Modern fine arts (starting from the end of the 19th century) are characterized by a bias towards expressiveness. The extreme manifestation of this trend is non-objective art, which flourished in the twenties of the last century. The works of the avant-garde artists of this era, according to the method of creation and the technique used, belonged to the fine arts, and according to the nature of the images and means of expression- to expressive. We can say that expressiveness has always been present in painting, sculpture, graphics, but in the twentieth century it was "brought to the surface."
