According to Vedic texts, mantras were transmitted to people by ancient rishis (sages) as divine revelation from higher levels of existence. At first, a rosary - a thread of 108 strung beads - will help discipline the process. At the point where they join, there is usually a large “meru” bead. Start reciting the mantra from it, moving one bead at a time with your thumb and middle finger towards the “meru”. When you reach the end of the thread, turn it over and work in the opposite direction.
In the future, you will no longer need the rosary, but at first it is useful for creating the right mood. The same purpose is served by preparing a meditative atmosphere: scented candles, music for meditation.

Each mantra has a patron deity. The word and the concept it denotes are one and the same (the word seems to contain the very essence of the phenomenon it denotes), therefore the mantra and the patronizing Devata (god or goddess) are one. The mantra itself is this Devata.

Mantras differ from prayers in that, when pronouncing them, a person tries, as it were, to identify with that god, with that hypostasis of him that is indicated in it. And after identification, a person receives the necessary qualities or changes in life that he wanted to receive by reading them. Mantras tune a person to a certain state, and as a result, his life begins to change.

Mantras are divided into three categories:
1. Male or Sunny.
2. Female or Lunar.
3. Neutral or sometimes called neuter mantras.

It is easy to recognize which category a mantra belongs to by its endings. Men's endings in "um", "phat". For women - on “tham”, “matchmaker”. Neutral ones have the endings “namah”, “pamah” and help very well with a person’s lack of vitality.

In material terms, the mantra leads to increased concentration, relieves stress and tension, improves performance and memory, increases vitality and fills the heart with joy. The vibrations emanating from it affect all systems of the body, making a person more attractive, charming, and smoothing out his imperfections. And on the spiritual level, the mantra leads to enlightenment and unity with cosmic consciousness. Temples, in which they have been repeated for many centuries, become places of power and enlightenment.

From the beginning of the practice of chanting mantras, special vibrations begin to operate in the human body. At first they are unnoticeable, but as practice continues, the vibrations intensify and can bring a person to a state where the body vibrates completely in unison with the Energy of the Universe. It is believed that if you repeat a mantra 108 times daily for 21 days, you will automatically connect to the Universal channels of abundance.

Mantras are chanted in a special way to cause a vibrational effect throughout the human body, in the nervous system, endocrine glands, and in the brain. This singing is done easily and calmly, but with the full energy of deep breathing. Sounds affect various organs:

O-O-O - in the middle part of the chest.
3-3-3 - in the glands, brain.

You can repeat mantras everywhere and always! On buses while commuting to work, while washing dishes or walking the dog. When you start practicing, you yourself will understand how, when and where it is more comfortable for you to practice, you will come to this yourself.

Now I don’t even remember when I first heard mantras. Most likely, when Hare Krishnas in orange robes appeared on the streets of Moscow. And that was a very long time ago. I started listening to mantras many years later. Nobody encouraged me. It happened very naturally. I liked the Peaceful and Harmonious state that arose after this. And soon I began to chant mantras myself.

And still, it surprised me every time! 15 - 20 minutes - and you are a different person!

The mantras are written in Sanskrit, one of the oldest languages ​​(which has common roots with many known languages!).

The sounds of mantras are based on strong vibrational codes, similar to those used when saying a prayer.

God's names can be different! For me God is One! And I respect any religion and form of communication with him!

The difference is that in prayer what is important is not the sequence of words and the purity of the spoken sounds, but the openness of the soul, sincerity and faith in God. That is why initially mantras were transmitted only through the guru and were kept in deep secret. Independent practice can bring results, but not as effective as through dedication. Another fundamental difference between prayer and mantra is that the mantra does not contain a request for the fulfillment of a material desire. This is the selfless repetition of the names of God. But when the mind is constantly focused on repeating divine vibrations, it itself becomes filled with divine qualities.

Many people think of chanting mantras as something esoteric and something they should avoid. But you need to realize that mantra is working with consciousness. With repeated repetition, the energy of the mantra penetrates the human mind and reveals its power, turning into pure energy of consciousness. Mantras are based on vowel combinations and are chanted in a special way to create a vibrational effect throughout the body. Mantras are pronounced out loud, in a whisper or silently - the result will be different in each way. It is better to start practicing chanting mantras out loud in order to more clearly feel the vibrations in the body. Then you can move on to whispering practice - this is more subtle work and a deeper influence. When the practitioner achieves success in this too, you can move on to singing to yourself; here, rather, the body itself will set the tone, and we will only make slight adjustments. This is already a very high level of harmonization, when the mantra sounds inside constantly, and, unfortunately, is practically unattainable by those living in cities, where destructive vibrations emanate from most objects, not to mention people. As for the number of repetitions of the mantra, opinions differ. 3, 9, 27, 54, 108, 1008 and more times... Everyone takes into account what seems most suitable to him. For convenience in repeating mantras, you can use them, which have 108 beads. This especially helps beginners in spiritual practice - the rosary will help them better concentrate on the mantra.
