Choi did not serve in the army. Magazine for the intellectual elite of society

Well, do not break, agree! All our friends will be there, - a friend persuaded the girl. “Moreover, what an event! Two birthdays at once! Let's play rock 'n' roll!

On March 5, 1982, she, Maryana Rodovanskaya, was supposed to turn 23 years old. She worked in the Leningrad Circus as the head of the production departments. Earned 150 rubles. a month and was waiting for a promotion. She had already divorced and was going to marry a second time. She said that youth parties are a thing of the past, and now she is already a "respectable lady." But the guy was very insistent. Ultimately, she agreed. At the party Maryana met old acquaintances. We drank, it became fun. Soon 19-year-old rock musician Viktor Tsoi joined the company.

Maryana Tsoi recalled: “Vitya was very painfully aware that he was younger than me, and that I had some kind of income, and that I had some monumental costumes in which I could even go to receptions. And he sewed his own pants”

I can’t say that I fell in love with him at first sight, but something in Vitka’s appearance immediately hooked me, ”Maryana recalled. - Walking from the party, I wrote my phone number on some piece of paper with lipstick, because I could not find a pen.

The next day, Victor called and they started dating. A week later, he invited me to visit friends, promised to sing a few of his songs. Maryana was frightened: in those days, almost all of her friends were fond of music, but the girl was sick of the work of young rockers. But she liked the first three songs of Victor. Tsoi told Maryana that he had recently organized a rock group "Garin and the Hyperboloids" with friends.

I believed in his talent right away,” she said. - I realized that you can earn money on it.

Assumed the responsibility of the group administrator. I got the musicians a concert wardrobe from decommissioned circus costumes. But music did not bring big profits - Soviet rockers were constantly under the supervision of the KGB, on big stage they were not allowed. I had to earn money at home concerts - apartment houses, which took place in Moscow and Leningrad communal apartments. Tsoi's acquaintances bought port wine or dry wine and threw off 3 rubles. For the evening the musician received 15 rubles. When it was possible to collect more people, the fee increased to 50 rubles.

In May, the musicians successfully made their debut on the stage of the Leningrad Rock Club, recorded their first album. Then Tsoi began to think about a new name for his team - "Garin and the Hyperboloids" seemed to him a bit long. In the end, the rock group "Kino" appeared.

On July 25, 1982, Kino performed for the first time at the apartment house - with director Alexander Lipnitsky on Karetny Ryad in Moscow. Victor then sang his famous songs"Eighth Grader" and "Aluminum Cucumbers".

The spectators were amazed. One of them, musical critic Artemy Troitsky, later said:

For the younger generation of our country, Choi means more than some political leaders, healers and writers. Because Choi never lied.

Carried away by rock music, Victor did not want to get a permanent job for a long time. But, so that he would not be accused of parasitism, he still went to work - in a stoker. He hid from the army for some time in a mental hospital. His wife wrote to him: "My dear! I cannot sleep until your heavy hand rests on me." Tsoi kept her note for a long time and said that she helped him survive. Tsoi dedicated the songs "Rain for us", "When your girlfriend is sick ..." to Maryana Tsoi.

We were as poor as church mice,” Maryana recalled. - We rented a room in a communal apartment, ate what God would send. Even a decent wedding could not play. Vitya was given a brown velveteen suit. And I instead wedding dress She wore a white jacket and a striped skirt.

The young people invited only relatives and a few close friends to register.

The real fun began the next day. Mariana said. — in our one-room apartment about a hundred friends crowded on Blucher Street.

A year later, the couple had a son, Alexander. The artist dedicated the song "Baby" to him.

With Muscovite Natalya Razlogova, Victor has lived for the last two years. “There were only two women in Victor’s life - me and Natasha,” said Maryana Tsoi. “But I didn’t share it with anyone. I fell in love and went to Moscow, left. too. The child never twisted against the father "

At the end of December 1986, director Sergei Solovyov invited Tsoi to Moscow to star in the film Assa. After the release of the movie on the screens and the success of the album "Blood Type", which appeared in 1988, the USSR was covered by a wave of "film mania". Young fans cut their hair "under Tsoi", play the guitar and sing his songs. Musicians collect large stadiums around the country, go on tour to America and Japan.

On the set of the film "Assa" Victor met film critic and translator Natalya Razlogova. When he came home, he said to his wife:

You know I fell in love.

Fine. Then pack your bags.

They parted quietly, without scandals. They decided not to get divorced officially and continued to communicate.

We have a son, so we will still remain a family, - said Victor. - When we are gone, let's make a wish to be buried nearby, like relatives.

Tsoi and Razlogova settled in Moscow. In 1989, he introduced his wife to his mistress. Made a feast in a restaurant.

He did not understand how much I was in pain at that moment. The strange thing is that this lady and I are completely different. I could not even imagine that Vitya might like such a girl. As much as I did not control myself, so she controlled herself. I am a powder keg. She is an absolute rock.

IN last time they saw each other in the summer of 1990. Victor was going to rest in the Baltics. Saying goodbye to Mariana, he promised that he would call. And on August 15, she was informed that Viktor Tsoi had died in a car accident.

1962 June 21- Viktor Tsoi was born in Leningrad in the family of an engineer. At school he plays in the group "Chamber No. 6". After the eighth grade, he enters the art school. Serov. A year later, he was expelled for poor progress, went to work at the factory. In 1979, he studies as a wood carver at a vocational school. For some time he worked in the restoration workshop of the Catherine Palace in the city of Pushkin near Leningrad.

1984 February 4- marries Mariana Rodovanskaya. On August 5 next year, son Alexander is born. Now he is the director of a private company. Produces posters for musical groups. In his youth, he was fond of rock music for a short time, but he did not imitate his father.

1984-1989 - the albums of Tsoi's group "Kino" are released - "45", "46", "Head of Kamchatka", "This is not love", "Night", "Blood type", " Last Hero and "A Star Called the Sun".

1988 - According to the results of a survey of film critics by the magazine "Soviet Screen" for the role of Moreau in Rashid Mugmanov's film "The Needle", Viktor Tsoi was recognized as the best actor of the year.

1990 June 24- the last time he takes the stage at the Grand Sports Arena in Luzhniki. On August 15, 1990, he dies in a car accident near Riga. He was buried in Leningrad, now St. Petersburg, at the Bogoslovsky cemetery. Maryana Tsoi survived her husband by 15 years. Organized commemorative concerts, wrote a book. In recent years, she lived in a civil marriage with St. Petersburg rock musician Alexander Aksenov. She fought cancer for six years, underwent a complex operation. She died of illness in 2005. They buried her next to Viktor Tsoi.

Natalia Razlogova, with whom the musician lived for the last two years, after the death of Tsoi, married journalist Yevgeny Dodolev, gave birth to two children. Lives in the USA.

Viktor Tsoi was born in Leningrad, in Kupchino, on June 21, 1962, he was only child in the family of physical education teacher Valentina Vasilievna Tsoi and engineer Robert Maksimovich Tsoi. In 1969, Victor went to the school where his mother worked. In total, during his studies until the eighth grade, he changed three schools with his mother.

