts of the fishing lines to it.

Now you can hang such a beautiful panel above the bed in the bedroom or on the wall in another room.

The creative impulse should not be restrained by the lack of some material, for example, paper. If you don't have one, use newspapers you read. Cut out hearts from them and glue them to a paper base, make a frame for your work.

If you still have ceiling tiles, this material will make wonderful interior paintings.

For these you will need leftover colored paper. By using the template presented above or creating your own, you will make such a cheerful panel.

Pictures made from buttons and corks

The following design solutions will be suggested by waste material. After all, wine corks are usually thrown away, but you can make a lot of interesting things out of them. This is the kind of work created based on this material.

For the first picture, you need to cut each cork in half, and if you have a lot of such material, then use whole elements. First draw the outline of the future masterpiece onto the base, and then fill it with blanks. If you want the picture to take on a rainbow tone, then pre-paint them.

To get such beautiful interior paintings, you can only use:

  • bottle caps;
  • rope;
  • awl.
Make a through hole in each cork with an awl. Now, string them on a rope, connect them.

The next picture doesn't need a frame. You simply glue the corks in rows onto the main surface and you can attach a card here to congratulate your loved one.

If you have a lot of unnecessary buttons accumulated in your household, then you can also make interior paintings from them.

For the next one we will use:
  • buttons in green and brown shades;
  • glue;
  • wooden plank;
  • pencil.
Using a pencil, sketch your future masterpiece on a wooden surface. Using a hot glue gun or clear Titan glue, attach the green buttons to where the crown is and the brown ones to become the trunk and roots of the tree.

The following will also decorate the interior.

You can put the first letter of your loved one’s name with buttons, glue them to the base and give the masterpiece to him. The motive can be very different. Make the outline of an animal or an anchor out of buttons; such works will also certainly be appreciated.

You can confess your love in the most unexpected way. Paint the wooden surface, when dry, glue pink heart-shaped buttons here. Seeing such a sign of attention, the person dear to you will certainly be happy.

Paintings in the interior can be very different. If you want to capture the dark time of day, then pre-paint the background with brown paint. It is not necessary to make it even. Spread the paint with a sponge, then it will turn out like this mysterious.

A black marker will help highlight the contours of the branches and trunk, and a rainbow crown can be made from buttons of a wide variety of colors.

If you prefer light colors, when you take a white base, draw the trunk here with a marker or brown pencil. You can give free rein to your creative imagination and lay out this part of the tree using threads of this color. Glue buttons that will turn into colorful leaves.

Nature itself will help you paint interior pictures. Check out the following interesting ways to create them.

Method of printing interior paintings

Just dip a daisy or other flower in paint and it will turn into a wonderful printing tool. You will lean the plant against a white sheet of paper and create original designs.

Lemon can be used for more than just its intended purpose. Dip half of this fruit into paint and print on paper.

This kind of art therapy will certainly lift your spirits. You can use a wide variety of fruits and vegetables to create interior paintings. If you have an ear of corn, then cut a fragment of the required length from it, prick it on both sides with forks or other sharp objects and print to your health.

If you don’t have fruits and vegetables or don’t want to use them to create pictures, then you can take a balloon.

Pour paint into a bowl. And if you want the prints to be more interesting, then add paint in other shades. Dip the ball into this mass, then lift it and print the patterns that you come up with on a sheet of paper.

If you want to draw your favorite teddy bear, but you can’t do it, then you can make a print. To avoid damaging the toy, use water-washable paint. Dip the bear here and place it on a piece of contrasting paper.

If there are no such consumables, then you can even use your own palm. Dip it into a bowl of paint and press it against the paper base.

If you want to make a picture as a keepsake, then invite all family members to do similar manipulations. In this case, the largest palm should be printed first, and then the next ones are arranged in decreasing order. Use different colors of paint so that each print is clearly visible.

It remains to look at a few more ways that will allow you to create interior paintings. To make such masterpieces, you will need very little time.

Interior paintings on the wall in 15 minutes - master class

That's how long it will take to create your next masterpiece.

Also for the interior painting you will need:
  • planks;
  • dye;
  • brush;
  • glue;
  • Pictures.
Paint the boards and wait for this layer to dry. It is better to paint the surface a second time. When this layer dries, all that remains is to glue the cut-out photographs of animals, and you will get an interesting mini-exhibition.

