  • Creating cool, memorable characters is easy if you know certain rules. This post captures some simple but useful points of the creation process.

    Tell a story
Stories are what keep us interested and help us believe in a character. Think about movie plots and games - we're usually intrigued by a character's story and personality traits, and this also applies to illustration. Even the most simple stories make the character more attractive and memorable. You can show the story in the picture by the environment, movement, costume elements or facial features.

    Shapes and lines
Many famous characters are made up of simple shapes and lines. Remember that the viewer subconsciously reads rounded soft shapes as a sign of the character's kindness, and sharp and torn ones as an attribute of a negative hero. Therefore, if your cute character consists of sharp pieces, this may cause problems in understanding.
    Silhouettes
It's safe to say that people can immediately recognize familiar characters just by their silhouettes if they're well-designed and use the right shapes and lines. If you're removing details from your character and testing them for silhouette recognition, that's usually a sign of cool design.

    Proportions and exaggeration
Using distorted proportions or exaggerating the length and size of body parts, even with small details like fingers, can really help create your character's personality. You can make him seem stronger or clumsier, even meaner, by exaggerating his features. appearance. This is also true for their walk and movements if you want to go ahead and bring the character to life in the animation. Plus, when you need to show that the character is small and cute, he deliberately enlarges his head and eyes.

    Expression
The first thing we look at when we see a character is their eyes. IN real life human and animal eyes are full of emotions and are in a good way understand what someone is thinking or feeling. So naturally we look at the eyes in the illustration. Another good advice- to exaggerate the expression so that it is really readable and not make the audience think hard.

    Pose and position
Thinking about how a character stands or how they carry themselves is another way to tell more about their personality and add detail to the story. You can make characters look strong, imposing, scared, confused, angry, etc. by simply changing their posture and position.

    Scale
Knowing the scale and size of a character is important, and it can be difficult to represent their size especially in abstract designs. This is where the introduction of other objects such as trees, houses or tables and plants can help us understand how big or little character which we are looking at.

    Color
Using color can help with a character's mood, make them more serious or playful. Using the right hues for skin tones, fur, clothing, etc. also helps the viewer understand which character they are looking at, and even whether they are friendly or not. Remember that using a more fun and unrealistic color palette will make your character more fun and playful.

    Shadows
Shading can be as complex or as simple as you like. It really depends on how realistic or detailed you want the character to look. You can really play with the style and final visual look of your character when thinking about shadows. This is a way to introduce some tones/shades of existing colors that you have used.

    Texture
You don't always need to use texture on a character illustration, if you want a clean vector art, it's probably best to leave it untextured. However, if you want your illustration to look more organic, lively, and natural, it might be worth adding some texture. There are a lot of successful examples, you just have to look around.

That's all the main points, this list can really help and be useful even if you implement only a part of the points.

    • Sometimes we need to draw animals that look like people and there are some very simple ways that enable this goal to be achieved. Especially often the method of humanization is used in children's books and when creating mascots. There are several degrees of anthropomorphism (humanization).

      1. Animal with human emotions - when animals remain animals, but have human emotions and facial expressions. To enhance the effect, you can use human postures.

      2. The animal performs human actions - the effect works great in opposition to the technique above, when one animal is only with emotions, and the other performs some actions. At this stage, the animals may or may not be wearing clothes, but they usually have paws rather than hands and are usually not shod. Very often, this technique was used by the famous English illustrator Betrix Potter (this is her illustration on the cover of the post).

      3. Almost complete coincidence with humans - at this stage, in addition to the points above, animals wear clothes, shoes, usually walk on two legs and act like people. Sometimes such characters look like people with the head of an animal.

Here is a clear illustration of all degrees of humanization. The first penguin is just an animal, the second one has emotions, the third one is becoming more and more human, but still remains a penguin, and the last one is completely human.

I hope now it will be simple and easy for you to draw human animals)

Honestly, I thought about this question for a long time, because the answer “everywhere” categorically did not suit me. As a result, several understandable areas have gathered, taking into account the features of which it is possible to develop characters specifically for something.

      Cartoon/Animation
The success of cartoons largely depends on the uniqueness and originality of the character, so the image is usually not taken from the ceiling, but carefully worked out. Cartoons can be 2D or 3D - it depends on how to draw a character. The character is accompanied by a set of schemes for its subsequent animation (frontal view, profile, emotion map, and so on). The introductory task is the director's group of the film. Usually in feature films the artist works on the character throughout the shoot.