Victor was half Russian: his mother was Russian, a native Leningrader, her husband was Korean, originally from Kazakhstan. Victor's early childhood showed an aptitude for drawing. In 1974-1977 he attended secondary art school, where the musical group "Chamber No.6" headed by Maxim Pashkov arose.

After eight classes of school, in 1977, Victor wanted to become an artist and entered the art school. V. Serov (now named after Nicholas Roerich) to the design department, but already in 1978 he was expelled from the school "for poor progress." Tsoi went to work as a stamper at a factory and studied at an evening school, and in 1979 he entered SGPTU-61 as a woodcarver. But due to poor academic performance, he was not even given a diploma, but only a certificate of graduation from the school.

As a teenager, in his cramped Leningrad apartment, Tsoi re-read "a carload of romantic books." Through underground channels, he obtained "scarce" and forbidden albums and records " The Beatles", "Genesis", Iggy Pop, "Rolling Stones", punk rock, new wave. At the same time, Tsoi began to write his first poems and compose music for them. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, close communication began between Viktor Tsoi, who played bass guitar in the group "Chamber No.6" and Alexei Rybin from the amateur group "Pilgrim". Both of them often came to visit (group "Zoo") and Andrei Panov (Pig), in whose apartment rehearsed the punk group "Automatic Satisfiers". Tsoi's first apartment concerts took place there. Having gained some fame, Viktor Tsoi and Alexei Rybin, as part of the "Automatic Satisfiers", traveled to Moscow and played punk rock at Artemy Troitsky's apartment houses. During one of these trips of Viktor Tsoi, singing to the guitar with the company in the vestibule of the train, was noticed by Boris Grebenshchikov, then known, perhaps, only in the Leningrad rock underground Grebenshchikov much later recalled that then it seemed to him as if he saw a Miracle and experienced a feeling similar to joy the discoverer who found a priceless treasure. He offered Victor all kinds of help and support, not only from his side, but also from Andrei Tropillo and others. In Leningrad, Tsoi met unknown then for " Soviet people", but people known to the police and the KGB - Kuryokhin, Mike Naumenko, B. G., Timur Novikov, Sergei Bugaev, nicknamed Africa, Konstantin Kinchev, Alexander Bashlachev.

You walk down the street alone
You go to one of your friends.
You visit for no reason
And ask for fresh news.

There's someone who's having a tough argument,
And someone just sleeps for a long time,
And you're sitting next to someone
And drink wine with someone.

Tsoi's friends were different in their "life views", and even musical tastes. Here were the first Soviet punks, with roughly cropped "hairs", in "bananas" and pins, and "new wavers", lovers of Western new wave music, with aesthetic quirks and mannerisms in communication, and long-haired hippies with slang and the ideology of Love & Peace , there were also hard rock fans, on whom the name "Black Sabbath" had a magical effect. Some of his friends will come out of the underground and become famous ... To all of them, famous and unknown, punks and beatniks - Tsoi dedicated one of his best songs"My Friends", which can still be heard performed by modern neo-hippies, anarchists and punks:

My friends always march through life
And stops only at beer stalls...

Despite the fact that Viktor Tsoi was by nature a silent man, sometimes even shy, immersed in his inner world, nevertheless, eastern roots made themselves felt - he had a lot of friends, especially among musicians. Probably, they were attracted by Victor's honesty, sincerity, inner natural romance, and then his musical and poetic gift. Time passed not only drinking port wine, Streletskaya, Moskovskaya and heated wines, not only visiting the legendary Saigon cafe, but also simply exchanging information and records, singing our own and other people's songs, reading Western music magazines, listening to radio stations banned in the USSR, where incomprehensible but expressive words and names often flashed - punk, fuzz, "Sex Pistols", "Fender", drive.

It is interesting that Tsoi, before Kino, played in groups that in no way resemble the Kino group that everyone knows. Both "Chamber No.6" and "Automatic Satisfiers", where Tsoi took part, preached the ideas of punk, which was expressed in forms that are shocking even for today. A few punks were afraid of the rock party that had seen a lot in those days - punks painted their faces with lipstick, wore non-standard clothes, riding breeches, shorts in winter and sheepskin coats in summer, hung around with chains, razors and pins, painted their hair. Tsoi mainly played the bass guitar and kept aloof. By the way, the song "Eighth Grader" was written during the time of Tsoi's punk beat and "is based on real facts". 18-year-old Tsoi met an 8th grade student and for a long time I walked with her along the evening streets of Leningrad, but at 10 exactly my mother was waiting for her home, of course ... She loved her dolls and Balloons... The song was written, according to Victor's friends, in one breath, in 20 minutes. Viktor Tsoi played together with Mike Naumenko. After one "kvartirnik", which took place in Kyiv, they were detained by the police. Mike and Viktor will give an impromptu concert "at the request of the police officers" at the Kiev District Department of Internal Affairs, and only a day later they will be released to Leningrad.

In the summer of 1981, Viktor Tsoi and two of his friends - Alexei Rybin and Oleg Valinsky went to rest in the Crimea. And how real informals seized guitars, wine, but did not take tickets and hitchhiked to the Crimean coast. There they lived in a tent, sunbathed from morning to evening, drank wine and played songs with a guitar. One evening, by the fire, a trinity of informals started a conversation about music, and decided to create new group, Oleg and Alexey unanimously elected Victor as leader and vocalist. The group was called snobbishly and romantically "Garin and the Hyperboloids". Victor is Garin, and Alexey and Oleg have become Hyperboloids respectively. The group "Garin and Hyperboloids" already in the fall of 1981 joined the Leningrad Rock Club, but did not live long. In the spring of 1982, Oleg Valinsky was drafted into the army and sent to serve in distant Cuba. Tsoi and Rybin decided to rename the group into something shorter, but expressive. They went through a lot of nouns, connected to the difficult problem of choice and the Aquarium group, which helped Tsoi and Rybin. Names were proposed - "Wall", "Pioneers", "Asphalt" and even "Cosmonauts", but did not come to a consensus. But then one evening, Tsoi and Rybin, walking around Leningrad, and even in the pouring rain, saw the silhouette of a house, on the wall of which the red word KINO flickered with electric rays. Such an extraordinary spectacle impressed both romantics so much that they immediately renamed the Kino group.

At the same time, the group began recording their first album. Under the direction of Boris Grebenshchikov, the Kino group recorded at Andrei Tropillo's studio in the House Young Technician, all the musicians of "Aquarium" took part in the recording. Soon "Kino" were already performing with their first electric concert at the rock club festival, the whole performance went to the drum machine, and to the song "Once upon a time you were a beatnik" BG, Mike and Panker jumped out from behind the curtains onto the stage with guitars .

By the summer of 1982, the album was completely completed, its duration was 45 minutes, hence the name. But later, the song "I am Asphalt" was removed from the final version, which can be found in the reissue of "45", where it is included as a bonus track. The recording received some distribution throughout the country, they started talking about the group, apartment concerts began in Moscow and Leningrad. In the fall, Kino recorded several songs in Kuskov's studio, including "Spring" and "The Last Hero", which were included in the collection "Unknown Songs of Viktor Tsoi" (four editions in total). Then the recording was rejected and did not receive distribution, since Tsoi took the tape to himself.

