In the play "Crystal Palace" - The Jester

Brilliant artist, one of the five best ballet dancers planet, shares his thoughts about the upcoming performance.

"My creative biography extends to the entire ballet space of Russia, Europe and America, and originates in the Belarusian Choreographic College. Since 2006, I have worked at the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, where I reached the position of premier. In 2011, I decided to become a “world dancer” in order to realize my creative potential as much as possible. I have accepted many different invitations from the largest choreographic venues in the world, I am actively trying myself in different styles, different dance styles, classic and modern. I always follow my creative intuition and am open to interesting things. dance projects, especially if there are real historical events behind it.

When I was asked to think about participating in a Russian-Maltese project, I immediately became interested in the concept of the play and the libretto. Play " Crystal Palace“, where the plot takes place during the reign of the Russian Empress Anna Ioannovna, certainly required my participation! I have danced heroes and princes many times. I also had the opportunity to dance jesters, but this tragic image I immediately imagined it in a technical and performing manner, and, of course, I liked it, so I agreed to participate in the project, despite the most difficult work schedule. It was also extremely important and interesting for me that in this project we would play lovers together with my beloved wife, the soloist of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, Maria Vinogradova. It’s not often that we have the good fortune to work together on stage, especially in a full-fledged performance. This opportunity should not be missed. We got married quite recently, and quite often we have to separate because of work. When I saw my wife in a snow-white veil during a rehearsal for one of the scenes of the play, I realized how the right decision we accepted when we agreed to participate together in the production. It was also very pleasant to learn that the director and choreographer of the ballet came up with and created these roles for Maria and me. It's a great honor for anyone creative personality. It is very important and reverent for every artistic couple to “live” the stories of “Romeo and Juliet” over and over again in various genre interpretations.

Ivan Vasiliev:
“In this project we will play lovers together with my beloved wife”

I have already noted more than once in various interviews that dance, and not only effective dance, is my life. Now it is important and interesting for me to create dance, choreographic performance, and think through complex images. This is one of the reasons why I accept invitations to participate in completely new ballet productions. I create the image myself and watch how the choreographer does it with other artists - my partners, I absorb the process. And the incarnation historical events today is doubly interesting. It trains the mind, intellect and gives wisdom.

My talented and beautiful wife Maria supports me in everything, for which I am incredibly grateful to her, because only with the total support of such a crazy creative personality like me, everything will be embodied in the most beautiful options.”

Born in Moscow. In 2006 she graduated from Moscow state academy choreography (teacher Natalia Revich) and was accepted into the ballet troupe of the Bolshoi Theater. She rehearsed under the direction of Tatyana Golikova.
Maria Vinogradova is the famous leading soloist of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. Currently rehearsing under the direction of Nina Semizorova.
Her repertoire includes such roles as Phrygia (Spartacus by A. Khachaturian, choreography by Y. Grigorovich), Anastasia (Ivan the Terrible, music by S. Prokofiev, choreography by Y. Grigorovich), Myrta (Giselle, revised by V. Asiliev), Giselle (“Giselle”, revised by Y. Grigorovich), Olga (“Onegin” to music by P. Tchaikovsky, choreography by J. Cranko), Shirin (“Legend of Love” by A. Melikov, choreography by Y. Grigorovich), La Sylphide (La Sylphide by H. S. Levenskold, revised by J. Kobborg), Bela (Hero of Our Time by I. Demutsky, choreography by Y. Posokhov, directed by K. Serebrennikov), Masha (The Nutcracker, revised by Y. Grigorovich).

In the play "Crystal Palace" - The Jester's Bride

The beautiful ballerina is the wife of the famous Ivan Vasiliev, with whom she will dance a love duet.

Participation of a famous soloist ballet troupe Bolshoi Theater in creative project“Crystal Palace” is a landmark event for a new choreographic performance.

Maria understands very well the exclusivity of the creative process, since it is not often that libretto authors and choreographers in the 19th century undertake the implementation of historical themes behind which real events stand.

