— What helps to achieve success in the career of a creative person more – natural talent, or specialized quality education? Is it possible to travel in modern show business on one talent, or is a harmonious symbiosis of both necessary?

- I don’t just sing, I’m a composer, it would be difficult here without basic knowledge, and education is necessary. A musician, like a doctor, must be educated, in addition to natural inclination, as it seems to me.

In general, I think that it is in the Russian version that one can simply sing something without education - they sing on our stage. But those people who really contribute to our stage, like Polina Gagarina, Dima Bilan and many other artists whom I respect very much, they have a musical education.

Education in this area gives more opportunities, a depth of understanding of the construction of music. I write songs for myself, for other artists, music for films and TV shows - here it is simply impossible without education.

In general, I graduated from VGIK and the jazz college named after Kozlov, + a theater school behind me.

- Fans of your work know you under a very bright and energetically powerful pseudonym Elektra. Does it reflect your character? To what extent do you correspond to him in creativity and life?

- This pseudonym was coined when I was only 17 years old - I was just a baby, and I definitely was a real crazy. That is, Dominic Joker did not come up with it by chance - the pseudonym reflected my character, my whole life was like one flash. We released a very successful album "Free Element", and then I went to study - and lived between Moscow and Kiev, wrote a lot of music for films and TV shows.

When I took up the second solo record for myself, I realized that I just grew out of Elektra, I needed to feel like myself, alive, more mature. And we decided to stop using the pseudonym Elektra.

I am Lera Tumanova, and this is my music, the music of my generation. Teenage songs in the past.

- You even gave your daughter a musical name - Aria. Is this, so to speak, a contribution to the musical future of the baby? Do you dream that Aria will follow in your footsteps?

The name Aria has nothing to do with music. This is very old Slavic name from the male Arius. This whole story about the tribes of the Aryans - historical fact, only they did not live in Western Europe, they were Proto-Slavs.

Aria literally translates as "lioness", in this name - strength and nobility. We really liked it with my husband, because. we were looking for a name consonant with the name of Valery - that's what the beloved wanted. Aria-Valeria really sound very close in terms of energy.

Everyone, of course, thinks that we came up with a name for " musical child”, others generally believe that the “Game of Presotols” inspired us, but we would not think so superficially. We no longer go into details, and always nod, say: “Yes, music is our everything.” Paul says, "This is my best Aria."

Our dad is an opera singer, actor and director of an operetta, so everything fits.

- How much do you manage to plan and carry out what is planned, with such an intense rhythm of life? The life of a young mother usually revolves around a child, and you also have time to be creative, perform ...

- It seems to me that all young girls, singers now have children, everyone has time for everything. I don’t think it’s harder for us to keep up than it is for a lawyer mom, for example, or a surgeon mom.

Of course, my mom and dad help me. And a nanny. But it does help. This does not mean that I am on the set all day, and the child is left to nannies and grandmothers. Still, we gave birth to a baby for ourselves, and not for our grandmother.

— Do your relatives agree that you lead such an active creative life? Have you ever heard reproaches from your mother, husband, that you are rarely at home?

- My husband and I work together, he is the director of my musical project. And he also has a musical and several operettas, where he is busy as a director and actor. I have a lot of plans, and we are preparing a big tour. I think you can’t set boundaries for yourself, all successes are always ahead - although there are a lot of them behind them.

- A young mother does not have to hope for a full 8-hour sleep. And during the day, for sure, it is rarely possible to relax, just be lazy. How do you recover, what gives you the strength to be so active?

Yes, you are right here. Eight hours is simply unrealistic! Sometimes you come from a concert at 3 am - and get up with the baby in the morning at 7. And you have to play, be fun - in a word, be a mother.

In the morning, the baby gets up only with me, there is no such thing that I sleep until 12, and the nanny or grandmother entertained the child. I spend half a day with the baby, at least from 7-8 in the morning to 2-3 in the afternoon, then I leave for rehearsals, filming and concerts. And if there is no concert in the evening, we do not hang out at events, but rush home with my husband as fast as we can, play with Aria, put her to bed - and then we can devote time to ourselves.

I drink vitamins and go in for sports. Certainly, proper nutrition it helps a lot to stay in shape.

- You look great! Please share your personal beauty recipes.

- Nutrition! This is the foundation of the fundamentals. You can pour anything on yourself and spend brutal money on doctors, but sleep and nutrition are the basis of beauty. And then fitness and everything else. Watch your diet - and you will see how everything in your life will change: from appearance to well-being.