On February 19, 1983, a joint electric concert "Kino" and "Aquarium" was held, the musicians performed with dark makeup and in suits with rhinestones. At the same time, they performed "Electric Train", "Trolleybus" and "Aluminum Cucumbers". Yuri Kasparyan and Gustav were invited to the main team. Guryanov. After recording their debut album, Tsoi and Rybin will survive successful and unsuccessful concerts, they will hide from the KGB after one of the “kvartirniks”, run away from the police after the concert of the Blitz group, when several dozen people will be beaten and arrested, just because they came to listen Beatles styling. Then, in the spring of 1983, the paths of Tsoi and Rybin part ways, guitarist Yuri Kasparyan, bassist Igor Tikhomirov and drummer Gustav Guryanov will join the group. Everyone will recognize the Kino group, films will be made about it, books will be written, albums will be recorded that are still being listened to, not only by the generation of the 1980s, but also by modern teenagers. Because fresh inscriptions on the walls and in the passages that "Viktor Tsoi is alive" are hardly done by 40-year-old moviegoers.

The summer of 1983 was spent on joint rehearsals in the new line-up. As a result of this, Viktor Tsoi and Yuri Kasparyan recorded the album "46", which was originally conceived as a demo recording of "The Head of Kamchatka". Singer and composer Aleksey Vishnya "thrown off" the recording to several friends on tape. So "46" was widely distributed and was perceived as a full-fledged album.

In the autumn of 1983, evading military service, Viktor Tsoi went to the psychiatric hospital on Pryazhka for examination, where he spent a month and a half. Choi avoided military service because, being a creatively independent and mentally free person, having heard enough of John Lennon, "Doors", " Pink Floyd"by reading the magazine" Rolling Stones ", romantic literature and the classics, hanging out among the Leningrad beatniks, hippies and punks - he did not imagine that he could march, shoot at something, or at someone, follow someone's orders. Moreover, he believed, first of all, in the power of rock music and mother-anarchy, he preferred not to shoot from a machine gun, but to play the electric guitar, wear not a helmet and body armor, but jeans and leather jacket, decorated with studs and safety pins. Tsoi avoided army draft with the help of various vocational schools, where he hid until the age of 21. And then he was finally figured out by the military enlistment office and Viktor Tsoi, on the advice of his friends, goes straight to ... a psychiatric hospital. There he spends instead of two weeks - six. After staying in the clinic, he really almost "went crazy" because of the state methods of treating mental anomalies and the efforts of one doctor who did not like the "patient Choi" for his thoughtfulness and imperturbable silence. Having been discharged from the "psychiatric hospital", Tsoi has a certificate from this institution, which guarantees him exemption from conscription into the armed forces of the USSR, as a legitimate "psycho", who army service contraindicated.

A few years later, Tsoi will write the song "Anthill", where there are lines "and I don't know what percentage of crazy people are on given hour... But if you believe the eyes and ears several times more. "Surely these cheerful words inspired Tsoi with the memory of his unhappy stay in psychiatric hospital No. 2 of the city of Leningrad. After being discharged from the clinic and receiving a "white ticket", he writes the song "Tranquilizer":

I start my way to the tram stop
I close my umbrella, I'm an experimenter
Here comes the tram, it thunders away,
I'm heading home, I'm smiling...

In the spring of 1984, the Kino group performed at the 2nd rock club festival and became the laureate of the rock festival, and the song "I declare my house a nuclear-free zone", which opened the festival, was recognized as the best anti-war song of the festival. In the summer of 1984 in the studio "Antrop" Andrei Tropillo began to write "Head of Kamchatka", to the recording of which, in addition to Victor, BG and Sergey Kuryokhin had a hand in it.

Back in 1982, after the legendary eighth grader, Tsoi met an artist. She was older than Victor, which is why at first Choi was worried and complexed, especially, unlike Marianne, Victor received a penny. Together with Marianna Tsoi, he will live for several years. They will walk along the streets of Leningrad in winter and summer, huddle in a communal apartment with Mike Naumenko, go with the Grebenshchikov family - Boris and Lyudmila to the beach, where they will swim naked, sing, drink and sing again .... Together, and again "hitchhiking" on the train, they will get to the sunny Crimea. On the train, two "hares" from the Leningrad underground will be found by conductors. But fortunately for Victor and Marianne, they were student guides who heard semi-underground recordings of Kino. Until the Crimea, Tsoi will sing his songs to passengers and conductors. On the Black Sea coast, Tsoi will not be able to talk because of his voice torn off on the train ...

I see the waves wash away the footprints in the sand
I hear the wind sing its strange song
I hear the strings of the trees play it
Music of the waves, music of the wind.
Choi wrote this song just about this time, when they splashed in the sea all day long, sunbathed under the generous Crimean sun, sometimes fell asleep right on the beach. Money quickly came to an end, but for the young and informal, this is not a problem at all. They caught fish, roasted it on a fire, fished out bottles and handed it in to get at least some pennies. Returning to Leningrad, they got married, the entire "beau monde" of the Leningrad underground came to the wedding - Grebenshchikov, Naumenko, Titov, Kasparyan, Guryanov .... On July 26, 1985, Victor and Marianna had a son, Sasha.

Sasha loves books about heroes and about revenge,
Sasha wants to be a hero, but that's what he is...

When Marianna became seriously ill, Tsoi took care of his son alone, washed diapers, ran to work, and played the guitar at night: "Everything is wrong and everything is wrong when your girlfriend is sick."

In the spring of 1985, at the 3rd festival of the Kino rock club, they earned another title of laureate, and settled in A. Tropillo's studio to write "Night", the recording process was delayed due to the desire to create new music with new playing techniques. The album did not work out in any way, Victor left "Night" unfinished and in the studio of Lyosha Cherry started recording the album "This is not love", which turned out in just over a week. By the fall, "This is not love" was mixed and successfully dispersed throughout the country, and in January 1986 "Night" was released, among the songs of which were the famous "Mama Anarchy" and "Saw the Night" ("remake" songs Cure "Boys Don" t Cry"). In parallel with the release of the disc, the popularity of Viktor Tsoi is growing, and in February at the 4th festival of the rock club "Kino" he receives a diploma for the best texts.

In the summer, all members of the group leave for Kiev to shoot the film "The End of Holidays" (1986), and a little later they give a joint concert with "Aquarium" and "Alisa" at the MIIT Palace of Culture in Moscow, with the same groups "Red Wave" comes out in the USA.

In order not to be considered a "parasite" and "ideological saboteur", as well as to have at least some money, Viktor Tsoi changed many works that were in no way related to the aesthetic sphere. Performances in the Leningrad rock club did not bring money, the so-called "apartment concerts" also did not pull on the role of earnings, even invitations to Moscow, Kiev, Sverdlovsk, as a rule, were limited to a "fee" that covered only the price of tickets. Therefore, Tsoi had to work both as a lifeguard on the beach and as a cleaner in public bath, after which, due to high temperatures his heart was "jumping" and as a woodcarver, and even as a restorer of stucco ceilings in ancient palaces. Sometimes Viktor Tsoi put down his guitar, recalled his childhood dream of becoming an artist, took up a brush and painted in gouache portraits of Western rock musicians and film actors. Portraits either decorated the apartments of friends, or were sold for 5 rubles at the nearest market, and the money went to wine or was saved for the purchase. musical instruments. Portraits sold out quickly, Tsoi painted with talent.