By the way, after the release of cartoons, many large studios release artbooks with the work process and a lot of stuff with the character.

      Commercials
Usually short and with an emphasis on what is being sold. All actions of the character should be built around the product being sold. Essentially a cartoon in miniature, only less poses, environments and scenes. With the development of motion design, very often they are made from vector characters with a combination of different transitions and frame changes. It is enough to turn on the TV and wait for the advertisement - the characters there are very different.

      Computer games
The starting point is the general theme of the game, its plot, setting (the environment in which the action takes place) and the role assigned to this character. For example, you want to create concept art for a main character for a shooter set during World War II or during crusade. Before starting to draw this character, the artist must carefully study the clothes of that time ( military uniform, if the hero is a soldier), samples of weapons, etc. It is also important to work out every action of the character, how he runs, shoots, dies, and so on. Approximately like this.

      Mascots
Mascot characters representing the company, brand, sports team, team and so on. Mascots are often used as characters representing goods and services to consumers (for example, the clown Ronald McDonald). For street advertising, as a rule, they hire a person and dress him in a mascot costume. Still very bright mascots are usually used for Olympic Games and on sports competitions(in the video below, just one of the symbols of the American basketball team). Even car brands can have their own mascots - for example, a Ferrari horse or a Lamborgini bull. At the same time, the character does not have to be cartoonish, a stylized brutal version can also be a mascot.

      Book graphics/comics
As a rule, here you need to develop a lot different characters and their interaction with each other. Behavior, character and environment are closely related. The brighter the character, the easier it is to build a story around him. Comics in general are a separate large direction, very brightly represented in Eastern countries like Japan and the USA, but with a different style. Here is a great video on how to make characters different.

And here is a rather long, but interesting how to make a character cute.

      figurines
Usually this collection series with the characters of games or cartoons, but it happens that the character is initially created only for a sculpture in a small edition. With the advent of 3D printing, the impossible becomes possible even for amateurs and it is not necessary to make a huge print run at once.
By the way, I have several figurines from the Game of Thrones, excellent characters)

If you know other interesting examples of using characters - share in the comments.

      • I decided to summarize all the useful chips that advise famous illustrators to create high-quality and recognizable characters. The main thing in a character is its recognition and readability. Accordingly, without a clear silhouette, this is difficult to achieve. Therefore, the first step is to fill the character with black and check how it generally looks as a blur. Here are some silhouettes for example - of course you will recognize them immediately.

Denis Zilber works very cool with the silhouette, for example, here is the sequence of drawing his character and you can clearly see how he changed the pose in favor of the readability of the silhouette.

        Many options
You should not immediately draw a character and concentrate on only one image - it is better to draw several different concepts and choose the most successful one. In any case, interesting details can be taken from the rejected options.

        simple shapes
It is easier and more correct to start drawing with simple shapes - ovals, pears and cylinders, and only then build up the necessary volume and details on them. Drawing from forms allows you to simply find the right pose or angle without changing the entire drawing. And despite the fact that very often you want to delve into the details, on initial stage stick, cucumber - this is our everything)

        unusual details
A character can be memorable not only for his figure, but also interesting things complementing the image. For example, if you remember Harry Potter, then these are immediately glasses, an owl and a scar in the form of a lightning bolt. Once I saw a book cover design that had these three things on it and didn't say the title of the book, and I was 100% sure it was Potter.

        Correct Proportions
Usually if the character is smart - they make him a bigger head and big glasses, if he is a jock - he will have broad shoulders, romantic girls have big eyes and long eyelashes. All these things make it easier to read the image of the character without thinking. You need to remember about the ratio of body parts, because. Proportions create character. For example, a large and pugnacious hero will have a small head, a wide rib cage, shoulders and legs, mouth and chin will protrude forward. Cute characters will have the proportions of a baby: a large head, an oval body, a high forehead, and small areas of the chin, mouth, and eyes. Knowing these things, you can already achieve certain effects.
For example, almost all Disney princesses look cute due to big eyes and a small mouth.

        The environment is important too
Understanding exactly where the character will act and work can greatly simplify the work. This is especially important when the character is “fitted” into an already prepared place. In some mysterious forest, goblin and sorcerers would be more appropriate than, for example, a rider on a horse or an African animal.
I love the Bikini Bottom example - it's the perfect style for SpongeBob and his friends, and they are perfect for him.