Performing the part of the court Jester, the beloved of the court Jester, who lived at court great empress Anna Ioannovna is a great creative success, according to Maria Vinogradova. In addition to the complex technical and performing content of the part, the image assumes a real tragic component, truly, all the nuances of human experiences and fears that lead to tragedy. To dance love, joy, fun and “buffoonery”, which coexist with suffering, confusion and anxiety - this is a very difficult creative process, which Maria lives with Ivan Vasiliev, an outstanding contemporary dancer and her husband.

Maria Allash, prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater, the first performer of the leading roles in the most famous performances of the Bolshoi Theater - “Swan Lake”, “Esmeralda” and many others. Has the title of Honored Artist Russian Federation And People's Artist Russian Federation.
Maria Allash considers participation in the upcoming premiere of the choreographic project “Crystal Palace” to be a huge creative success for all the artists involved in the production.
It should be noted that Maria Allash has always been very selective in her repertoire, which she performed outside the walls of her native theater - the Bolshoi. Her love for historical and fabulous librettos is known to all her creative colleagues and friends. Allash is truly a Princess in her appearance and excellent physical characteristics. The most beautiful images ballet theater- Odette, Aurora, Kitri, Lilac Fairy, Queen of Dryads -
For many years, they have embellished not only the ballerina’s personal repertoire, but also performances staged on the famous stages of the Bolshoi Theater.

In the play “Crystal Palace” - Queen of Diamonds

The role of the Queen of Diamonds, on which the fate of the main characters depends, its “icy” essence and strictness become clear to the ballerina like no one else. The choreographer had no doubts and no other options but to invite the Queen of Diamonds to the project. Only she is able to geometrically arrange her courtiers, who, stone by stone, build the Ice House, where the lovers will end up. The tragic beauty that Maria Allash embodies in the performance is truly a work of art that brings real creative pleasure to the ballerina.

Anna Aglatova, soloist of the Bolshoi Theater. Opera singer, soloist of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. Since her first appearance on stage, she has been a participant in many prestigious international competitions, had solo
performances throughout Europe. In 2005, performing the role of Nanette in the opera Falstaff, she made her debut at the Bolshoi Theater, becoming its youngest soloist. Since then, she has been involved in almost all opera productions of the theater.

In the play “Crystal Palace” - Opera Diva

“This project is unique primarily because on stage there is a simultaneous interweaving of two of the most bohemian forms of art, opera and ballet. The director's idea is so organic that I am sure the viewer will be fascinated by the appearance opera singer on stage next to sophisticated ballet dancers.

It's always interesting to be the first to do something. My main task on stage is always to sing beautifully and be an actress. In this production I will add to my tasks to be graceful.”

Maria Golubkina is a famous Russian film and theater actress. She grew up in a family of famous artists, Larisa Golubkina, who is known to viewers from the brilliant film “The Hussar Ballad,” and Andrei Mironov, everyone’s favorite for his roles in legendary films“The Diamond Arm”, “The Man from the Boulevard des Capuchins” and many others.
Maria Golubkina worked at the Moscow Satire Theater and at the Moscow drama theater them. Pushkin, played in such films as “The Frenchman”, “Adam’s Rib”, in the TV series “Leningrad” and “Yesenin”. In addition, Maria is a master of sports in equestrian sports and regularly participates in horse racing, which is important, because Anna Ioannovna, whose role is played by Maria, will appear on stage on a horse.

Maria Golubkina

In the play “Crystal Palace” - Empress Anna Ioannovna

“It’s a great honor for me to be involved in this project. This is new to me theater experience. I have never participated in a theatrical ballet production of this scale before.

I am proud of the history of my country, because whoever does not remember his past has no future. I want as many people as possible to know the history of Russia.

The Baroque period is one of my favorites, so touching this era makes my heart flutter.

My heroine, Anna Ioannovna, appears on horseback in one of the scenes. In general, animals very often appear on world theater stages. But this is always difficult, you need to work hard with them, and also follow safety precautions.

I owe my love for horses to my grandfather and his stories about the beauty and intelligence of the horses that his parents bred. I’ve been involved in dressage since I was nine years old and have a Grand Prix horse.”