After a series of various jobs, Choi decides in the fall of 1986 to go to the boiler room as a stoker. For the Leningrad rockers, this was a traditional place, because. in the boiler room they were freed from the constant attacks of the administration about clothes, hairstyles, lifestyle. In the work of the "Kino" group there is a song about Kamchatka, cheerful and psychedelic, but Tsoev's "Kamchatka" is not geographical feature on the map of the USSR, but one of the boiler houses in Leningrad, which became famous not for the quality of the district heating, but for the quantity creative people who worked here as stokers and ash workers, the most famous of which is Viktor Tsoi. He glorified this boiler room, its atmosphere and inhabitants. In addition to working as a stoker, Tsoi wrote his songs here, arranged concerts with friends, sang along with Alexander Bashlachev. Today "Kamchatka" (Blokhina street, 15) has become a place of pilgrimage for fans of rock, the Kino group and Viktor Tsoi.

This strange place- "Kamchatka",
This sweet word is "Kamchatka"...

In Leningrad, Tsoi met a young director Rashid Nugmanov, who came from Alma-Ata and studied in Moscow, at VGIK. It was in "Kamchatka" that Nugmanov organized the filming of the short film "Ya-xha" with the participation of Tsoi and Leningrad rockers, and the filming of the film "Rock" by Alexei Uchitel also took place there - also with the participation of Tsoi. Autumn and winter passed in Yalta on the set of the film "Assa" by Sergei Solovyov. There, Victor met a girl, Natasha Razlogova. He was with her for the last 3 years of his life. Marianna understood everything and did not suit either Tsoi or Natasha with scandals and intrigues. They remained close friends and did not even get divorced. Tsoi often visited Marianna and Sasha, took his son with him when he was free from concerts and recordings. He will take it in August 1990, when he goes on vacation to the Baltic Sea.

The spring of 1987 was rich in concert events: the premiere of "Assy", the last participation at the rock club festival, where "Kino" received the prize "For Creative Age". "Kino" for the first time go abroad to France, where the album "The Last Hero" was released. Then "Kino" begin to record the album "Blood Type".

In the fall, Victor flies to Rashid Nugmanov in Alma-Ata to shoot his last movie"Needle" at the film studio "Kazakhfilm". In this regard, "Kino" finalized the "Blood Type" and temporarily stopped concert activity. In addition to Tsoi, the musician and great original Pyotr Mamonov, the "debaucher" Alexander Bashirov starred in "The Needle". One of the actors of "The Needle", who is also an innovative teacher and director of the 152nd experimental school, Archimed Iskakov, recalled 15 years after the filming of the film about how the students of his class, having learned that he was acting in the same film with "himself Tsoi", began to beg Archimedes to invite Tsoi to school. Iskakov, on one of the shooting days, told Victor about the "pressure" he is subjected to from his own class. Victor offered to come to school, but the problem was that the shooting ended only at 9 pm and will the schoolchildren be able to stay at school by that time, waiting for his arrival? ... The schoolchildren decided to wait, not believing that the next day "Tsoi himself" will come to them and will they come at all ... But immediately after the next shooting day, when Rashid Nugmanov sent the entire film crew to rest, Tsoi and Archimedes Iskakov, without washing off their makeup, without changing clothes, rushed to school. There, not one class, but half a school was waiting for them: students not only of the senior classes, but also of the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and even the parents of some children. Viktor Tsoi under acoustic guitar sang his songs, talked about his work and life events ... The two hours that Tsoi was at school passed unnoticed ... The next day, the students thanked Iskakov for such a guest as Tsoi, but since they were dumbfounded by his visit, they could not even talk to him ... Tsoi came for the second time, again after filming. This time the students asked questions themselves. Tsoi met New Year 1988 in Alma-Ata, with the Nugmanov brothers. In the same place, in Alma-Ata, choosing the music on Rashid's guitar, Tsoi wrote "A Star Called the Sun" and "A Place to Step Forward":

But all I need is a few words
And a step forward...

In 1988, the film "Needle" and the album "Blood Type" were released, which gave rise to "film mania": thousands of teenagers cut their hair "under Tsoi", dressed in black and learned to play the guitar. The Kino group became super popular, the cassettes were distributed throughout the Union, the album was well received and distributed in the USA. A triumphant tour of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus begins - the Kino group collects full houses at all concerts. November 16, 1989 at the memorial concert of Alexander Bashlachev, the audience is extremely active; according to the plan at that moment, the song of Bashlachev, whose memory the concert was dedicated to, was to be performed, but the audience and the group did not listen to the requirements of the administration, and Viktor Tsoi brought the performance to an end. For this, Kino was banned from performing in Moscow for a whole year.

Songs of Viktor Tsoi, especially recent years, were about inhuman suffering and loneliness. There were days when Tsoi and his friends were arrested only because they played non-traditional music or were not dressed as "Soviet youth" should be. Sometimes vigilantes smashed the musical equipment. There were days when electricity was cut off right at the concert, but Tsoi continued to perform, and the audience sang along. He lived his life in an era eloquently called the Stagnation, surrounded by dullness and darkness. But do not think that Viktor Tsoi is a "victim of the totalitarian system", a "prisoner of the USSR", a "fighter against the regime", as some fighters with the past sometimes write, and even more so he is not a "herald of Perestroika", this "title" is for him attributed after the song "We are waiting for change." Once Victor was asked what he did not like about surrounding reality. "Everything," he replied. In 1988, when the entire "progressive public" was touched by Gorbachev and perestroika, Tsoi was asked how much he admires such global and wonderful transformations, because rockers can now come out of the underground, to which Tsoi replied: "You know, I don't care. By and large I don't care where I play - in an apartment, in an underground club or in a hall for ten thousand people. I have the opportunity to play - I play. There is no such opportunity - I am ready to do it for free. In any case, I do what What do I want". Probably only real poet can afford the luxury of doing what you want, regardless of anyone.

In the spring of 1988, a draft was recorded, and in 1989-1990. - final version album "Star named Sun", which they decided to release in the fall. In the summer, Victor and Kasparyan went on tour in the United States. Meanwhile, in 1989, "Needle" comes in second place at the box office. Soviet films, and at the film festival "Golden Duke" in Odessa, Viktor Tsoi is recognized best actor of the year in the USSR according to surveys of film critics of the magazine "Soviet Screen". At the beginning of 1990, "Kino" went abroad with numerous tours, and the disc "The Last Hero" was released in France.

June 24, 1990 last concert"Kino" in Moscow at the Luzhniki Grand Sports Arena. It ended with the song "Change requires our hearts." After that, Tsoi and Kasparyan retired to a dacha near Jurmala, where they began to record material for a new album with an acoustic guitar. This album, mixed by the musicians of the Kino group after the death of Tsoi, was released in December 1990 and was called the Black Album.