For what and for whom the character is created
For some company that sells tour packages, it is better to make the character simple, but for games, they usually develop complex and detailed characters. However, if a person is just walking down the street and sees a complex character, most likely he will not look at him.
Here is the character of the Euroset, which is easy to change and make to do anything and which can often be seen passing by the next salon.

But the hero of Warcraft, where people sit for a long time and the atmosphere and every little thing is important.

        And finally
It is always interesting not just to look at the characters you like, but to analyze them and highlight them. character traits. Knowing the basic techniques, you can very quickly learn how to create interesting characters corresponding to the problem.

Do you know any important points, which should be taken into account when creating characters?

I already have a lesson on how to learn how to draw cartoon characters in manga style on my website. It is made in the technique of a simple pencil. Unlike the previous tutorial, this manga style drawing on a tablet is very bright and colorful.

How to Draw the Eyes of a Girl in Anime Style
drawing eyes cartoon characters anime style is the basis this style. All characters of girls drawn in anime style are distinguished by huge eyes - black, green, but always huge and expressive.

Favorite cartoon character Sonic the Hedgehog is the symbol of Sega's children's video game. This game was so loved by children that Sonic the Hedgehog "moved" from the game to comics and cartoons. I offer you a very simple online lesson how to draw Sonic. Due to the fact that the lesson is made in stages, you can easily learn how to draw Sonic the Hedgehog.

Do you want to cheer yourself up? Then take a pencil and a piece of paper and try to draw the main character of the cartoon about the funny bear cub Winnie the Pooh. Paint winnie the pooh step by step it’s not difficult at all and the picture of Winnie the Pooh will definitely work out well for you.

Pictures of Spider-Man attract with their dynamism and brightness. Usually pictures from the movie "Spider-Man" become a good theme for your computer desktop, but not everywhere they can be downloaded online for free. And let's try to draw Spider-Man ourselves.

Iron Man is the hero of the cartoons and comics of the Avengers series. To complete the drawing of Iron Man, you need to be able to draw not only cartoons, but also a person.

The Winx are popular characters from a popular cartoon. To make the cartoon drawing more impressive, it needs to be colored with colored pencils. But first, learn how to draw Flora correctly - the cartoon character from the Winx, step by step with a simple pencil.

In this lesson, we learn how to draw cartoon characters in manga style with a pencil. Every anime fan wants to be able to draw manga, but it's not easy for everyone as drawing a human is difficult.

Exist different kinds anime used to draw cartoons, such as the well-known Pokemon cartoon. Drawing cartoon characters about Pokemon is very exciting, because the picture turns out to be contrasting, even if you draw a cartoon only with a simple pencil.

Patrick - character children's cartoon"Spongebob". He is SpongeBob's neighbor and is strong friends with him. The cartoon character Patrick has a rather funny awkward body. At its core, Patrick is a starfish, which is why he has a five-pointed body shape.

In this section, we will try to draw Sponge Bob or Sponge Bob step by step, as you like. sponge bob or SpongeBob is a cartoon character living at the bottom of the ocean, in the city of Bikini Bottom. The prototype for him was the most ordinary sponge for washing dishes.

In this section, we will learn how to draw a cartoon Shrek. But first, let's remember that Shrek is a troll who lives in a swamp. He has a large body and large facial features, larger than normal people.

Every girl has ever tried to draw beautiful pictures girls. But perhaps not everyone succeeded. It is very difficult to maintain exact proportions in the drawing, because it is very difficult to draw a person's face.

Dolls are different: Barbie, Bratz and just unnamed dolls, but it seemed to me that it would be more interesting for you to draw such a princess-like doll. This doll has a dress like a princess, with many decorations and a high collar, huge eyes and a smiling kind face.

Drawings of cartoon Smeshariki should be colorful and bright, it is not necessary to complete the last step of the lesson, to shade Krosh's drawing with a simple pencil. If you know how to use paints, then color Smeshariki bright colors or colored pencils.

Drawings of cartoon characters Krosh and Hedgehog are united by one common detail - the shape of their body is made in the form of a ball. A black and white sketch of the Hedgehog, made with a simple pencil, at the last step, you must definitely color it with paints or felt-tip pens, draw a colorful landscape around and then your drawing from the cartoon - Smeshariki the Hedgehog will be like a frame from a cartoon.