Pavel Klinichev,
conductor of the Bolshoi Theater

The famous ballerina and simply beautiful Maria Vinogradova dances on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater. HELLO! represents exclusive photo session and interviews nova Russian ballet She dances Sylphide and Giselle, Sparta’s friend Phrygia in the ballet of the same name, and the savage Bela in the new play “Hero of Our Time” based on Lermontov, staged by choreographer Yuri Possokhov and director Kirill Serebrennikov at the end of last season. Talented, artistic, technical, perfectly proportioned, a real beauty Maria Vinogradova is the decoration of the Bolshoi Theater stage. Last summer, Maria Vinogradova became the wife of the famous dancer, star of the Bolshoi and Mikhailovsky theaters Ivan Vasiliev: now they dance together more and more often. On October 3, Vasiliev and Vinogradova appeared together in “Giselle” on the stage of the Mikhailovsky Theater in St. Petersburg, and in the spring Maria takes part in new premiere, which her husband prepares.

Masha, was it your childhood dream to become a ballerina?

Yes, I was only three years old, but I could no longer live without dancing and music. My parents saw my passion and decided to send me to a dance club. There my abilities began to manifest themselves. I turned out to have very soft, mobile joints - in children, in principle, they are soft and elastic, but they could simply “tie” me into any knot. (Smiles.) For some time I studied in this circle, and then I was accepted into the Loktev Song and Dance Ensemble. There I learned that all the girls were entering some mysterious choreography academy. I decided that I needed to go there too.

- Are your parents from the ballet world?

No, absolutely. Mom is an economist, and dad is a chemist. No connections in ballet world they never had...

- That is, you did not enter the choreography academy through connections.

What are you doing, for what reason? I don't accept this approach at all. Simply due to my stubborn character: I am a Gemini by horoscope - I always achieve my goal.

At the academy, you probably dreamed of becoming a soloist, and not “the third swan from the right”?

Well, of course. (Smiles.) Appetite comes with eating. In the first grade of the school, I was not yet very good at standing on my feet by ballet standards: I had a B in classical dance, but from the second grade onwards it was “excellent”. I studied a lot, and over time they began to give me solo parts. When I appeared on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater in “La Bayadère” - there is a small part there, which is usually performed by students of the academy - I realized that I only wanted to dance here, on this legendary stage. In 2006, after graduating from the academy, I was invited to audition at the Bolshoi Theater and was accepted into the troupe.

- At the Bolshoi Theater did you start with the corps de ballet?

Yes, this is a common practice: no matter what leading roles you danced at the academy, in the theater you start everything from scratch. I started with the second cord of the ballet. Then I moved to the first one. Then she became a luminary, soloist, first soloist. I went all the way - from the very first step to the leading soloist.

- What is your favorite role today? Giselle, perhaps?

Yes, Giselle. I also really love the role of Shirin in “The Legend of Love” by Yuri Grigorovich, a ballet that returned to the Bolshoi Historical Stage last season. When the theater was being renovated, the play left the repertoire, and I consider it a great blessing that it was returned. Again, it’s a pleasure to work with Yuri Nikolaevich Grigorovich. I first came into contact with him when I danced Anastasia in his ballet “Ivan the Terrible” - he approved me for this role. Yuri Nikolaevich is a real genius.

IN ballet premiere In the Bolshoi performance "Hero of Our Time", you dance Bela. Did the producers recognize your hot temperament?

Don't know. (Laughs.) But I really like my heroine, and the whole party as a whole is very beautiful. But not simple. For the entire 30 minutes the performance lasts, you are on stage, and there is no way to even catch your breath. Plus a complicated costume. It is three-layer. As the action progresses, I undress and remain in my top and pants, but before that I have to dance with such a “load.”

- Masha, are you bold and wild, like Bela?

- (Laughs.) I’m not sure if I’m wild, but unpredictable. It's best to ask my husband about this. Vanya tells me: “Every time I don’t know what to expect from you.”

You met while rehearsing Spartak. How did your romance come about? He is Spartacus, you are Phrygia. You are separated at the slave market...