You will create the next painting just as quickly. Such works will appeal to lovers of glamor.

A step-by-step master class and detailed photographs will help you quickly understand an interesting idea. First you need to prepare:
  • a simple pencil;
  • scotch;
  • glue;
  • sparkles.
Then draw on a piece of cardboard or prepared canvas how you see your work. Such zigzag lines look interesting. To make them even, you must first draw parallel lines, then divide each into two or three segments. The set points will help achieve evenness. They are needed to stick tape onto the zigzag strips. Which is what you will do. Now grease the gap between them with glue and add glitter here.

If you don't have glitter, then you can shred the broken Christmas ball. To do this, cover it with a cloth and gently knock on top with a hammer.

Remove the tape after the glue has dried. Where there was adhesive tape, you need to paint it using a brush. After some time, the work can be glued to the wall using double-sided tape.

If you liked these interior paintings, then create the next one using almost the same principle.

To do this you will need to take:
  • picture;
  • self-adhesive letters;
  • white acrylic paint.
Paste the letters over the picture, creating the desired word or phrase from them. Paint the surface with white acrylic paint. Wait for it to dry and then peel off the letters. You will have a colorful inscription and an original picture.

If you have even less time, then you can make a panel in the same minimalist traditions as Malevich’s black square.

To do this, cover a white sheet of cardboard with black paint using a rough brush. All you have to do is hang your masterpiece on the wall and wait for approving responses from home and visiting guests.

Even leftover fabric will give you interesting ideas.

Wrap rectangles and squares pre-cut from cardboard with such flaps. Fold the fabric over from the other side and secure it here. Make a loop and hang your masterpiece using it or double-sided tape. You can create interior paintings so that you have a whole exhibition or make one or two. It all depends on the amount of free time and availability of material.

If you have small scraps left, then you can make a voluminous flower like this.

Using the template, cut out the petals for it. Slightly bending the edge of each, glue it to the prepared surface. This can be a sheet of polystyrene foam or cardboard with non-woven material, wrapped in fabric. First create the outer circle of petals, then the next one, arranging them in a checkerboard pattern. As you move toward the center, complete your work. In the middle the petals are slightly smaller and point upward.

If there is some braid left over from needlework, you can also use it. See what kind of interior paintings you can create with it.

To do this, you need to cut these tapes into strips of the same size and glue the end and beginning of each. Then you need to pull the resulting circles from 4 sides to the center, and you will get four-petal flowers. You can also quickly make a panel from cupcake and cookie packaging. Glue these paper molds to the prepared surface, see what a delicate and airy picture you get.

By applying a template of leaves to paper, you can cut out such blanks of the same size quite quickly.

All that remains is to glue them next to the paper branches and frame the finished work.

Here are some interesting works of art that can be created in a matter of minutes from available materials. If you want to see how others make interior paintings, then your wish will be granted right now.

Do not deny yourself the pleasure and see how you can make a picture whose surface will resemble marble:

Are you looking for a fresh and unusual idea for interior decoration? Familiar pictures are good, but the soul is looking for something new. On the Internet you can find more than one master class on creating three-dimensional paintings with your own hands from paper, fabric or leather. These are 3D canvases that are amazing in their liveliness, which are fun to create and pleasant to contemplate.

DIY paintings

A three-dimensional painting can be called a 3D sculpture in a frame, made from scrap materials. It can be anything in the full sense of the word: paper, dried flowers, polymer clay, leather, fabrics and other creative materials. For example, they make magnificent three-dimensional drawings from plaster directly on the kitchen wall. Plaster modeling is, of course, beautiful, but this article will talk about simpler techniques.

Anyone can make an original masterpiece of art with their own hands. Why don't you try your hand at it? The master class will help you learn the basic principles to get started with an idea and start creating.

Master class “3d paper painting”

For the first test of the pen, take the simplest version of a three-dimensional painting - a paper appliqué.

Set of materials for work:

  • frame with deep sides;
  • stationery knife;
  • pencil;
  • colored cardboard with a bright print;
  • white watercolor paper or thin cardboard;
  • ruler, scissors;
  • PVA glue.