This drawing is dedicated famous character cartoon about Pokemon - Pikachu. Let's try to draw a Pokemon with a simple pencil in stages.

In this tutorial, I'll show you how to draw a cartoon-style portrait of Edgar Allan Poe with his beloved cat, Pluto, using standard brushes.

Final result

Step 1

Create new document with the following dimensions 1800px in height and 1200px in width. First, we will set up the brush that we use to create the main lines. In the brush set, select brush number 30, Rigid round(hard round) Opacity(opacity) brushes 75%, Pressure(Flow) brushes 35%.

Step 2

Now go to settings brushes(Brush Presets (F5) to apply the following settings, check the box Form dynamics(Shape Dynamics) and Broadcast(Transfer) and also set the value Interval(Spacing) 1%. You can see the final shape of the brush in the screenshot below.

Step 3

Create a new layer, name this layer "Poe". With the brush we have set up, start painting the face, neck, shoulders. Vary the size of the brush, use thicker strokes for clothes, thinner strokes for the face, hair and neck. Apply smooth strokes without paying attention to details later with the tool Eraser(Erase Tool), hide the extra parts of the strokes. With a tool Eraser(Erase Tool), create pupils.

Step 4

Next, create a new layer. Name this layer Body &Pluton'(Translator's note:‘Body and Pluto’). Draw the writer's body and Pluto the cat. In the screenshot below, you can see that strokes simply define basic shapes using common features instead of straight lines. Also, using the tool Eraser(Erase Tool), remove certain areas such as Pluto's eyes and Poe's fingers.

Step 5

Create a new layer. Name this layer LowerBody'(Translator's note: lower body). Paint over the area between Po's body and Pluto. This action will help to separate the two elements of the composition so that they do not merge together. Pay attention to the area that is erased on the side of Pluto's head.

Step 6

Now, let's create our own watercolor brush. On a new layer, paint two brush strokes as shown in the screenshot below using a soft round brush. Please note that the strokes are not symmetrical, this will improve the final result. Next, let's go Editing - Define brush(Edit > Define Brush), we can name our brush "Watercolor", now the brush will appear in the brush set, ready to use.

Step 7

Next, in the settings brushes(Brush Presets (F5), apply the following settings, check the box Form dynamics(Shape Dynamics) and also set the value Interval(Spacing) 1%.

Step 8

Next, check the box Diffusion(Scattering), set the settings shown in the screenshot below. Same for option Broadcast(Transfer). In the preview, you can now see the shape of the brush.

Step 9

Finally, check the box double brush(Dual Brush), select brush number 45 with the following settings, which are shown in the screenshot below. So, our watercolor brush is ready to use.

Step 10

Choose a tool Finger(Smudge Tool) and using the watercolor brush, smudge the strokes that we painted earlier. Vary the value intensity(Strength) to get the desired result.

Step 11

Create a new layer. Name this layer ‘Details’. With a hard round brush, paint small parts, such as a cat's whiskers, as well as individual hairs of wool. Next, using the tool Finger(Smudge Tool), select a soft round brush, add fur to the cat using a small diameter brush.

Step 12

Next, we'll create another brush, this time a texture brush. Using brush number 30 as the base brush, apply the following settings for options Form dynamics(Space Dynamics) and Diffusion(Scattering).

Step 13

Apply the following settings for options Broadcast(Transfer) and double brush(Dual Brush).

Step 14

Choose a tool Eraser(Eraser Tool), set the brush we just created. Using an eraser, go over the edges of Poe's jacket to simulate the effect of a watercolor dry brush.

Step 15

Next, create a new layer. Name this layer ‘Pluton’s Eyes’ ( Translator's note: Pluto's eyes). Draw the pupil of the cat, yes, do not forget that we will have only one pupil .... and also draw shadows on eyeball. With a brush white color, draw a fang, and also lighten the eye.

Step 16

To create shadows on Po's face, select the brush number 30. Apply the settings shown in the screenshot below.

Step 17

To create shadows on Poe's face, create a new layer. Name this layer ‘Poe Face Shadows’ ( Translator's note: Shadows on Po's face). Set the blend mode for this layer to Normal(Normal), layer opacity 60%. Start painting shadows on the cheeks, chin, eye sockets, etc. Apply a few strokes to get a darker shade.