Viktor Tsoi tragically died on August 15, 1990 in Latvia, where he was on vacation. "The collision of the dark blue Moskvich-2141 car with the Ikarus-280 regular bus occurred at 12:28 on August 15, 1990 at the 35th kilometer of the Sloka-Tulsa highway. The car was moving along the highway at a speed of at least 130 km / h, the driver Viktor Robertovich Tsoi lost control. The death of Tsoi V.R. came instantly, the driver of the oncoming bus was not injured ... "An analysis of brain cells indicated that Tsoi fell asleep at the wheel, probably from overwork - as stated in the protocol of the police investigation. Visibility on the road, according to the protocol, was limited at that time, the asphalt was dry. On the 35th kilometer of the Sloka-Talsy highway, near Tukums, moving in the direction of Sloka, not far from the bridge over the river Teytupe, Viktor Tsoi's "Moskvich" drove to the side of the road and raced 233.6 meters along it. This is evidenced by a clearly imprinted track of the wheels. The speed of the passenger car was too high, and he did not have time to avoid a collision. "Moskvich" hit the front right corner in the left front of the "Ikarus". Then the bus drove off into the river.

The death of the poet and musician Viktor Tsoi was a shock to many fans. In Krivoarbatsky lane in Moscow, a "wall of Tsoi" appeared, which the fans of the group covered with inscriptions "Kino", "Tsoi is alive" and declarations of love to the musician. It was also planned to erect a monument to the musician there, but due to the protests of the residents of the surrounding houses, the monument was not erected. In 2006, the wall was painted over by members of the Art Destroy Project, but subsequently restored by fans. Who would have thought that expelled from art school who did not have a residence permit and permanent job, "a good life plan", but registered with the police and appearing in the KGB dossier, will become a Legend, an unfading star. Who would have thought that a person who dreamed that "Love rules the world", who had been in a "psychiatric hospital", but who knew how to masterfully cut netsuke, play the guitar with inspiration and write songs on something like "ordinary topics", a person who lived " according to the laws of others" and who was destined to "die young", can become a symbol of the generation, the Last Hero.

The grave of Viktor Tsoi at the Theological Cemetery is now a place of pilgrimage for his fans. It is located 150 meters from the Church of St. John the Evangelist, on Bratskaya (central) alley, along right side, in the front row. However, anyone at the Theological Cemetery can probably show Tsoi's grave.

Marianna Tsoi, "Reference point", 1991:

Previously, Tsoi very successfully mowed down the army, studying at various vocational schools. Vocational schools attracted him precisely from this point of view, because they did not take him into the army from there. Then he turned twenty-one, and the draft board decided to take him seriously. But he was already Viktor Tsoi and could no longer join the army.
He told me: "I will go to the army, and you will marry here." I say: "Yes, are you out of your mind?". In fact, he simply could not leave rock and roll for two years in some kind of army. Everyone mowed down everything around us, everyone somehow supported us: “Well, just think, a crazy house! Well, you’ll sit there for two weeks! ..” A month and a half has passed.
... BG sent him through me some kind of Zen book, which Vitya on the Buckle never opened. From our most humane psychiatry in the world, he almost went crazy in earnest. I will not talk about the terrible conditions for the unfortunate people who ended up in this hospital, about the practice of giving injections on the sly to sleeping people and other things, about complete irresponsibility and dishonesty. All of this fades from memory over time. I only remember that the attending physician, with maniacal persistence, began to look for flaws in the patient's psyche or to bring him to clean water like a simulator. He was terribly annoyed that he was silent. But Tsoi stubbornly did not answer his questions - simply because of his natural character, and not because he wanted to tease. Their single combat lasted almost six weeks.
Finally, the doctor gave in and Vitya, almost transparent, was released into the wild as a legitimate Soviet psycho.
... After the hospital, he felt very bad. According to our humane laws, they are discharged from the madhouse directly to work. Apparently, as a punishment. The chief, seeing him, was genuinely frightened and let him go to rest for a few days.
Immediately resumed rehearsals with Yurik. We tried not to sit at home, went to visit to dispel the blues. And two weeks later, at an acoustic concert with Mike and Bob, Vitya told the public that despite the stress he had experienced, he already understands that the flow of precipitation is just the whims of nature.

A. Rybin (from the conversations of A. Vishnya with A. Rybin. "Cinema" from the very beginning to the very end"):

After this hospital, he became completely different from the person I knew him. Moreover, he became the complete opposite of that Vitka with whom you wrote Forty-five. And so he remained until his death. It was then that he became the VICTOR TSOI that we now have. From all capital letters ... He had a lot of complexes, this is no secret to anyone. Anyone who knew him personally will attest to this. And, apparently, he decided to get rid of them all at once. And a little overdone in this matter. It was sometimes the impression that he just lost his mind.

From an interview with G. Guryanov, 2003 (from the book by Ekaterina Andreeva "Timur. "Lie only the truth!"):

Choi and I did not become friends immediately. He absolutely fascinated me with the song "Tranquilizer" - impressions from a madhouse, where Tsoi successfully mowed down from the army. The very idea of a young man who is ready to go to a madhouse in order not to get into the army already seems to me an expression of extreme romanticism.

FUZZ: 1983 Victor "mowed" from the army in the hospital on a buckle. You didn't come to him?

George: No, he didn't come. It wasn't very easy. Maryana visited him, and I was waiting for him to come out ... Maryasha funny told how Tsoi was put on Buckle. There it was necessary to mow down under the TIR, manic-depressive psychosis. Cut veins and so on. They took it with it. They somehow arranged with their acquaintances that they would take him, but the veins still had to be cut. And Choi could not stand blood. Pricking a finger was already a problem, especially since the man played the guitar. And then - cut your veins! ... In general, they called an ambulance, the doctors arrived, and Tsoi was sitting so pink, there were some small scratches on his hands. Well, they took it anyway!
He went out - brought two songs: "Tranquilizer" and "I'm walking down the street in a green jacket..."...

Tsoi published several songs of the new program a year before - during the legendary debut of the SOUNDS of MU in the building of one of the Moscow schools. In particular, there Tsoi almost for the first time publicly performed "Tranquilizer" in acoustics - a terrible psychedelic written during a month and a half stay in a psychiatric hospital, in which he had to "mow down" from military conscription.
"Initially, Tranquilizer was very long and sounded even more tedious and powerful," bassist Alexander Titov recalls.

LIPNITSKY: I want to offer to listen to the song that Victor performed for the first time in Moscow at the premiere of, in fact, the first program "Sounds of Mu", and for this reason this song is especially dear to me - this is when we are on January 28, 1984 with Mamonov, with Khotin, with Bortnichuk and back then with Africa, for the first time they appeared on the stage of school No. 30 on Bolshoy Karetny, Victor was delegated from the entire St. Petersburg community to contribute to friendship at this concert. And then he sang the song "Tranquilizer" for the first time. Let's listen to her.

Lyrics of Song "Tranquilizer":

I leave the front door, open my umbrella.
I go out under the rainfall.
I understand that these are the vagaries of nature.
I even like this weather.

Ooh, a tranquilizer...

