Project goal:

Relevance:

The tales of Pavel Petrovich are a treasure of Russian literature. It is rare to find Bazhov's books in the home library. But the first thing that catches your eye when reading is unusual language skaz and its difference from modern vocabulary.

Pavel Petrovich Bazhov, with his tales, revealed to the world the Ural life, legends and language of the people. In his tales, the life and work of Ural craftsmen: lapidaries, stone cutters, prospectors are intertwined with fictional, fantastic heroes: Mistress of the Copper Mountain, Blue Snake. Readers are presented with the inexhaustible riches of the Ural land: the unique, peculiar beauty of the region with its forested emerald-malachite mountains, deep and transparent lakes like rock crystal, ruby ​​rowan berries and hardworking people, beautiful as gemstones.

For the writer’s anniversary, we decided to study the features of the language of his tales, determine the differences between fairy tales and tales, and help children understand and love Ural tales, introduce them to the culture and life of the peoples of the Urals.

The “Literature of the Urals” course is designed to introduce us to poets, writers, storytellers of the Ural land, who help to reveal the secrets of our region, look at our surroundings with different eyes, join the culture of our region, and feel its greatness.

The native Ural is famous not only for its amazing nature, rich storehouses, rare ores and semi-precious stones, but the main wealth of the Ural land is the people who glorified their native land with their work and high results of their activities. Such a person, the pride of the Ural land, is P.P. Bazhov (in the center of the board there is a portrait of P.P. Bazhov with the question “Who are you, Pavel Petrovich Bazhov?”). To implement the literary project “Who are you, Pavel Petrovich Bazhov?” you were offered work in creative groups:

Pavel Petrovich's daughters (Olga, Elena and Ariadne) could not remember a case of their father's severity.

But this did not mean at all that Pavel Petrovich condoned the children and spoiled them. They grew up in a regime labor responsibilities, and until recent years, already married, daughters did not need their father to repeat his request twice. This was the way of life of the indigenous working-class Ural family.

In the early forties, the eldest grandson, Vova, grew up and was raised by the Bazhovs. His father then went missing at the front. Mother Olga Pavlovna worked from morning to night at a military plant. Vova was in the care of his grandparents. Vova grew up as a stubborn, mischievous boy. For him, as they said in the family, “you need eyes and eyes.”

One day, Vova - apparently for experimental purposes - decided to try how a cat would behave in the chimney of a burning samovar. And he put her down there upside down. A cat with a singed mustache and a burnt muzzle darted madly at the closet and “fluttered” heartbreakingly, as if complaining to Pavel Petrovich and those around her. It would seem that the guy needed to be given a memorable beating... But it didn’t happen... Although this act of his grandson unbalanced Pavel Petrovich so much that he resorted to the worst thing that can be expected from him - silence.

Here it must be said that Pavel Petrovich dearly loved animals. And this increased Vova’s guilt...

A “wall newspaper” appeared in the Bazhovs’ house, hanging from the ceiling. It was a sheet of paper on which the crime was briefly outlined in large letters and the name of the culprit was named.

At first, no importance was attached to such a superhuman measure of influence. And in particular, Vova said:

Just think, grandfather posted a newspaper... Who will read it...

But it soon turned out that everyone who came had read this newspaper. He read and emphatically loudly abbreviated what he had done: “Can such a good guy really come to this!” And the reasoning began for about twenty minutes. And Vovka was hiding behind the closet... He was very ashamed...

Vova openly and sincerely repented. The boy punished himself so much that on the seventh day of hanging the newspaper was removed and solemnly burned in the chimney of the same samovar.

And the cat with a singed muzzle walked for a long time as a terrible reproach to Vova, who has since become unrecognizably better.

The courtyard and vegetable garden in old factory settlements seem to continue the dwelling of the indigenous Ural life. It is difficult to imagine a home of a native worker without a barn with a hay loft, without premises for pets. In this sense, the courtyard and garden of Pavel Petrovich’s house are no different from all other Ural courtyards. The Bazhovs had their own cow in the past. She could not help but be with her large family. Store-bought eggs were cheaper than chicken feed and care. But how can you live when the rooster doesn’t crow, when the chicken cage in the kitchen is empty in winter.