- (Smiles.) I don’t think it’s worth drawing such parallels...

- How did Ivan Vasiliev captivate you? Besides talent, of course.

To many... I love him very much. He's simply the best. Vanya has an amazing sense of humor. And he is also an honest, open and, most importantly, responsible person.

- So it’s like behind a stone wall behind him?

Yes, that's right.

- And you are fragile, tender. Capricious?

Capricious. (Smiles.) It happens that my mood changes often. But Vanya always takes everything absolutely calmly. Never gets irritated, never gets worked up. The ideal person for me. Absolutely.

It is not difficult to assume that, among other things, you conquered him with your beauty. In general, is beauty for a ballerina a reward or “not the most important thing”?

I don’t know... Sometimes I hear addressed to myself: “Here, that little face is cute, that’s why she dances.” I wouldn't want people to think of me that way. Moreover, I don’t consider myself to be any special beauty. We have a lot beautiful girls in the theater.

- Does gossip upset you?

I have a strong character. I already said: if I want, I won’t pay attention to anything - that’s how it cut off. There are, of course, moments that hurt me. In such cases, I begin to worry, and Vanya calms me down: “Okay, that’s it, stop thinking about it already...”

- How do you feel about criticism?

Ivan Vasiliev

The problem was that we had absolutely no time. We had a hard time finding a date when we were both in Moscow. Vanya arrived in Moscow only at 3 am on the wedding day. We just got married and had dinner with our parents... But maybe we'll have a celebration.

- How did Ivan propose?

I returned home from rehearsal. I walked in and saw that the whole room was strewn with rose petals.

- Does he spoil you?

Yes, it's terrible. (Laughs.) He constantly gives me some gifts.

- Which was the most memorable?

I had a premiere - Vanya was not in Moscow, and he sent me flowers to the theater. After the performance, I go up to the service entrance, and there is a basket larger than my car. I left it there like that. And the next day the guys helped me carry it to the dressing room - it took up almost the entire room.

- Do you like to make surprises yourself?

I love it very much! Recently I made a surprise. We had a week left until the end of our vacation, and I bought a small tour to Rome for three days. I booked everything, ordered wonderful excursions - to the Vatican and the Colosseum. Vanya had been to Rome many times, but always during a tour, so, in fact, he had not seen anything, but he had a long-standing dream of visiting the Colosseum. He dances Spartacus, and it was important for him to see with his own eyes the arena where the gladiator fights took place, to feel the atmosphere. It seemed to me that Vanya was very happy.

Your husband says that you are an amazing cook, and once, for the sake of your cutlets, he almost refused a meeting with the President of Russia after the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Sochi. What kind of cutlets were these so magical?

Turkey cutlets with buckwheat. (Laughs.)

- Where did you learn to cook so deliciously?

My mother cooks very tasty - probably this skill was passed on to me from her. Plus, I was always interested in different cuisines and found recipes on the Internet.

People think that a ballerina and a kitchen are incompatible things, like genius and villainy.

This is not true at all. Ballerinas cook just like everyone else. In the summer, my ballerina friend and I made dumplings. I bake pies and cook soups. Of course, when time allows. If performances are on every day, then I don’t do it. But I always make breakfast: porridge, omelettes, scrambled eggs...

Are Vasiliev and Vinogradova at home and Vasiliev and Vinogradova on stage two different couples? Can you love each other in your free time from work and fight while rehearsing?

We don't argue under any circumstances. I always listen to Vanya - his opinion is very important to me. Although it happens that I am not in the mood or he is mischievous.

- You danced in his first ballet production “Ballet No. 1” and now you are preparing something interesting...

You know, I remember working on “Ballet No. 1” as a very difficult time. (Smiles.) Because not only did we work in the rehearsal room all day, but at home Vanya continued to dance and come up with something. I told him: “Will you ever calm down already? Rest.” He would sit on the sofa, rest for two minutes, get up and start dancing again: “But if so, look?” I remember I was in the kitchen, and he was in the room. He “dances” halfway across the apartment and ends up next to me. (Laughs.) Now we are starting rehearsals for Vanya’s new performances, and I feel that history will repeat itself.