The meteorologist said it wouldn't rain for long.
I disassembled the entire receiver, as an experienced practitioner.
You understand that it was difficult for me to restrain myself.
I also like it, that's my character.

Tranquilizer...

I start my way to the tram stop.
I close my umbrella, I am an experimenter.
Here a tram passes, here it rumbles, moving away.
I'm heading home, I'm smiling.

Tranquilizer...

Stones crash into the windows like Indra's lightning bolts.
I find this case rather amusing.
You understand that I needed to have fun.
I need something to heal the trauma.

Tranquilizer...

Who would have thought that a young taciturn man, expelled from an art school, who does not have a residence permit and a permanent job, does not have good life plan, but registered with the police and appearing in the KGB dossier, will become a Legend, an unfading star. Who would have thought that a person who has been in a “psychiatric hospital”, but who has read a “wagon of romantic books” and knows how to cut a little netsuke skillfully, play the guitar with inspiration and write songs on something like “ordinary topics”, can become a symbol of a generation, the last Hero.

The author of this text tried to unravel the paradox of the Poet and Musician Viktor Tsoi, a man who dreamed that the world was ruled by Love and Dream and over this beautifully burning star who saw sunny day in dazzling dreams a man who lived by the laws of others and who was destined to die young

Leningrad Viktor Tsoi

Leningrad, where Viktor Tsoi was born, on June 21, 1962, undoubtedly had a huge impact on his attitude, character, and, consequently, on his work. Tsoi's songs are permeated with the spirit of the Leningrad streets, the Leningrad sleeping areas, where he clandestinely played on the "kvartirniki", i.e. concerts at home. In Tsoi's songs, the magic of Leningrad, his soul, the climate, where it can be "Plus 25. Summer", but more often

The third day, water flows from the sky,
A lot of water flows.
They say it's supposed to be here
They say it's always like that.

Tsoi's Leningrad is like a living organism, it makes noise, buzzes, smells - either of asphalt, or of a breeze from the Neva, or of red wine, which the Leningrad rockers warmed up in ordinary ovens, and only then “brought to condition”. The drink turned out to be truly hoppy and intoxicating. Tsoi knows Leningrad in all manifestations. Through his songs, you get acquainted with the avenues of Leningrad and honking cars, listen how the endless Leningrad rain can drum outside the window, or hear the laughter of Tsoi's friends, for whom mom is anarchy, dad is a glass of port wine, who march through life, and only make stops at the beer stalls. You may even meet a strange couple on an evening deserted street - an eighth-grader girl who enjoys sweets and tells a young guy about a triplet in geography. A guy in black clothes, infantile and pensive, aloofly grinds a cigarette and invites an eighth-grader to a tavern, of course

Trolleybuses and electric trains of Leningrad, which usually take Tsoi to where he does not want to go. In one of the midnight vestibules of the Leningrad train, where cold, and at the same time somehow warm, where it is smoky, and at the same time somehow fresh, Boris Grebenshchikov, then known only in the Leningrad rock underground, noticed a tall young man with an acoustic guitar, with a face of "exotic, oriental type». Young man name was Victor, he sang B.G. a few of his songs Grebenshchikov much later recalled when this man was known by millions, and his songs were sung from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, that it seemed to him as if he saw a Miracle and experienced a feeling similar to the joy of a discoverer who found a priceless treasure.

In Leningrad, Victor went to school to get out of the army draft Tsoi graduated from several vocational schools. As a teenager, in his cramped Leningrad apartment, Tsoi re-read the "wagon of romantic books." Through underground channels, he got “scarce” and forbidden albums, most of all Tsoi was pleased with the records of The Beatles, Genesis, Iggy Pop, Rolling Stones, punk rock, new wave. In Leningrad, Tsoi began to write his first poems and compose music for them. In Leningrad, Tsoi met and walked with people unknown to the "Soviet people", but known to the police and the KGB - Kuryokhin, Mike Naumenko, B. G., Timur Novikov, Sergei Bugaev, nicknamed Africa, Konstantin Kinchev, Alexander Bashlachev. Born in Leningrad legendary band"Kino", with legendary leader Viktor Tsoi. The body of Viktor Tsoi, who died in a car accident, will be brought to Leningrad from the sunny Baltic states

My friends always march through life

You walk down the street alone.
You go to one of your friends.
You visit for no reason
And ask for fresh news

There's someone who's having a tough argument,
And someone just sleeps for a long time,
And you're sitting next to someone
And drink wine with someone next to you.

Despite the fact that Viktor Tsoi was by nature a silent person, sometimes even shy, “introverted”, as psychologists say, immersed in his inner world, his Eastern roots nevertheless made themselves felt, he had a lot of friends, especially among musicians. Probably, they were attracted by Victor's honesty, sincerity, inner natural romance, and then his musical and poetic gift.

Leningrad of the early 80s, pre-perestroika Leningrad, or rather, that few young, but progressive part of it, which drew information not from the newspapers Pravda and Trud, and avoided the Vremya program as a drive to the police, who preferred to listen not to Kobzon, Alla Pugacheva and the laureates of "Song of the Year", and traditional rock-n-roll, "Duran Duran", " Depeche Mode”, “Police”, with the then young and driving Sting this is the party where Choi and his comrades spent time from morning until the next morning. Time passed not only drinking port wine, Streletskaya, Moskovskaya and heated wines, not only visiting the legendary Saigon cafe, but also simply exchanging information and records, singing our own and other people's songs, reading Western music magazines and listening to forbidden radio stations in the USSR, where incomprehensible, but expressive words and names often flashed punk, fuzz, "Sex Pistols", "Fender", drive.

Tsoi's friends were different in their "life views", and even musical tastes. Here were the first Soviet punks, with roughly cropped "hairs", in "bananas" and pins, and "new wavers", lovers of Western new wave music, with aesthetic quirks and mannerisms in communication, and long-haired hippies with slang and the ideology of Love & Peace , there were also hard rock fans who were as magically affected by the name "Black Sabbath" as the name of Ron Hubbard was for modern fans of the Church of Scientology. Some of his friends will come out of the underground and become famous. Kinchev, Grebenshchikov, Kuryokhin, Africa but still most of having left the Leningrad underground, she will go blind from the “beauty” of perestroika reforms, the wild market and wild show business, and will remain as unknown as in those days when participating in a rock concert could get a term in the ITK, but, probably , to all of them famous and unknown, to punks and beatniks Tsoi dedicated one of his best songs “My Friends”, which can still be heard performed by modern neo-hippies, anarchists and punks.