There was an everyday love for the ridge of many-year-old “butun”, tenacious horseradish, a joy in planting beans, peas, cabbage, turnips, radishes. The most precious time of year for Bazhov is spring. He rejoiced at her approach, like a youth, like a boy.

Doesn't go away from memory phone call to the hotel. Pavel Petrovich invites you to his place: - Come today, both of you to hell. Valyanushka dug it up in the first thawed patch near the fence.

“The first horseradish” is Bazhov’s first spring breakfast. There will be cat-like tears there, but he is the hero of the table, he is the messenger of the awakening earth.

Bazhov was and never ceased to be a poet in the garden beds. So the very busy Pavel Petrovich wrote to Evgeniy Andreevich Permyak about the garden on six neat pages, a letter of instruction on gardening matters. This letter reflects one of the facets of the multi-colored sparkling Pavel Petrovich.

Here is a short excerpt from this letter: “Of garden work, most of all I like to dig the ground. I dig in the spring, I dig in the fall. Sometimes I even dig into a pass, when the first layer is at the bottom and the second at the top. It just gives me pleasure: you work, sweat in the sun, but I haven’t thought about whether this is always necessary….

From my landing experience. Potatoes seem to be the simplest, but even here there is a lot of uncertainty. The issue of planting density has not yet been resolved in the literature. Recently, people have begun to argue that hilling is not always necessary. I don't know anything here. The winter of 1941/42 was cold even for the Urals. Cold and not exactly hungry, but still very filling. It was a difficult time. And I wanted to celebrate the Christmas tree. Pavel Petrovich has a grandson and Evgeniy Permyak has two daughters. And the last daughter of the Bazhovs, Ridochka, was not averse to lighting the Christmas tree.

They decided to build a Christmas tree in the Bazhov house, and there they would meet New Year. There weren't a lot of Christmas tree decorations. But it was possible to collect enough different typographic paper scraps and pictures.

The beginning of the celebration consisted of getting the Christmas tree. We decided to get the Christmas tree, on the advice of Valentina Alexandrovna, in a direct and short way - in the forest.

Olga, eldest daughter Bazhov, and Evgeny Permyak set off along the old Uktus road. It was so cold that it was difficult to breathe. And the tree was cut down. They dragged us. They dragged me in!

At the Bazhovs’ house there are “hurrays,” and applause, and squeals, and kisses. A flurry of delight and, as never before in winter, warmth.

For the sake of the New Year, Pavel Petrovich heated the stove with his own hands, “one thousand two hundred and fifteen percent,” as he reported, when he returned with the Christmas tree.

Pavel Petrovich laughed until he coughed, until he cried, demanding an encore dance numbers. The children, inspired by their success, now not only danced, but also sang the unimaginable.

We set ourselves the task of conducting search work in our city and region in order to determine the places where Pavel Petrovich Bazhov visited in our city, as well as reviews from old-timers about his activities as a deputy.

For a visual representation of the work done, we designed an information folding bed, where we placed photographs of P.P. Bazhov with Krasnoufimsk residents, the route of P.P.’s deputy activities. Bazhov in the Krasnoufimsky district (Figure 1.), a copy of the deputy card of P.P. Bazhov (Figure 2.), photographs of buildings in the city of Krasnoufimsk, where meetings with P.P. were organized. Pavel Petrovich could not work poorly. All his life he conscientiously carried out all the tasks entrusted to him, and when he became a deputy, the chosen one of the people, when thousands of people turned to him, he, of course, tried to do everything he could for everyone. And people came to him from Polevsky, Artinsky, Sazhinsky, Manchazhsky districts, from Revda and Bisert, from many cities and villages. Deputy Bazhov was approached on the issue land plots, water, electricity, regarding hospitals, schools, pensions, apartments - it’s simply too much to list. And Pavel Petrovich patiently and persistently sorted out every letter, every complaint.