You started your theater season with Swan Lake. You are performing a Russian dance: a Russian beauty in a kokoshnik - a role that seems to have been created for you. But you want to become Odette-Odile?

Yes, Odette-Odile is a dream. But for this image you need to “mature”.

Today the soloist of the Bolshoi and Mikhailovsky theaters Ivan Vladimirovich Vasiliev, despite his youth, is known all over the world. Every day there is a new achievement, and all thanks to hard work and determination. However, 2015 was truly a landmark year for him. He married his scene partner, incredible beautiful ballerina Maria Vinogradova, and also made his debut as a choreographer, staging his first performance “Ballet No. 1” in the Barvikha Luxury Village hall. In this article we will tell you about early period life, about becoming a ballet dancer and about what kind of person the talented dancer and choreographer Ivan Vasiliev is off the stage.

Biography

The future star of the Bolshoi and St. Petersburg Mikhailovsky Theaters was born in the village of Tavrichanka (Primorsky Territory), in a family that had nothing to do with art. His father, Vladimir Viktorovich Vasiliev, by the way, the full namesake of the famous premiere of the Bolshoi Theater of the 60-70s, was a military officer, and his mother did not work anywhere, remaining his faithful companion, who was everywhere, from one republic to another, from military unit to unit , followed him, ran the household and raised their sons. When Vanya was 4 years old, the family moved to Ukraine, Dnepropetrovsk. Soon after this, the mother decided to send her eldest son to kindergarten folk ensemble. Vanya was still very young, but he liked it so much dance hall, and he began to do such things there that the leader of the ensemble became interested in the musical and flexible little one, and decided to make an exception for him, accepting him and his older brother into the group.

Introduction to ballet

It so happened in the life of a dancer that no matter where Ivan Vasiliev studied, he always found himself a couple of years younger than his classmates. At the age of 7, the boy and his mother went to ballet for the first time. Throughout the entire performance, he did not utter a word and only his enthusiastically sparkling eyes spoke better than any words about what was going on in his soul. He left the theater completely in love with this view. high art. At home, he began to ask his parents to send him to ballet school. It was not easy for the military man to get used to the idea that his son wanted to connect his life with such a “non-male” occupation. However, the mother managed to convince the father that their son was probably born just for this, and the father gave in. Soon, Ivan Vasiliev was on the list of those admitted to the first class of the Dnepropetrovsk choreographic school. From that moment on, ballet became an integral part of his life. The boy did not particularly stand out for his physical characteristics; on the contrary, some choreographers thought that with this type of figure, not at all slender and short legs (the main “tool” of a dancer), he would not be able to achieve great heights in this form dance art, however, time has shown that they were wrong. In the meantime, the boy surprised everyone with his efficiency, incredible energy and determination.

Education

Then fate brought the family of the future soloist the best theaters countries to the Republic of Belarus, and here Ivan Vladimirovich Vasiliev enters the Belarusian State Choreographic College, where he begins to study classical ballet under the direction of Honored Worker of the Republic of Belarus, choreographer A. Kolyadenko. By the way, despite his young age (12 years old), Vanya was immediately accepted into the 3rd year, since during the entrance exam he began to perform the following complex elements, which began to be taught in college only towards the end of the second year. Soon he was sent to a competition, where he performed variations that were part of the program for older dancers and, naturally, surprised the jury members.

External data

The dancer says that some teachers did not want to see the obvious and did not believe that something good would come out of him, based on his physical parameters. They could not even imagine that Ivan Vasiliev would bring so many new things. Ballet, the height for which has great value, rather conservative art. Ivan’s height, of course, was far from tall, and the choreographers doubted whether he could look beautiful on stage, and his legs were a bit short, and, as some teachers said, they betrayed his plebeian roots. But, as you can see, they were wrong. Ivan Vasiliev proved that to achieve heights in a dancer’s career, appearance is not the most important thing, although the young man worked on his body to the point of exhaustion, as a result of training, he, the word sculptor, sculpted something perfect out of it. It is impossible not to admire his torso; it is worthy of admiration, resembling an isosceles triangle with its apex turned towards the waist.