Patient of the "psychiatric hospital" V. Tsoi

Viktor Tsoi avoided military service because, being a creatively independent and mentally free person, having listened to John Lennon, Doors, Pink Floyd, reading the Rolling Stones magazine, romantic literature and classics, hanging out among Leningrad beatniks, hippies and punks he did not imagine that he could march, shoot at something or someone, follow someone's orders, all the more he did not believe in " progressive role CPSU ”and Lenin’s grandfather, and due to rock music and mother-anarchy. He preferred not to shoot from a machine gun, but to play the electric guitar, not to wear a helmet and body armor, but jeans and a leather jacket decorated with studs and safety pins. Tsoi avoided the army draft with the help of various vocational schools, where he hid until the age of 21. Then, nevertheless, the military registration and enlistment office saw through him and Viktor Tsoi, on the advice of his friends, plays for broke and goes straight to the psychiatric hospital . Yes, in a psychiatric hospital. There he spends instead of two weeks six. After being "above the cuckoo's nest" he really almost "went crazy", because of the state methods of treating mental anomalies and the efforts of one doctor, who did not like the "patient Viktor Tsoi" for his thoughtfulness and imperturbable silence. Having been discharged from the "psychiatric hospital", Tsoi has a certificate from this institution, which guarantees him an indulgence from the armed forces of the USSR, as a legitimate "psycho", for whom military service is contraindicated. But for sure, it was not the service that was contraindicated for Tsoi, but Viktor Tsoi was contraindicated for any service, dictatorship and control, because such a few phenomena as Tsoi, true and passionate poets, bring to any normalized reinforced concrete system, like USSR 80s early 90s, not deadly stability and conformity in actions and views, but the spirit of rebellion, freshness, saving novelty.

A few years later, Choi will write the song "Anthill", where there are lines “ and I don’t know what percentage of crazy people are at this hour but if you believe the eyes and ears, several times more”. Surely these cheerful words were inspired by Tsoi - the memory of his unhappy stay in the psychiatric hospital # 2 in the city of Leningrad.

This is a strange place Kamchatka

In order not to be considered a "parasite" and "ideological saboteur", as well as to have at least some money, Viktor Tsoi changed many works that were in no way related to the aesthetic sphere. Performances in the Leningrad rock club did not bring money, the so-called "apartment concerts" also did not pull on the role of earnings, even an invitation to Moscow, Kiev, Sverdlovsk, as a rule, was limited to a "fee" that covered only the price of tickets. Therefore, Tsoi had to work both as a lifeguard on the beach, and as a cleaner in a public bath, after which, due to high temperatures, his heart went awry, and as a wood carver, and even as a “restorer of stucco ceilings” in ancient, still royal buildings, palaces. Sometimes Viktor Tsoi put down his guitar, recalled his childhood dream of becoming an artist, took up a brush and painted in gouache portraits of Western rock musicians and film actors. Portraits either adorned the walls of friends, or were sold for 5 rubles at a nearby market, and the money went to wine, or was saved for the purchase of musical instruments. Portraits sold out quickly, Tsoi painted with talent.

After a series of various jobs, Tsoi decides to go to the boiler room as a stoker. For the Leningrad rockers, this was a traditional place, because. in the boiler room, they were freed from the constant attacks of the administration about clothes, hairstyles, lifestyle and, in general, the fact of their non-conformal existence. In the work of the "KINO" group there is a song about Kamchatka, cheerful and psychedelic, but Tsoev's "Kamchatka" is not a geographical object on the map of the then USSR, but one of the boiler houses of Leningrad, which became famous not for the quality of district heating, but for the number of creative people who worked here stokers and ash workers, the most famous of which is Viktor Tsoi. He glorified this boiler room, its atmosphere and inhabitants. In addition to working as a stoker, Tsoi wrote his songs here, arranged concerts with friends, sang along with Alexander Bashlachev. Today Kamchatka has turned into something resembling the Wailing Wall, a place of pilgrimage for rock fans, the KINO band and Viktor Tsoi.

From "AU" and "Garin" to the group "KINO"

And without music and in the world, death is not red,
And without music, you don't want to disappear.

Few people know that Tsoi, before the KINO group, played in groups that in no way resemble the KINO group that we all know, love and listen to. The first musical teams ("Ward # 6", "Automatic Satisfiers"), where Choi took part, preached the ideas of punk, which was expressed in forms that are shocking even for today. A few punks were afraid in those days of a rock party that had seen a lot and suffered a lot punks painted their faces with lipstick, wore non-standard clothes, riding breeches, shorts in winter and sheepskin coats in summer, hung around with chains, razors and pins, painted their hair. Tsoi mainly played the bass guitar and kept aloof. By the way, the song "Eighth Grader" was written during Tsoi's punk beat and "based on real facts." 18-year-old Tsoi met an 8th grade student and walked with her for a long time through the evening streets of Leningrad, but at 10 exactly, her mother was waiting for her home, of course She loved her dolls and balloons The song was written, according to Victor's friends, in one breath, in 20 minutes. Also, Viktor Tsoi played together with Mike Naumenko. After one "kvartirnik", which took place in Kyiv, they will be detained by the police and placed in the police department. Mike and Victor will give an impromptu concert at the Kiev police department “at the request of the police officers” and only a day later they were released to Leningrad

One summer, Tsoi and two of his friends, Alexei Rybin and Oleg Valensky, went to rest in the Crimea. And how real informals seized guitars, wine, but did not take tickets and "stop" got to the Crimean coast. There they lived in a tent, sunbathed from morning to evening, drank wine and played songs with a guitar. One evening, by the fire, a trinity of informals started a conversation about music, and decided to create a new group, Oleg and Alexei unanimously elected Victor as leader and vocalist. The group was called pathetically and romantically "Garin and the Hyperboloids". Viktor is Garin, and Aleksey and Oleg became Hyperboloids respectively. The group "Garin and the Hyperboloids" did not live long, Oleg was taken into the army and sent to distant Cuba to defend the conquests of Comrade Castro's guerrilla. Tsoi and Rybin decided to rename the group into something shorter, but expressive. They sorted out a lot of nouns, connected to this difficult problem of choice the Aquarium group, which helped Tsoi and Rybin. The names "Wall", "Pioneers", "Asphalt" and even "Cosmonauts" were proposed, but they did not come to a consensus. But one evening, Tsoi and Rybin, walking around Leningrad, and even in the pouring rain, saw the silhouette of a house, on the wall of which a red word flickered with electric rays MOVIE. Such an extraordinary spectacle impressed both romantics so much that they immediately renamed themselves the KINO group Tsoi and Rybin will record their debut album 45, survive successful and unsuccessful concerts, hide from the KGB after one of the "kvartirniks", run away from the police after the band's concert A "blitz" where dozens of people are beaten up and arrested just for coming to hear a Beatle pastiche. Then the paths of Tsoi and Rybin will diverge, guitarist Yuri Kasparyan, bassist Igor Tikhomirov and drummer Gustav Guryanov will join the group. Everyone will recognize the KINO group, films will be made about it, books will be written, albums will be recorded that have long become popular and are still listened to, not only by the generation of the 80s, but also by modern teenagers. Because the fresh inscriptions on the walls and in the passages that "Viktor Tsoi is alive", hardly do 40 year old cinephiles

Love is worth the wait

After the legendary eighth grader, Tsoi met the artist Marianna. She was older than Victor, which is why at first Tsoi was worried and complexed, all the more, unlike Marianna Victor received pennies, and sometimes he just went for a couple, with a flea tied in his pocket. Together with Marianna Tsoi, he will live for several years. They will walk along the streets of Leningrad in winter and summer, huddle in a communal apartment with Mike Naumenko, go with the Grebenshchikov family Boris and Lyudmila to the beach, where they will swim naked, sing, drink and sing again. Together, and again "stop" on the train, they will get to the sunny Crimea. On the train, two "hares" from the Leningrad underground will be found by conductors. But fortunately for Victor and Marianne they were not uncles-guides, always angry and unkempt, but student guides who heard semi-underground recordings of "KINO" Tsoi would sing his songs to tourists and guides until the very Crimea. On the Black Sea coast, Tsoi will not be able to talk because of his voice torn off the train

I see the waves wash away the footprints in the sand
I hear the wind sing its strange song
I hear the strings of the trees play it
Music of the waves, music of the wind.