“You know, I work at night. I sit for a long time and wake up late. Today I was not allowed to sleep. Some uncle came and modestly declared: “I’ll wait.” And I waited for a while. I'm leaving. A man of enormous stature, he keeps himself very quietly, even as if with apprehension: he was disturbed, they say. It turned out that he was a loader at a factory, a guardsman, three wounds, an order, medals. The story is like this. He himself is from Kursk. The family evacuated “somewhere.” He fought until the last day. Wounded for the third time in Berlin on the eve of surrender. Recovered. I went to the Urals to look for my family. I found a cousin in Revda. I stayed with him. Still his own person. So as not to sit idle, he became a loader, and a week later he found out that his family was in Novosibirsk. He has been fighting for three months now to either free himself or transport his family, but to no avail.

So tell me, is it possible to refuse such a person.”

Pavel Petrovich put care for children first: he tried to arrange all matters related to schools, kindergartens, and Pioneer Houses first. Pavel Petrovich delved into the children's needs even when they seemed insignificant to others.

One day a girl, Rita, wrote to Pavel Petrovich about her grief. Her mother died. Three children and an old grandmother were left in her arms. All this is best described in a letter from Rita herself:

“Our dear Pavel Petrovich!

I turn to you for help, I ask for your assistance - our dad went to the front in 1941 and was wounded in both legs and captured. After the end of the war he did not return. We live in the city of Polevsky. We are a family of five. I am 13 years old, Klara is 8 years old, Edik is 6 years old, Stasik is 5 years old and my grandmother is 67 years old. Our mother died in 1946 from tuberculosis. I studied in the fifth grade, left school in 1946, and helped my grandmother take care of her sick mother. During the war we received benefits, but now we don’t. Our situation is very difficult.

Group 3: “P.P. Bazhov-journalist”

We set ourselves the task of tracing which newspapers P.P. Bazhov worked for, what topics interested him as a journalist, how he felt about his activities in the newspaper, what correspondents said about him. They prepared their material in the form of a newspaper with photographs and information about P.P. Bazhov as a journalist.

After the revolution, in 1917, Pavel Petrovich Bazhov was appointed editor of the newspaper “News of the Kamyshlovsky Council of Workers”. But times are turbulent, there are constant battles with the White Guards, and in 1918 Bazhov voluntarily joins the Red Army, a regiment nicknamed “Red Eagles.” In his diary entries, Bazhov later recalled: “One day a shell hit right under the wall of the station building, opposite the window of the room where newspapers were distributed for the front. The shell did not kill or wound anyone, and the soldiers began to laugh: “Look, he came for the newspapers!” Newspapers, indeed, were needed not only by the Red Army soldiers, but even by the White Guards. Everyone wanted to read a newspaper that talked about important matters and events about front-line life. And the commander of the “Red Eagles” organized a mini-printing house, where the newspaper was born “The Trench Truth”, and Bazhov P.P. became its editor. He talked about it this way: “The newspaper was published on the front line. I was the editor, the secretary of the newspaper, and the publisher – all rolled into one. The newspaper and the printing house traveled in two carriages. She went out irregularly. We published 50-70 issues on the Ural Front. The newspaper’s employees were Red Army soldiers.” Pavel Petrovich, publishing a newspaper, wrote essays, stories, feuilletons. The pen became a fighter's weapon for him.

Printing becomes a way of life for Bazhov, and journalistic work becomes his profession. Working day and night, Bazhov did not have a minute of free time. He became weak and fell ill with malaria, but no matter how hard Pavel Petrovich fought against malaria, no matter how much he resisted, the disease still finally knocked him off his feet. The doctors said that we need to immediately change the climate; for such a disease, this is the surest remedy. Pavel Petrovich, completely weak from malaria, also contracted typhus, and then pneumonia. He became so ill that doctors had no hope of curing him. The serious illness lasted for six months, but there was a doctor, the best of all doctors, who cured Pavel Petrovich. Who is this doctor? Of course, this is our native Urals, with its forests, lakes, resinous healing air. The saying is right: houses and walls help. Pavel Petrovich spent whole days in the forest, listened to the sound of pine trees, inhaled the smell of resin and earth, communicated with the forest as if it were true friend. And this friend helped him, gave him back his strength. Soon Pavel Petrovich grew stronger, recovered and gladly agreed to become editor of Kamyshlovskaya newspapers “Red Path”.