To Moscow

Having not yet graduated from college, Ivan Vasiliev, in whose life ballet played the most important role at that time, important role, completed an internship at the Belarusian Bolshoi Theater and performed solo roles in productions of Don Quixote and Corsair. However, all his thoughts were connected with Moscow - this is where he saw himself in the future. And so, having received his diploma, he took a train ticket and, at his own risk, went to the capital of the country, which he considered his homeland. He was, of course, dissuaded, but in Moscow, no matter what you say, true talent is valued.

Premier of the country's main theater

In 2006, the talented dancer was accepted into the Bolshoi Theater, where he made his debut in the play “Don Quixote” in the role of Basil. After 4 years, he already became the premiere of the ballet troupe, bypassing the title of leading soloist, which happened extremely rarely. Here he performed the main roles in the legendary performances: “Giselle”, “Spartacus”, “The Nutcracker”, “Don Quixote”, “Petrushka”. His director and choreographer was Yuri Vladimirov. Before becoming the prime minister, Ivan Vasiliev successfully took part in a magnificent international project. Kings of Dance" (2009). Here he danced on the same stage with such famous dancers as David Hallberg, Jose Manuel Carreno, Joaquin De Luz, and compatriots Nikolai Tsiskaridze, Denis Matvienko and others.

Ivan Vasiliev: Mikhailovsky Theater

It's no secret that being a premier of the Bolshoi Theater is the cherished dream of all ballet dancers, the pinnacle of their career. And imagine the surprise of all the initiates when they learned that Ivan Vasiliev and Natalya Osipova (his partner in many performances and his friend) refused to rehearse “Don Quixote” and decided to leave for St. Petersburg, and not to the Mariinsky, A Mikhailovsky Theater. Of course, this sounded like a bolt from the blue. The Bolshoi management was at a loss. Contains such strange information professional biography. Ivan Vasiliev later explained his decision by saying that he needed a new incentive, a new tough motivation. However, the Bolshoi did not want to completely part with his favorite, and today he is a “guest star” for the theater. By the way, in the same capacity he performs at La Scala, in the Roman opera house, Bavarian Ballet, Mariinsky and Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theaters, and also regularly appears on the stage of the American Ballet Theater. He managed to raise the Mikhailovsky Theater to an incredible level. Here he performs leading roles in ballet productions of Don Quixote, The Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadère, Giselle, Flames of Paris, Corsair, Swan Lake, Laurencia, Cavalry Rest, “La Sylphide”, “Vain Precaution”, etc. Ivan Vasiliev, of course, managed to reach the very top in his dancer’s career. He is among the highest paid ballet dancers in the entire world. Wasn't that all he was aiming for?

Choreographer

No. I. Vasiliev says that already at the age of 12, analyzing the work of his choreographers, and in his heart disagreeing with them, he dreamed that the time will come, and he himself will be able to make his own production. In 2015, at the end of spring, he managed to fulfill his dream. His debut performance was “Ballet No. 1”, where he used incredible stunts and elements, as if wanting to show where possibilities can go human body, both in solo and duet parts. The premiere took place on the stage of the Barvikha Luxury Village hall and had incredible success. The main thing is that the choreographer himself was pleased with himself, and he said that this was just the beginning, new incredible productions awaited everyone.

Ivan Vasiliev: personal life

After Vasiliev arrived in Moscow and got a job at the Bolshoi Theater, he began a relationship with a colleague, Natalya Osipova. In tandem with her, over the course of 4 years they went to the title of premier and prima of the country's main theater. After this, all the acquaintances expected that the couple would legalize their relationship and have a grand wedding, but suddenly it broke up, and soon Ivan began to be noticed in the company of another Bolshoi Theater ballerina, Maria Vinogradova. They danced in a duet in the ballet “Spartacus”. After this, the young people started dating after rehearsals, and for the first date, I. Vasiliev invited his girlfriend to the Bolshoi Theater, but not to the ballet, but to the opera. Probably, it was funny for them to find themselves, although in a familiar environment, not on their own stage, but in front of it, in the auditorium.