Instead of a frame, you can take a candy box.

Step-by-step description of a three-dimensional paper painting:

  • cut out a rectangle from a white sheet of paper to fit the selected frame;
  • draw by hand or print a heart of such a size that it fits freely in the frame 9 times in three rows. The approximate size of the heart is 4x5 cm;
  • the heart needs to be cut out and circled with a simple pencil, placing it on white paper prepared earlier. You should get 3 rows of three hearts or more (less) as you wish;
  • Now the important step has come - carefully, using a stationery knife, we cut out the “wings” of the hearts. To do this, you need to make cuts along the contour of the hearts, without touching the lower and upper parts;
  • bend the cut parts of the hearts up and towards the center, making them voluminous;
  • The blank with hearts must be glued onto colored cardboard. It is desirable that it be special scrap paper with a small pattern. It will be visible through the bent wings of the hearts;
  • The final step is to place the picture in a frame and fix it on the back side with a stapler or glue.

The presented master class is simple, but based on it you can make your own 3D plot - fluttering butterflies, tiles, people and other interesting templates.

Master class “multilayer 3d paper painting”

Making an interesting paper painting using the multi-layer technique is very simple - you just need to find a design and print many copies. The finished product, hung on the wall, looks interesting from different angles - a real 3D painting.

Set of materials for work:

  • sufficiently deep frame;
  • cardboard;
  • laminate backing;
  • thick album sheets and printer;
  • craft glue;
  • acrylic paint;
  • acrylic lacquer;
  • scissors;

Step-by-step description of a multilayer paper painting:

  • choose a beautiful and bright picture with a clear image. It is desirable that there are many parts on it that will be convenient to cut out. We format or select the picture to fit the frame size. We print 10-12 copies on thick paper;
  • Depending on what kind of printer you have, we determine whether the pictures need varnishing. Thus, images printed on an inkjet printer must be sprayed and varnished, otherwise the colors will run. Laser images can be left as is;
  • We simply glue the first image onto cardboard cut to the size of the frame plus gaps for mounting;
  • We cut out all other images, but in a special way. For example, if you are creating a flower, then let several whole flowers be cut out with a stem and leaves, a couple more layers of leaves, and even more of the inflorescence itself. It sounds complicated, but as you go along it will become clear;
  • Now we are preparing the basis for the parts from a thin backing for the laminate, which looks like a thin layer of polyethylene foam. The cut-out backing should be slightly smaller than the parts so that it is not visible in the finished product on the wall;
  • we glue the parts onto the substrate, but not all of them, but selectively - only those layers that should protrude forward. In some small parts, a substrate may not be needed;
  • We place the prepared parts on the base in a frame with glue. First, we place large pictures with many details, and then individual details that should be more voluminous;
  • the side parts should not remain white, otherwise they will reveal the presence of a substrate - they need to be painted over to match the image;
  • We cover the picture with acrylic varnish in several layers. Each layer is applied after the previous one has dried;

Now you will have a three-dimensional painting with your own hands - now you can place it on the wall in this form or add glass. Such canvases can be made from fabric, then you will get a picture with a beautiful terry surface.

Master class “3d painting made of leather”

Set of materials for work:

  • frame;
  • the base of the picture is made of leather, suede or fabric;
  • pieces of leather of any color;
  • acrylic paints;
  • rectangular sheet of chipboard or plywood;
  • furniture stapler;
  • craft glue or superglue;
  • scissors;
  • paper (for sketches);
  • soap or chalk (for contours on the skin).

The first question that arises about creating such a work is where to get the leather? Firstly, it must be natural, and therefore it is not cheap. But you probably have a jacket, bag, gloves and other used genuine leather products. Feel free to chop them up - you will have a lot of fun and can make a gorgeous picture.