I use little makeup common days and let the skin rest. In the summer I try not to sunbathe my face to blackness, I always hide it under a hat or cap, since I have been struggling with dry skin since I was 16 years old. - Lera, have you dreamed of becoming a singer since childhood?

Lera Tumanova: I graduated from theater general education school and was preparing to become an actress, to be honest. After all, I came to Moscow to enter theater university. Everything changed at the age of 14, when for the first time with my group "BIS" we presented to the audience a teenage album that I wrote myself. At school, of course, we had theatrical skills, and vocals as compulsory subjects. An actor must be able to sing and move. The guys and I put together a group purely for rehearsals, played world hits (covers), and I sang. My favorite songs were Aguilera, Alisha Keys, Shanai Twain. I myself started writing songs from about the age of 12, before that there was just a sea of ​​\u200b\u200bverses, but it was very embarrassing to show it to someone, it seemed to me that they would laugh at me. Teenage complexes ... Once at a rehearsal I hummed a melody with words into the microphone and the guys began to ask what I was singing, I refused, but then I took it and sang a verse with a chorus. I can’t say that a flurry of applause followed, but they became interested and asked to show everything they had. Our director immediately said that performing original material is cooler and more interesting than being a cover band of one of the millions. This is how the first songs and our first Crimean concerts appeared, because both I and my musicians come from Sevastopol.

— You were born in Sevastopol. How did you decide to move to Moscow? What difficulties did you face?

Lera Tumanova: Now, if I knew in advance about all the difficulties and dangers and had such brains as now, I would probably think. (Smiles.) But 16 years old and 16, so as not to think about difficulties, to make dizzying deeds and rush towards dreams. I still do it, but more deliberately. And then, my arrival in Moscow was happiness for a provincial girl in itself, dad brought me to the hostel of the Institute of Cinematography and went home to Sevastopol. For my parents, this was a difficult decision, but my mother graduated from the Lenin Pedagogical Institute in Moscow and also came from the provinces at 16 to enter (Vyazniki, Vladimir Region), she succeeded, so she believed in me. I am infinitely grateful to my parents that they let me go, that they gave me a chance to prove myself. After all, it is clear that music industry not in small towns. — Your mother is a teacher, father is a captain. How did your parents react to your desire to perform on stage?

Lera Tumanova: My parents are my pride, they sent me to theater school, knowing perfectly well that I will definitely have creative profession. I began to read the first poems at the age of 3, and then the passion for creativity only grew. My mother saw it and supported it. Not cultivated artificially, namely supported. - At the beginning of your career, you were Elektra. Why did you give up your creative pseudonym?

Lera Tumanova: Elektra - these are my songs, written in the period from 14 to 18 years old, they came out in Moscow when I was studying at the institute. This is such a teenage project, made in collaboration with my friend Dominic Joker. By the way, very successful project. Our album "Free Element" was released by the Russian media group, the song "Give me the sky" hit immediately on Russian radio, it was incredibly cool! What role in your creative development played by Dominic Joker?

Lera Tumanova: We met Dominik in the Crimea, he came with the Star Factory 4 on tour. Going backstage was not a problem for me, I myself performed at all these venues and knew all the organizers. I wanted to get to know Dominik, realizing that this is a composer, author, not just a producer's puppet with purchased material. I brought Dominik a bunch of leaflets, pieces of paper with songs, he smiled and said only one thing: If you are in Moscow, stop by the studio. When I came back a year later, of course, he didn't really remember that conversation, but I didn't forget him. (Smiling.) He only asked one thing: Do you have a budget for recording? I don't know what played the role: my songs, eyes full of tears or sincerity, but Dominic said: Let's try! We recorded songs late at night when all the stars have already finished working. Then Dominik took the record to the Russian media group and they signed a contract with us for the album. Perhaps they would not even talk to me personally. You write your own songs. Can you tell me how this process takes place? What do you draw inspiration from?

Lera Tumanova: Yes, I am the author of both music and poetry. At the expense of the muse - this complex issue, she is very obstinate and what should, according to the idea, give inspiration often does not bear fruit, and a casual conversation in the stairwell or a friend's story can become a song. I honestly don't know how a song is born, it just starts to sound in my head all of a sudden. That sounds like it's impossible to stop. And I never write text and music separately, it happens at once and together. Each of my songs is a small story, not necessarily from my life, I have not experienced so much as I wrote. (Laughs.)