Choi wrote this song just about this time. The time when the two of them splashed in the sea all day long, sunbathed under the generous Crimean Sun, sometimes fell asleep right on the beach. Money quickly came to an end, but for the young and informal this is not a problem at all. They caught fish, roasted it on a fire, fished out bottles and handed it in to get at least some pennies. Returning to Leningrad, they got married, and the entire "beau monde" of the Leningrad underground came to the wedding. They had a son, Sasha. When Marianna became seriously ill, Tsoi took care of his son alone, washed diapers, ran to work, played the guitar at night. Everything is wrong and everything is wrong when your girl is sick

Film director Sergei Solovyov invited Tsoi to shoot his film ACCA. Filming took place in Moscow and Yalta. There, Victor met a girl, Natasha Razlogova. He was with her for the last 3 years of his life. Marianna understood everything and did not suit either Tsoi or Natasha - scandals and intrigues. They remained close friends and did not even get divorced. Tsoi often visited Marianna and Sasha, took his son with him when he was free from concerts and recordings. He will take it in August 1990, when he goes to rest on the Baltic Sea

Tsoi in Alma-Ata

In Leningrad, Viktor Tsoi met a young director Rashid Nugmanov, who came from Alma-Ata and studied in Moscow, at VGIK. Rashid Nugmanov shot with the participation of Tsoi and Leningrad rockers the tape "Ya-xha". But it was a prelude to another film that every reader has probably seen - "The Needle" by the Kazakhfilm studio. Viktor Tsoi, because of this film, lived for several months in Alma-Ata and in the Kazakh outback. In addition to Tsoi, the Needle starred the musician and great original Pyotr Mamonov, the "debaucher" Alexander Bashirov. One of the actors of The Needle, who is also an innovative teacher and director of experimental school No. 152, Arhimed Iskakov, at the time of filming a teacher of school No. 56, recalls today, 15 years after filming the film, about how the students of his class, having learned about that he was acting in the same film with "Tsoi himself", began to put pressure and beg Archimedes to invite Tsoi to school. Archimedes, on one of the shooting days, told Victor about the "pressure" he is subjected to from his own class. Victor offered to come to the school, but the problem is that the shooting ended at 9 pm and will the students be able to stay at the school by that time, waiting for him to come? The schoolchildren were left to wait, not believing that the next day after their request "Choi himself" would come to them and whether he would come at all. Immediately after the next shooting day, when Rashid Nugmanov sent the entire film crew to rest, Tsoi and Archimedes rushed to school without rest, without washing off their makeup, without changing clothes. But there was not one class waiting for them, but half a school: not only high school students, but also 3, 4, 5, as well as the parents of some children, who were probably also “rocked” by the songs of Tsoi and the KINO group. Viktor Tsoi sang his songs with an acoustic guitar, told the audience about his work and life events The 2 hours that Tsoi was at school passed unnoticed The next day, the students thanked Archimedes for such a guest as Tsoi, but since they were dumbfounded by his visit, then We couldn't even talk to him and Archimedes Tsoi could not have come for the second time, again after filming. This time, the schoolchildren themselves asked questions Tsoi met the New Year 1988 in Alma-Ata, with the Nugmanov brothers. Tsoi wrote "A Star Called the Sun" and "A Place to Step Forward" in Alma-Ata, selecting music on Rashid's guitar.

After the album “Blood Type”, “KINO” became a super popular group, the cassettes were distributed throughout the Union, the album was well received and distributed in the USA “KINO” was invited throughout the USSR, but the “filmmakers” toured little and concentrated on recording following works, but in Alma-Ata they still gave a concert. Choi himself commented on it like this:
We have a lot of offers, but we chose Alma-Ata because I really fell in love with this city

Death is worth living

In one of his interviews, Tsoi answered all the journalist's questions with one word "NO". It was not a proud pose, and certainly not a “joke”, because his songs, especially of recent years, were about inhuman suffering and loneliness. There were days when Tsoi and his friends were arrested only because they played non-traditional music or were not dressed as it should be for "Soviet youth", sometimes vigilantes smashed the musical equipment. There were days when electricity was cut off right at the concert and Tsoi instructed the group to continue playing, the audience sang along What to build and what to destroy and to whom, and why sing here? asks Tsoi in one of his songs, overcome by loneliness and total misunderstanding. He lived his life in an era eloquently called Stagnation, surrounded by dullness and darkness, the apogee of the cult of conformism and averageness in everything clothes, actions, emotions, music, with a universal caveat-slogan and life principle“whatever happened”. This principle has been ingrained in the tears, laughter and blood of entire generations. But, do not think that Viktor Tsoi is a “victim of the totalitarian system”, a “prisoner of the USSR”, a “fighter against the regime” as some honored fighters with the past write today, and even more so he is not a “herald of Perestroika”, this “title "Attributed to him after the song "We are waiting for change." Once Victor was asked what he did not like about the surrounding reality, "ALL" he answered. Tsoi was strangled by hopelessness, from which no one can save political regime, nor the prevailing economic relations, and even more so not the "course of perestroika". In 1988, when the entire "progressive public" was touched by Gorbachev, perestroika, etc. Tsoi was asked how much he admires such a global and wonderful transformation, because rockers can now come out of the underground, to which Tsoi replied:
“You know, I don't care. By and large, I don't care where I play, in an apartment, in an underground club or in a hall for ten thousand people. I have the opportunity to play I play. There is no such possibility I am ready to do it for free. Either way, I do what I want."

Probably only a Poet can afford such a luxury. do what you want, regardless of no one and simultaneously bear the burden and pain of such freedom.

He dreamed of living in a utopia, reaching for the stars, living in a dream where there would be no absurd and cruel orders, thousands of years of wars without special reasons, wars, where every man is for himself, where instead of heat, you stumble upon the green of the glass, when it is not clear where is the face and where is the snout He could stand up and get out of the way, doomed to loneliness, metaphysical sadness, when it seems that strength has run out and hopes are too illusory, when only a loved one and friends can help. Oh, longing seizes me, my faithful friend- Viktor Tsoi sings in one of his latest songs. With superhuman efforts, he tried to reach for the stars, to be in a beautiful dream

On August 15, 1990, Viktor Tsoi, in his Moskvich 2141, at a speed of over 130 kilometers per hour, on the Sloka-Talsi highway, in Latvia, crashed into a regular Ikarus. An analysis of Tsoi's brain cells showed that Viktor was in a dream before the collision with the bus. "The death of Viktor Robertovich Tsoi came instantly" as evidenced by the official conclusion.