Step-by-step description of creating a painting “bouquet of leather”:

  • Make sketches of leaves and petals on paper and cut them out - these will be templates for work;
  • transfer the contours to the skin and cut out how many flowers with petals you want to have in the finished painting;
  • If the materials at hand do not contain colored leather of a suitable shade for the colors, then use acrylic paints. Paint the petals with burgundy or pink colors, and the leaves with green. You can choose paints of any colors you like;
  • to make the petals round and voluminous, you need to hold the skin over a candle flame - it will begin to take on an interesting natural shape;
  • we collect buds from the petals; you can place a ball of leather or fabric in the center as the center of the flower;
  • we stretch a base made of any fabric, suede, leather or other material onto a sheet of plywood and fasten it with staples from the wrong side. The fabric can be pulled tightly or draped. We insert the resulting base into the frame;
  • Arrange the finished flowers and leaves on the base - evaluate their location by stepping aside;
  • complement the composition with leather curls, natural materials - shells, dried flowers, etc.;
  • Now you can glue all the elements to the intended places using a glue gun or a tube of superglue.

We clean the finished picture from traces of handicraft and hang it on the wall - that’s the whole master class. Similar creations can be made from fabric - decorating the drawn silhouettes of girls with dresses made of fabric and lace.

To repeat the master class and create three-dimensional paintings with your own hands, you do not need to have the ability to draw. But what you really need is perseverance and accuracy.

For beginners, we can recommend techniques made from paper, and for more experienced craftsmen, magnificent 3D paintings made from leather, polymer clay or plaster. Interesting paintings for the kitchen are framed vegetables and fruits sculpted from clay or made from plaster.

Having decided on the style, you can begin to select materials for the future work:

  1. Paint and canvas.
  2. Cardboard, designer paper, magazine clippings, old photos.
  3. Textiles, leather, ribbons, braid.
  4. Glass or crystals.
  5. Buttons.

Painting with paints

The easiest way to create an original painting for your interior with your own hands is to paint it. The subject is limited only by the imagination of the creator. Even if you have no artistic skills, you can create a masterpiece: use abstract techniques, study master classes and photos of finished works.

Oil, watercolor, and acrylic paints will become faithful assistants in creating paintings for the interior. As a base, you can use either professional canvas or regular thick paper or a primed board.

Advice! You can draw inspiration from nature if there are picturesque places near your home. If you are unlucky with either the location or the weather, feel free to draw your household, pets, fruit compositions - whatever. The accuracy of the reproduction of reality does not play any role, the main thing is to approach the process with soul.

Modular paintings are suitable for almost any room: from kitchens before living room, but it is important to select appropriate images. If you don’t have the time to create a masterpiece with your own hands, then we have good news for you - today you can buy them in any specialized store!

Recently, pin-up and retro style posters have gained particular popularity.

If the poster is large-format, you can divide the image into several segments and, when combined into a single canvas, play with the joints, making it look like a modular picture.

If there is a child in the house, then you can scan his drawings and select the ones that match the color, shape, etc. Such a poster can be complemented by a photo of the artist himself. All that remains is to print the poster and place it in a frame that matches the color and style.

Collage of old and new family photos You can hang it as a picture in the bedroom or living room, and posters depicting the corresponding paraphernalia and fruits are suitable for the kitchen. Finally, it is worth noting that it is recommended to choose posters and panels for the kitchen in rich and bright colors, however, no one forbids you to go against the rules and create stylish ones.

Textile

From all kinds of scraps, fabric with beautiful patterns, ribbons, braid or lace, you can create real masterpieces in patchwork style with your own hands. Fabric paintings are most often made using the appliqué technique. The basis is taken of dense textiles with discreet and inconspicuous patterns (stripes, polka dots, etc.), and the main elements are cut out from bright shreds.

Most often, kitchens and children's rooms are decorated with textile works, since these rooms are characterized by a certain simplicity present in the appliqué.

Advice!

From buttons

With their help, you can create original things by sewing or appliqué. Often this type of fittings is used to depict leaves on trees. Buttons can be glued in an original way inside any contour, for example, a silhouette butterflies or cats.

Wallpaper and panels

Often, after renovation, large pieces of beautiful wallpaper remain, which are useful for making unusual interior paintings.

  1. Wallpaper in a frame is the easiest option to create something like this panel. A piece of the desired shape is cut from the roll and placed in a frame. Moreover, the ornament may coincide with the pattern on the walls or differ from it. Such elements can come in a row of 2-3 pieces.
  2. Golden paint and a stencil or small black and white photos, stylized in an antique style, will help to revive a boring canvas in a frame. Similar wallpaper pictures will fit perfectly into