- Your song "I'm bad" blew up the chat rooms. What do you think is the secret of her success? What does this song mean to you?

Lera Tumanova: When this song appeared, all my friends began to call with the question: Lera, are you all right? How are you and Pasha? I wrote my "Bad" in about 3 minutes on one breath. The song was very different from Elektra's light dance creativity, everything that I wrote BEFORE and it seems to me that it turned out to be very understandable for girls. When more than 250,000 girls, a quarter of a million, put the hashtag on the VKontakte social network #I'M BAD... I realized that the shot was in the heart. It was a complete surprise for me when this absolutely unformatted song got into rotation on Russian radio, at that moment I realized that our industry had moved off the ground, that even popular media wanted something deep and meaningful. The song became the main single of the album "YOUNG BEAUTIFUL".

You recently released solo album"Young beautiful." Tell me about your favorite songs.

Lera Tumanova: Yes, the album hit the top ten dance albums in Russia literally in the very first days of its appearance in digital stores. Lasted two weeks in the TOP 10 best albums Russia in itunes and Yandex Music. I think it was the first significant success, it's incredibly inspiring, because I worked on the record for three years. There are also soundtracks for Russian serials, two songs from the album "Give Me Fire", "GENTLY" became the soundtracks for the TV series "STREET" on TNT. The song "BREATHE" and "You are me" are soundtracks from the Russian musical "Alice in Wonderland". But I can’t name my favorite songs, it’s impossible to name a beloved child among children, they are all mine.

— Do you have any idols in your profession?

Lera Tumanova: Certainly. Christina Aguilera, Adele, SIA are my favorite vocalists, TIESTO and Armin Van Buuren are my favorite DJs and sound producers.

You write songs for movies. Which of your works are you most proud of?

Lera Tumanova: I did not write songs for popular Russian TV series on purpose, for the director's tasks. There was a different scheme, the director chose songs from my album that fit the meaning of the film. But the music for musicals " White sun desert" and "Alice" - yes, there is music that I composed according to the plan and I am very proud of these theatrical works like a composer.

- What allows you to always be in shape? Sport? Diets? Do you follow any kind of diet?

Lera Tumanova: Judge for yourself, here is my approximate daily schedule: I have a very young daughter, so I always get up early around 7-8 in the morning, if I'm lucky. (Smiles.) Often my husband and I come from a concert at 3, at 5 in the morning, but we still have to get up at 7, because you can’t explain to the baby about work. Help, of course, and my mother and the second grandmother, without them we would not have survived in such a schedule. Lera Tumanova: Well I don't an ideal person. With a small child, it's hard to be perfect if you don't get enough sleep for 3 years in a row. While youth and energy help, positive attitude. Lera Tumanova: Well, let's be realistic, at 40, it's probably impossible. A beautician is needed and beauty injections too. By the way, I have a good attitude towards Botox, if the facial expressions are very active, then you can easily have an accordion on your forehead at the age of 27, why wait for this and then fight with deep facial wrinkles?

— You run your fashion blog leratumanova and the popular baby blog ariababyfashion. What do you need it for? Are you doing it more for yourself or for the fans?

Lera Tumanova: I do not position myself as a fashion blogger. I am a singer and composer, I just tell girls about fashion news not as a fashion expert, but simply as a girl like them. I have access to designers and new collections. My readers can see the new bows first. Instagram is for communication feedback. At @ariababyfashion we discuss with friends kids, family, when raising a child, the advice of experienced mothers is very necessary and important. And the @leratumanova blog is more about fashion and music. They complement each other.

Do you have any secrets on how to always look good in photographs?

Lera Tumanova: The ability to take pictures is not so much a gift as practice. good photographer. Because it’s easy to make even a super-beauty look ugly, because the angle is very important, in photography schools a whole course is devoted to this. To get good photos, you need to take pictures more often and study your photos, poses, portraits and everything will turn out no worse than that of a celebrity.

- Do you like traveling? Do you prefer active holidays or spend time on the beach?

Lera Tumanova: I love, but Small child This is not about travel. I am against dragging a baby across countries in infancy. A trip to a hotel with a child is about relaxation, but not about traveling in the full sense. So until the baby grows up, we just lie on the beach, like most moms and dads.

Have you already decided where you are going this summer?

Lera Tumanova: To Crimea. I have tours scheduled for July-August. At the same time we will have a rest with the whole family. I really look forward to this trip, I love Crimea, this is my Motherland.