Step 18

Now let's create the background. Create a new layer below all the other layers we have created. Name this layer 'Background'. Choose a tool Gradient(Gradient Tool), select brown as the color of the gradient, gradient type from base color to transparent. Drag the gradient from bottom to top as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 19

Next, we will add highlights. Create a new layer, name this layer ‘Highlights’. With the brush we created in Step 16, color white, paint highlights, I chose the center light, so it affected the top parts of the image as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 20

To add a vignette effect to the background, let's go Filter - Distortion - Lens Correction(Filters > Distort > Lens Correction), in the settings Vignettes(Vignette) install Effect(Amount) dimming -40, this will be enough.

Step 21

To create the Paper texture, we will add a real paper image. Create a new layer, name this layer ‘Paper Texture’. Change the blending mode for this layer to Multiplication(Multiply), layer opacity 30%. Next, copy/paste the paper texture on this layer.

Translator's note: position the Paper texture above the gradient fill layer.

Step 22

Next, we'll add a highlight effect behind the Poe image. Create a new layer, name this layer ‘Highlight’. Change the blending mode for this layer to Light replacement(Lighten), layer opacity 50%. With a tool oval region(Elliptical Marquee Tool), draw a circle. Place a circle behind Po's shoulders. Fill the created round selection with white. Next, let's go Filter- Blur- BlurByGauss(Filter > Blur > Gaussian Bluer), and blur the edges. To prevent the white glow from overlapping Poe's image, use a layer mask to hide the excess areas.

Step 23

We continue to add textures. Create a new layer, name this layer ‘Watercolor Texture’. Change the blending mode for this layer to Light replacement(Lighten), layer opacity 80%. Copy / paste the watercolor texture on the created layer. The result should be like the screenshot below.

Step 24

Add more textures…..Create a new layer, name this layer “Worn Texture”. Change the blending mode for this texture layer to Soft light(Soft Light), layer opacity 80%. In the same way, add another watercolor texture to give the painting an aged look. Note that the textures are placed below the Po and Pluto layers so that their images remain clean on the remaining surface.

Step 25

The lesson is almost over. Create new group, move all layers to the created group. Next, save the working image in .JPG format, and then open the saved file in our working paper, placing it on top of all other layers.

Step 26

With a tool clarifier(Dodge Tool), lighten some areas of the image to add contrast. For this purpose it is good to use a watercolor brush.

Step 27

Let's add another vignette effect, let's go Filter - Distortion Correction(Filters > Lens Correction), set the Vignette Darkness to -30.

Step 28

Finally, we'll add a little noise effect to our painting. Create a new layer, name this layer "Noise". Change the blending mode for this layer to Multiplication(Multiply), fill this layer (Shift + F5) with white. Next, let's go Filter - Noise - Add Noise(Filters > Noise > Add Noise), set the amount of noise between 8 and 10, this should be enough.

More and more simple online photo editors are not able to process the photo in such a way as to make the photos truly interesting. Learning complex programs, such as Photoshop, is not for everyone. However, those who want to add variety to their pictures will always find a way. Upload a portrait photo to the service and you can make amazing facial changes: face morphing, facial expressions, and, finally, face animation! That is, lips, cheeks, eyebrows and eyelids will really move! Creating such an effect will take no more than a minute!

The service also provides many other features. Here you can create not only realistic facial expressions , such as a wink, a sweet smile, a sly squint, sincere surprise, or a sad lowering of the corners of the lips, but also a lot of parodic effects . In addition, you can apply a cartoon effect to each caricature. . Parody effects are like creating a cartoon from a photo, or a photo caricature: just as fun, but incomparably easier and faster. Upload your portrait photo (or a photo of a friend ;)) and transform into an alien, a fat man, a lightbulb man or a troll!

Face animation is a unique animated avatar!

Have you ever thought about your avatar? Is it individual? Does it reflect your personality? The surest way to make an avatar "yours" is to put on it own face. But everyone can just cut out a face from a photo, it's boring. Mega original change face you can visit the site. Your avatar can become either animated or static (for those sites and social networks, which disable animation). Smile at your friends, wink at them, or make faces. They will appreciate your new avatar!

Effects for photos and online photo fun: manufacturing technology

Creating photo effects with a face is a whole science. First, you need to correctly find the main features of the face, such as the corners of the eyes and mouth, nose. Secondly, it is correct to set the function of their transformation, for example, the sequence of frames for the smooth appearance of a smile. Then, at correct selection parameters, you can get excellent results. But don't worry, the site will do it all for you, and completely automatically!