Wedding

Yours marriage proposal Vanya made Maria in a very romantic setting. He covered the entire room with rose petals and decorated it balloons. He got down on one knee, like a medieval knight, and handed his beloved a box with an incredibly expensive ring. It turned out that it was a designer’s work from the famous jewelry brand “Graff”, which cost the artist $50,000. Well, what girl could resist such a confession? Maria, naturally, gave her consent, and they began to prepare for the wedding, which took place in the summer of 2015. The wedding ceremony was very beautiful, and the couple looked more than happy. Exactly a year after this, Maria and Ivan had their first child, daughter Anna.

Even those who had not heard her name and could not recognize her by sight knew about Maria Vinogradova. The directors called the actress the “episode queen,” and the country watched foreign films and soviet cartoons, whose characters spoke in her voice.

Childhood and youth

Masha Vinogradova was born on July 13, 1922 in the Ivanovo region, in the town of Navoloki. The girl’s parents were kind and receptive people, and her mother was a sociable woman, not without a creative streak. When Maria was little, her mother told her fairy tales, which she herself composed.

The girl inherited mischief from her mother. One day, the future artist jumped over the fence into someone else’s garden, and there was a goat. She butted the girl so much that she instantly flew back, and Vinogradova’s peers have since nicknamed her Masha-Goat.

The girl wanted to perform since childhood. The “debut” took place in kindergarten: Masha was tied with a huge bow and pushed onto the stage to read poems about Lenin.

While studying at school, the girl spent a lot of time in clubs and was interested in amateur activities. She sang in the choir - she had an alto, deep voice, boyish. Together with the choir, she traveled to the Ivanovo region, and the group received award diplomas more than once.

After school, Maria made up her mind and went to the capital to take the entrance exams at VGIK. The year was 1939, Lev Kuleshov was taking a course at the institute, and the competition on the day Masha took her exams was huge - there were only 3 places left. The girl was almost not worried: she had time to get used to the stage, and the jury seemed friendly.

However, the exam did not go according to plan: Maria was not allowed to read either a fable, a poem, or a prepared prose passage from “The Legend of Danko,” and when she began to sing “Cucaracha” at the request of the examiners, the commission roared with laughter. After the sketch, the girl was asked if she could dance, and they were right - Vinogradova could do it and loved it. Kuleshov’s wife, Alexandra, even stood up from her chair to get a better look at the girl.

On this day, two young men and “small, dark one,” as the secretary of the commission, Masha Vinogradova, called her, took part in the competition. During her studies, students and teachers nicknamed the girl Mukha for her mischief, irrepressible character and frantic energy.

Creation

In 1940, Maria Vinogradova made her film debut in the film “Siberians”. The 18-year-old girl played a 6th grade student - even then she became a travesty.

By the time the 2nd year ended, the war began, and the VGIK students were evacuated to Alma-Ata. We traveled in difficult conditions for a month, and when we got there, we found ourselves on half-starvation rations: 400 g of bread was not enough for the young guys. Maria Sergeevna later recalled that the artist children forged cards for bread and this saved her. Later, the students were assigned to the cafeteria, where the food was jokingly nicknamed “no pasaran” due to its difficulty in digestion.

In her 3rd year, Masha starred in the film “We are from the Urals” about working youth who helped the front. But the film was never released - the film was harshly criticized for excessive frivolity, which had no place in wartime. Vinogradova herself, who saw the film only in old age and even then not in its entirety, I valued this work highly.

In 1944, Maria graduated from VGIK, receiving a diploma with honors, and went to work at the Theater-Studio of a Film Actor. Then there was filming in Poland, in the film “ Last stage" - the world's first film about fascist concentration camps and the tragedy of the Holocaust. This is one of Vinogradova’s few leading roles, and filming was psychologically difficult: the theme was scary, the scenery was a real women’s camp.