A year later, Pavel Petrovich was called to Yekaterinburg and offered to work in the regional "Peasant newspaper". He was assigned to manage the department of peasant letters. There was too much work to do. On some days up to 200-225 letters arrived. Bazhov was the leader in working with letters. He distributed them into departments, made notes on letters, wrote down important questions and complaints. The newspaperman's attentive gaze did not hide the shortcomings: drunkenness, hooliganism, superstition, bureaucracy, illiteracy, sabotage of the people, etc. Thousands of peasant letters passed through the hands of Pavel Petrovich Bazhov, but he also helped rural correspondents who wrote from the farthest corners of the region. These rural correspondents were illiterate, wrote notes with errors, but they did a very necessary and important job, because they wrote about all sorts of problems in the village, about its problems, exposed the saboteurs of the people, who were afraid of revealing their criminal affairs, just as newspapers were afraid of fire and therefore They even sometimes brutally dealt with rural correspondents. Bazhov helped the village correspondents, taught them, supported them, so in such turbulent times he spent months on business trips, in distant villages and on rural farms.

Group 4 – “P.P. Bazhov – a collector of priceless Ural words and a talented storyteller.”

Our school is located in the area of ​​the Krasnoufimsk breeding station, which is engaged in breeding new highly effective varieties of wheat, barley, peas, clover, etc. Once P.P. Bazhov visited a breeding station and after some time, in 1947, the tale “The Amethyst Case” appeared, which in an interesting way tells about the development of a new variety of clover, “Krasnoufimsky Violet”. We bring to your attention a dramatization of the tale “The Amethyst Case” (see Appendix 3).

Bazhov P.P. – collector of priceless Ural words

There is hardly a corner in the Middle Urals that Pavel Petrovich Bazhov, a tireless miner of oral speech gold, a seeker of native legends, a collector of priceless Ural words and expressions, would not know about. He visited the workshops, spent the night in the mines, met experienced people, talked with old people, listened to the guys. He delved into everything, noted and wrote down rare words, and then used them in his tales, so the tales are interesting and unique. So in our tale “The Amethyst Case” we found little words - nuggets, the content of which was revealed in the drawings.

Pavel was born on January 15 (27), 1879 near Yekaterinburg in a working-class family. The childhood years in Bazhov's biography passed in small town– Polevsky Sverdlovsk region. He studied at a factory school, where he was one of best students class. After graduating from theological school in Yekaterinburg, he entered the Perm Theological Seminary. After completing his studies in 1899, he began working as a teacher of the Russian language.

It is worth briefly noting that Pavel Bazhov’s wife was his student Valentina Ivanitskaya. In their marriage they had four children.

The beginning of a creative journey

First writing activity Pavel Petrovich Bazhov fell in years Civil War. It was then that he began working as a journalist, and later became interested in the stories of the Urals. However more biography Pavla Bazhova is known as a folklorist.

The first book with Ural essays entitled “The Ural Were” was published in 1924. And the first tale of Pavel Petrovich Bazhov was published in 1936 (“The Azov Girl”). Basically, all the tales retold and recorded by the writer were folklore.

The writer's main work

The publication of Bazhov’s book “The Malachite Box” (1939) largely determined the writer’s fate. This book brought the writer world fame. Bazhov’s talent was most clearly demonstrated in the tales of this book, which he constantly updated. “The Malachite Box” is a collection folklore stories for children and adults about life and everyday life in the Urals, about the beauty of the nature of the Ural land.

The Malachite Box contains a lot mythological characters, for example: Mistress of the Copper Mountain, Great Snake, Danila the Master, Grandma Sinyushka, Ognevushka the Jumper and others.

In 1943, thanks to this book, he received Stalin Prize. And in 1944 he was awarded the Order of Lenin for his fruitful work.

Pavel Bazhov created many works, on the basis of which ballets, operas, plays, films and cartoons were made.

Death and legacy

The writer's life was cut short on December 3, 1950. The writer was buried in Sverdlovsk at the Ivanovo cemetery.

IN hometown writer, a museum is opened in the house where he lived. The writer's name is given to a folk festival in Chelyabinsk region, annual bonus, awarded in Yekaterinburg. Commemorative monuments were erected to Pavel Bazhov in Sverdlovsk, Polevsky and other cities. Streets in many cities of the former USSR are also named after the writer.