Application cartoon effect (or comic book effect, hand-drawn image effect) requires finding the sharpest edges in the photo. These borders are then carefully drawn, the number of colors in the photo is reduced and the transitions between adjacent colors are smoothed out. Thus, by applying the Cartoon effect photo filter, you can make a cool cartoon picture out of a portrait photo.

Children are the main audience we are talking about the cartoon. A good cartoonist is one who can highlight the main details of an object or person and simplify the figure so that the child can recognize and be attracted to what they are viewing.

Your role here is to understand how to assemble this puzzle correctly and definitely learn how to build any drawing using this technique. I guarantee you will be shocked how easy it is to create cartoon characters that kids (and adults) will love!

General information about human perception

The human being has a very interesting feature: We can synthesize the details that make up a structure or an object in very complex ways in the most basic and simple. Thus, we can represent any type of thing through several curves and geometric shapes.

Can you tell me if the two images below represent the same object?

Strange as it may seem, you can look at two pictures and say, "it's a car."

It happens that, unlike artists, most people cannot tell from memory all the details that make up a car, a dog, or even a child. Therefore, they begin to associate basic and primitive forms for the specific characteristics of each object. How many children of 4, 5 or 6 years old came from school with drawing two circles and some sticks on a piece of paper and said "Here's mom and dad!"?

1. Let's Create Our First Character

The basic shape of the cartoon is a circle. The circle is all you need (besides love, of course). This is from a circle that indicates the main proportions of the character's head.

Once the circle is ready, it's time to trace the axis of the face. Swipe vertical and horizontal line, intersecting in the center, as in the picture below:

Step 1

For the eyes, draw an oval shape with a slight slope to the side at the top. Repeat on the opposite side. It is important to leave a gap between them of approximately the same size as the eyes. Since we are in the editorial phase, you can make another eye in the center to serve as a yardstick.

Step 2

At the top of the circle, slightly thicken the line that will be the eyelashes from our character. Place the eyebrows slightly above the eyelashes to hold a peculiar expression of surprise. The shape of the eyebrows is free and over time you will adapt to your own style.

Draw the eyes pointing towards the center (this is a very effective tactic used by the biggest multipliers, sole purpose which is to make our characters look cuter).

tip: To give more life and "realism" in our eyes you can draw a small line under them to mimic the look of wrinkles. This is another very interesting tactic that gives a special flavor to our facial expressions.

Step 3

We approached in the most creative freedom of the whole course. Think of it this way: In cartoon style designs, the main structure of the face is the character's skull and eyes. It is at this stage, where you define identification with the outside world, IE, that it is already clear to people that you are drawing a character.

Now, when we come to the jaw, we will decide what kind of character we need. Maybe old, young and so on. My character will be young. So let's design a proper jaw for him.

Step 4

When designing the nose, looking at it from the front, it is common not to use a lot of detail. If you paint only the tip of it, it is likely that you already achieve a convincing effect. This method is also very common to draw in detail only one side of the nose, from the idea that it is the opposite side of the world.

Let's draw the right nose for our character.

step 5

Since our character is a child, we'll make a cartoon mouth: something simple just to represent an expression of innocence.

Please note that when composing the mouth small child, lips do not have to be made! IN cartoon style, children, regardless of gender, have a fairly simple mouth. A good and expressive footprint is already doing its job.

Step 6

The ears are visible from the front side view (because our hero is facing the camera), so no internal cavities will appear. Then we will only do simple form with some basic perspectives (more on that later).

Step 7

The shape of our skull is already determined by the circle we made at the beginning, right? So, we need a very simple and childish haircut to give life to our boy. Let's do it now.

I don't know how to draw hair! Help!

No one needs to be a stylist or fashion designer to get perfect hair. There is no The right way draw the hair so you will have to try until you create the perfect haircut you want. Just remember that hair is responsible for defining the personality of our characters. Oddly enough, hair can express age, conservatism... By the way... how do you like your hairstyle?! Oh never mind

An accurate quick and easy way to draw cartoon hairstyles is to search for a photo on the net! I do it all the time: get a fashion magazine or google it. After finding the perfect style, place an example image next to the drawing board and start making a cartoonish and simplified version.

Well, it looks like we finished our character successfully! Congratulations!