Returning to Moscow, Masha found herself in a difficult situation: there was nowhere to live, and the main committee soon stopped paying for the girl’s rented room. Then Vinogradova, together with part of the troupe of the Film Actor's Theater, went to Potsdam, to the Group Theater Soviet troops in Germany. Due to her height, build and appearance, Masha first played the role of a drag queen. Over time, the repertoire expanded, and she played many character roles. Returning to Moscow, the actress remained faithful to the Film Actor Theater and left only when scandals began in the troupe.

Next main role Maria Vinogradova played in films only in 1958. At the age of 36, she again played a child, the main character in the film "Star Boy", and from the photo it is difficult to tell that the boy is portrayed adult woman. The artist's career in cinema consisted mainly of episodic roles. The actress never refused them - both because she didn’t like to say “no” and because she didn’t want to “fall out of the picture.”

She made an acting sketch out of each episode, putting talent into even a tiny role. Her role continued to be specific: small characters, barmaids, old women. Against this background, the role in the film “From the Life of Vacationers” stands out, where the actress played an arrogant beauty.

Vinogradov got the role by accident: she initially invited her to the film, but she set unbearable conditions for the director. Maria was called in mainly because she was unfailing - she did not fit in either in appearance or in temperament. However, she hit the mark and then all her life Gubenko was grateful for the chance to play an unusual character.

Unpretentiousness, energy and willingness to work always, in any conditions, led to the fact that in the absence big roles Vinogradova was always extremely busy. As a result, the “queen of episodes” turned out to be one of the most sought-after actresses in Soviet cinema, and even during perestroika times, when few films were released, she continued to work a lot.

For a long time Vinogradova was called “the most popular undeserved artist” - she received an important title for an actress only in 1987.

Another milestone in Maria Vinogradova’s artistic biography is dubbing. The actress had with a unique voice, which did not match his appearance, and he turned out to be more in demand than Maria herself.

Animation became an outlet for the artist. Here she could give herself freedom and play mischief for her own pleasure. Maria Sergeevna liked that in Soviet animation The characters' movements were often drawn after the sound was recorded. And then how the drawn hero would behave depended on the actor’s voice and intonation.

Children will easily remember the characters voiced by Maria: this is Sharik from “A Kitten Named Woof”, and the Little Robber. Moreover, Vinogradova voiced the latter in 1982, when the cartoon was restored at the studio named after. Gorky. The voice, young and beautiful, allowed me to speak for a teenage girl at the age of 60.

Maria Vinogradova voiced the cartoon “Hedgehog in the Fog”

The most important and most difficult voice acting role for Maria was the famous Hedgehog in the Fog. The cartoon character only has a few phrases, but the recording took time: I had to find the right timbre, the right intonation, and figure out how to say “Crazy!” so that it does not sound rude, but betrays fear. Vinogradova treated the role with tenderness and creative evenings often imagined:

“Hello, says the Hedgehog in the fog.”

Maria Sergeevna’s last role was the executioner’s wife in the TV series “Queen Margot”. The actress never saw herself on screen - she died a year before the premiere.

Personal life

Maria Vinogradova met her husband, actor Sergei Golovanov, while working in Potsdam. Before this, both artists had already had unsuccessful attempts family life, so before the wedding they lived for several years without painting. In 1957, Maria and Sergei got married, and in 1963, the actors had a daughter, Olga.

The girl became a late child: Maria was 41 years old, she spent the entire pregnancy in storage, Sergei was 54. According to the artists’ daughter, her father was often mistaken for her grandfather, which greatly upset little Olya. The child was born long-awaited and loved; there were good relationship, although Sergei had problems with alcohol.

An important role in personal life Maria Sergeevna allocated a house near the Airport metro station, where she lived with her family. The house was considered an “actor’s house”; many stars lived there Soviet theater and cinema. Established between neighbors good relations, other people's troubles were experienced very acutely.

When they, who lived in the same house, had an accident, Vinogradova, already middle-aged and not very healthy, went to see her neighbor in the hospital every day.

Olga Golovanova also linked her fate with acting skills, and today her voice can be heard behind the scenes of many films and cartoons.

Death
